    This is so awesome! I'm really glad to see when people let you know about some care mistakes you went ahead and did some research and changed them rather than getting defensive and disagreeing! (it is shame though if anyone left unhelpful harsh comments :c ) It's also awesome you used a part from the old cage!

      writing to friends robos have not been domesticated nearly as long, only the 90’s vs Syrians in the 40’s, so they are still very wild at heart. Try putting a blanket over his cage (make sure not the whole thing covered so there is still circulation) this will reduce scents and sites that are new and scary letting him adjust to his enclosure first. Don’t forget the are nocturnal and some don’t wake up until midnight. Sorry I’m not Victoria but I hope this helps 😊👍

    Please make sure you bake the sticks first because since it’s from outside it’s not going to be the cleanest. Also if you’re using sand you have to make sure it’s calcium free. I recommend using the Higgins sunburst hamster food mixed with the mazuri rat pellets both of these foods provides your hamster with the needed protein.

    Thank you! I see so many people on the internet who get hamsters, show it on a video, get hate, disable the comments, and just completely ignore it. It’s uncommon to find people who actually care enough about the animal to give it a proper home with a proper setup after wards, I can only think of you, Jenna marbles, and one other person I have seen do this. But so many people who just ignore it and let hammies suffer. They are such amazing animals that deserve the space that we should give them, CritterTrail and Kaytee just seem to think that it’s small and cute, let’s market it at kids who don’t have their own money and sell them improper things because it can be cheaper for them and more appealing. But still, it’s great to see people who do care about the hamster and not just ignore care, also adorable hammie

    It's so amazing that you upgraded!! Love it! One thing on my mind: Maybe you should add a bit more bedding as hamsters are burrowers. In my country the minimum of bedding depth is 8 inches! We mostly fill cages up until the wheel (or whatever is the highest interior) nearly touches the lid! However, just to mention again: Great work you did! Can't believe that pet shops really recommend SUCH small cages... poor hamsters that have to live in these prisons for their lifetime. Pet shops could do soo much better.

    I personally would do water bowl because it’s more natural for them. But that’s really based on opinion, you could do both just to be safe and see what your hamster likes more. That’s the only thing I thought to point out in this video. You could have done a bin cage which would have been cheaper and you could’ve gotten bigger, but your aquarium is fine.

    Hey girl just so you know, oxbow is one of the best small animal foods you can buy! Although a mixed seed diet is good for flavor, sometimes the pet wont eat the most important part of the mix and will only eat the yummy stuff. A good mix of pellet diet and seed diet is best!

    • @Mimi-kx1sz
      @Mimi-kx1sz 4 роки тому

      moig joid this isn’t true, oxbow for rabbits and guinea pigs are fine but the oxbow got hamsters/gerbils isn’t good for them. It’s hay based (which goes right through them and they don’t get all the nutrients from it. Hamster have been known to starve to death on the oxbow food.), it doesn’t have enough protein either. Hamsters need at least 17% protein in their diet and oxbow hamster food only has about 12%. The best hamster diet is the Higgins Sunburst and the mizuri rat and mouse block food. It gives them enough variety and protein together and many hamster owners swear by this diet. I suggest watching some videos or doing more research before suggesting a food/diet.

    I love that you took initiative and did what is right for your hamster instead of disagreeing and not changing a thing, so props to you on that. I think it looks great, one suggestion I have though is just to put a bit more substrate in at least one part of the cage as hamsters, especially syrians are very avid burrowers. But overall, great job

I wouldn’t recommend getting sticks from outside though, I think there are ways to clean them but I’m not sure of any. :))

    i don’t believe the sand you showed is okay for your hamster. if it contains calcium in the sand it isn’t safe for your hamster. I recommend going to Home Depot and getting their play sand (around 5$) for a huge bag. you do have to properly bake the sand and sift the sand to make it safe.💕💕 there is also a brand called repisand which is suitable as well but it does have to be that exact brand xx. 💕

    • @yl985
      @yl985 4 роки тому +1

      yes that is true but you don’t have to bake the sand as long as it’s heat treated 💕 (you can still bake it just in case tough!)

      @brickguts 4 роки тому +1

      They're only okay in small amounts, once a week is more than enough. But when it comes to dwarves defiantly avoid them as they're prone to diabetes, but with Syrians they won't hurt. Tbh I just wouldn't give them at all personally as they really have no benefit, might as well give the real plain yogurt since that's much healthier with not nearly as much sugar
