    Update to this video: If you are looking for suggestions on tuning companies I would steer you to Jackal Motorsports. They have absolutely taken over and dominated the 3.0t community and their customer service is incredible. You can use discount code "Audic7owners" to save 50$ on your purchase with them as well 🤘🏼

    Even though I've got a B8.5 S4 instead of a C7, your videos are still a gold mine!
    I'm currently with an upgraded heat exchanger, stage 3 unitronic (dual pulley), CTS Turbo intake, and am looking at changing my cat setup.
    If I understand correctly I need to :
    - replace OEM cat pipes with test pipes,
    - get high flow cats (I've had GESi suggested but idk if you'd recommend others) in downpipes further back from the engine
    - later on get a catback exhaust
    All of it sounds quite expensive but I don't want my engine to blow up so it'll be worth it hopefully

    • @AudiC7Owners
      @AudiC7Owners  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, at minimum you need to replace your oem cats with test pipes. If you want other catalytic converters to reduce the smell, install them down your exhaust somewhere else.
      Thanks for the suuport man!

      Whether it’s an improvement or not depends on many things, especially/including driver mod, but it changes the characteristics under lateral weight transfer for sure. How much it comes into play depends on how sharp the curves are. 99% of drivers will never put it into effect but man the 034 Motorsport rear sway bar on my c7 gives me the confidence and control in corners you would only get from way more uprated sports cars.

    There are questions in relation to the catalytic. Is your exhaust line only catalyst removed? Other than that, are you using genuine exhaust? I am currently 207mm crank using a pulley and the S6 original exhaust (60 pipes mm). Looking at the forum, I saw many users increasing the secondary catalyst line by 63mm pipes. I'm worried about the opinion that this has a bad effect on the output of Stage 2 vehicles. I wonder what you think.

I do however have APR tuned exhaust with high flow cats, APR ECW with stage 3 program, RS7 turbos, 034 front control arms, 034 rear sway bar, Girodisc front rotors and performance pads. I have not been able to find an AWD dyno shop near me to find out exactly what I have for HP/torque but it is currently estimated to be north of 760. So if anyone knows of one near Greensboro or Winston Salem, NC please let me know. I don’t really trust mail order software data without the dyno tune for max performance.
      Lastly, I really am trying to determine if I need to sell and go another direction or if I can achieve my desired track performance with this 4,487 lbs car. Any help is greatly appreciated @@AudiC7Owners

    • @michaelbriggs7219

      Sorry, I meant to include the following: mine is a 2016 4.0T, unknown air intake with Dual inlets, and I have been having my work done at Everything Euro in Winston Salem, NC and Tom L indicated I wouldn’t need to worry about an intercooler change as the OEM version works fine for my mods and they have worked on a number similar to mine over the years but I don’t know if I actually asked if the comparison cars were actually tracked cars (HPDE). If it matters, I have not lowered the car any due to the movement demands while track heavy loads - but I would prefer to stiffen the car more as long as I don’t need to change what makes this car so street nice. Hence the reason I am considering going another direction with a much lighter and more specifically a car that had track time in the car design (there are numerous consideration if the cost of more changes will not get me to my desired performance). Please note my car is not only fast but it is quick as well. I just want more to satisfy my post competition racing days.

    • @AudiC7Owners

I would like to make note that I experienced lots of new cabin vibration and a low frequency hum at 70-85 mph with the driveshaft carrier with street bushings. If I could easily go back to stock I would because the noise and vibration is very noticeable. While searching I came across a few other people that experienced the same with the carrier.
