- COME GET A NEW HAMSTER WITH ME!! 🐹✨ Also plenty of shopping for hamster accessories and a cage set up. I'm super excited to welcome home a new hammy. ;w;
I do not want to talk about the amount I spent on the entire tank and set up. So please don't remind me LMAO.
Also I'm sorry if I got a little depressing when I talked about my previous hamster Cocoa, but I couldn't NOT talk about her, you know what I mean? I will always miss her and I will always love her. RIP Cocoa Bean ❤️

So good!! I just want you to know that you should never buy any live animal form chain pet stores. They’re called “hamster mills” you prob already know but if you don’t you should do some research. Also it’s good that you separated those hammies at the pet store hamsters should never be housed together

You did really great. Hamsters are usually sold from 3-4 weeks old. So could be anywhere between 3- 6 weeks old.

@@T-swizzle-fan13I think that usually the pet store hamsters sold are babies, so they’re fine to be housed together for a little while, although i agree with u for the hamster mill thing
when i clicked on this video i thought it was going to be another of those people who just get a pet store tiny cage and throws the hamster in there but you did so good!!!!!

It‘s so good to see that someone puts in the effort to research about proper hamster care and provide their hamster with a suitable cage. So many people just assume that hamsters don‘t have a lot of needs because they are so small, so it makes me happy to see content creators showing proper hamster care on UA-cam :)

I had hamsters many years ago and I am so happy the care has improved massively, I think Poptart is going to love her new enclosure it is so nice watching her explore, I could watch her for hours, I would love regular updates! ❤

Hi just to let you know, the sunburst seedmix is not safe! It is unbalanced and has recently gotten a new ingredient that is salt, which is not good for hamsters! Some seed mixes I’d recommend are getzoo or bunny nature dream expert with an added 40g of mealworms. For your enclosure I think it’s great! Although i would look into getting more types of sprays, adding forage and other substrates like beech chips, aspen, coco chips, coco soil, ect!💗
I had no idea about the changes to the sunbursts omg! I will look into changing the seed mixture asap. I appreciate your comment! Also Poptart doesn’t seem to care for the sprays? Maybe I didn’t put in the right ones? I’m not sure 🤔
@@KatelinRebecca That’s great! Maybe Poptart dosent care about the sprays because there’s not many he likes? On Etsy there’s lots of different types of sprays, see if Poptart likes some! My hamsters favourite are flax, millet and yellow oat sprays!

@MilkyMoomin Seed mixes from Etsy aren’t suitable. The majority of them are homemade meaning they haven’t been lab tested which is dangerous. They are unbalanced and you need a lab to calculate micronutrient which that hasn’t been done

I definitely recommend the kaytee clean and cozy bedding! I have it for my Guinea pigs and previous critters and they LOVED it.
I would love to see updates of Poptart. You did so well for her. Also she does have your dog's coloration. ❤ I love good content like this. She's so lucky to have you as a hamster mom.

i love these types of videos with the proper care and peaceful music but most of those people quit im so thankful that i am this early to such a great channel 😊❤im sure your hamster will absolutely love you and the cage, one of the luckiest hamsters alive since most people just put them in tiny pet store cages 😢❤❤

Little tip! Dont use water bottles they only give your hamsters a few drops of water, its always better to have the water in a bowl! And honestly I loveee ur setup, so glad someone did their researches:) and btw sorry for your loss❤️ Tell poptart I said hi;)

I just got my first hamster yesterday! Me and you are twinning with the intense research and watching Victoria raechel! So sorry to hear about your loss but I can already tell you have provided such an amazing new home for your new baby! My new one is still getting used to his new home but I can wait to bond with him and become closer to my cute new baby!

I love this cage setup!! Pop tart is so cute!! Since you have some heavy platforms that don’t look like they’d be rattled or knocked over, you could place a small water dish, just so pop tart has some water options incase she prefers it over the bottle. ❤❤❤❤
SO TRUE! I actually did include a water dish, I just forgot to show that haha I think she liked it but the dish I chose seemed to be too big. I may buy a smaller one in the future bc she seemed to like the dish a bit more than the bottle. 🤔

The mullet snips are very good in the hamster diet. I know this because I have those and give them to my hamster once a week. Also, make sure that you only give her fruits and vegetables once a week. They also love baby puffs and peanuts😊

It's not silly at all to grieve your tiny friend! I've only had my girl for 5 months and I would be crushed if I lost her, she definitley has made my life a little brighter and she is the sweetest girl! Used to be scared just like your new baby, but now asks and DEMANDS to be taken🥰💓 What I mean is, they are just as meaningful as any other pet, and your grief is not silly at all, quite the opposite, I think is totally understandable💓

It is honestly a great set up! my hamster didn't use the dig boxes so i put the soft cork granules, aspen, and coco peat i think its called as a layer in a small section of his enclosure so he can still experience different textures and he now digs in it all the time
Awh I’m glad you figured out something that works for you and your lil baby! Poptart seems to love her dig box. I always see her sitting in there just chillin 🤣 I would like to get her some more extra enrichment substrates in the future though!
@KatelinRebecca poptart seems like she's such a sweetheart! My Pablo had two different homes before he came to me and both where in tiny cages so I don't think he knew what they where until removed the dig box. But now he loves them. The soft cork granule is his favorite I think
I’m no expert but I definitely think the millet nips things by healthy select are pretty good. I’ve had hamsters in the past and currently rats and they both really like them, I haven’t seen any issues with them either. But I would recommend only giving it as a once in a while treat not to much because they do love them. Hope this helps! 💗

If you purchase a silent runner wheel you won’t even hear the little guy running! I have my enclosure in my bedroom and I hardly even hear it. The NiteAngel wheel is PERFECT. I hope this helps. ❤

No way! Victoria Rachel! I’m 10 and I have a dwarf hamster, I knew everything about hamster care until I got one and my mom refused repeatedly to provide proper care for him. I bought him a pet store cage and I still feel horrible about it to this day. I wish I could provide silly more bedding and space
The petsmart near me houses hamsters 3-6 months old. That's when they get them. Maybe Poptart is around that age?
You could always call back and see if someone finds out when they got their shipment of hamsters in. And what ages they are.

I'm so glad you did research before buying a hamster 🥹. A few things I'd like to say though, that food is unfortunately not very safe. Better options would be Getzoo, Rodipet, Bunny Nature 'Expert', Real Nature (Europe) are some, or Chubby Hamster Cheeks, Getzoo, Bunny Nature 'Expert', Robins Gourmet (USA/Canada. The cage should be more cluttered. Especially for a female syrian. They need 3+ different substrates (not including sand) to incurage digging, and 3+ textures. 5+ hides (not including a multichamber). And lastly make sure you have at least 8 inches of bedding!

i would say poptart is 8-12weeks old,after they reach 12 weeks they have to be separated due to fighting with hamsters being a solitary rodent :)
she's probably around 6 or 8 weeks old, if I'm correct baby Syrians stay together until 6-8 weeks and it didn't look like she fought with the other hamster. Poptart is so cute btw! and great cage :D
So true! They seemed to have gotten along great when I was at the pet store tbh. They were cuddling and eating together! Not that I would EVER house them together but I did feel a bit bad about separating them. 😅

I personally mix the PetSmart brand paper bedding (i think its called Full Cheeks) and kaytee paper bedding together and then i put the kaytee one specifically where i know he sleeps because its so soft!
