"Funding Basic Science to Revolutionize Medicine" was submitted by Florie Charles, Nir Oksenberg, Marta Wegorzewska, Osama Ahmed, Argenta Price, and Christin Chong and is a winner in the second annual FASEB Stand Up for Science Competition. This year FASEB asked entrants to create exciting, yet informative, videos to let Americans know how U.S. federal agencies fund biological research.
Fantastic! Your award is well-deserved!
Mr. W
Why aren't these ads aired in the superbowl??
With more funding, they can.
Fantastic video--we need more information out there like this! Great job UCSF!
so fun and creative!
Send it to every political leader, so that they approve more funding for basic research.
What a great idea and a charming video! Congratulations.
This is so incredibly well-done!!! (from message to presentation to clarity to "short-and-sweet" length to keep someone's attention). What a great way to demonstrate the basic communication problem between scientists and the public (which personally I think scientists, like myself, are mostly to blame -> when asked the question "should we fund diabetes research or study bacteria", it shouldn't be surprising that most non-researchers choose the former).
This really hit the mark....
Nice video! We need more like this.
Great job!
And yet I am told that insulin prices continue to skyrocket . . .
The Genetics Society of America has an interview with one of the grad students behind the video at www.genetics-gsa.org/news/templates/?a=114&z=1
Stanford Lost Curecoin and the Playstation 3, moving it to Harvard. Peace out!
