One major problem we had on 9.9/15 hp in the 90s was a rubber grommit on water pickup tube under the block, it expanded due to salt build up and blocked waterflow. It was changed to two plastic washers.
Got me a pile of motors here too. But, been having too much fun fun on the water with the runners, friends, and with the little time I have during summer ... and will need to save the outboard chicken cherokee shuffle until after the camping, horseshoes, beer, and lake time. Hope you get some time on the water too. Then, there is a Johnson 35 electric with remote close by my house for 200, and a 25 a little a little further with remote for 500 which would be great for my little 14' lund. I fixed my friend's 45 johnson - carbs and impeller, and it runs like a sewing machine now. Thanks for the vids!
Nice redo Kodi on that 1990 15HP. One more idea paint the gearshifter handle and plastic transom clamps flat black. Really pops against the white just did one not long ago I was surprised.Same scenario my motor ran great but the paint was terrible someone painted it black. In that time period 1990S no primer in many cases by OMC they cheaped out. Oh that old Johnson early 1950S 10HP by the stairs would be nice to see you get going even though they arent money makers,LOL! would be interesting. Thinking about getting a IBC plastic container for a test tank mine rusted away after many years an oil tank threw it out........
Yeh' I'll shoot the black part's prior to putting on my sale rack, My tank is Aluminum it came off a old fishing boat I Like it's size not to big , not to small. Then I built the lift. kb
@@kodibassInsideoutboards Yes thats a nice little test tank you have with that custom lift you built . Empty IBC metal caged plastic containers are all over Facebook Marketplace here from $50 -$100/pc there abundant because most of them are not refillable. Makes for a great small outboard test tank.A outboard friend offered me one of those big outboard factory built circular test tanks once I didnt want it too big,LOLL go figure..... later
I've got a 30 evinrude that mice lived in. Wires chewed, lots of corrosion, but has good compression. I picked up an older 35 for parts . Hope I can Frankenstein them together. If you do a video of the 30 Johnson that would help me. Thanks. PS. Love your videos, keep up the good work.
Hi Kodi, she's looking good now and runs great. We are down on a trip to the Oregon Coast and stopped at Bandon by the Sea RV campground on 101. I did a review video and found Fret's long lost cousin Fretetta. Gave you a plug check it out next Friday
Thanks kodi!! Watched 25 hp Yamaha from year’s ago, question is it idles ok but losing top end, I got kits and pump coming but any other information will be helpful, but this engine is from 89 and still ticking,
Np I just scored an abandoned Evinrude fastwin outboard. Not sure what year it is or size of engine it is yet. I can only say it is heavy and about 90 percent there.
The impeller & the T-Stat were both roached, I titled it the way I did because it was kinda a series of 4 vid's,, to get it all the way to a usable/ 4 sale condition. I Thought I showed the T-stat in one of the vid's but I may have accidentally edited it out, OOPS My bad. kb

Here is what I have found out from the engine round stamp M 18402 D E 05378 I believe this is a 1964 18hp Evinrude outboard
OK, am cornfused. Did the impeller solve the issue, or was there another issue as well?
was wondering the same...

@@kodibassInsideoutboards You may have shown it, I just missed it...
Yamaha 4😊❤ Gus🇳🇴
Do you have what it takes to convert a 1987 Johnson 35 to a tiller handle
Commercial engine differences might be useful
The 1986 roughy
You dover nice work however your PPP or should I say lack of leaves me gasping for fresh air.
Dt 25
Yeh' mite go that one cause they R so well built they often don't need much. kb
@kodibassInsideoutboards dt 25s are hot items here in arkansas. All those young duck hunters want 3 hole 25s for the season and sand bar racing!
Nice video again Kodi!
I vote for any proj from mid-80’s.
