- Pro chef Saúl Montiel from Cantina Rooftop and home cook Lorenzo are swapping recipes and hitting the kitchen to whip up a plate of nachos. We provided Lorenzo with all the ingredients necessary to make chef Saúl’s over-the-top $135 nacho recipe, sending only $13 worth of materials back the other direction. Could our all-star home cook rise to the challenge or did chef Saúl’s nachos reign supreme?

Saul is a national treasure. He has easily become my favorite chef in these series.
For me my favorite pro chefs are frank, Chris and Saul. They're all so great and usually don't deviate from the idea of the dish as much.

I want an ongoing Saul and Lorenzo Show. They make food, make jokes, eat the food, make more jokes. Same format for a Frank and Beth show, with the added element of spoiling the kids/grandkids. And Emily should be a regular guest on both, showing up with ketchup and Canadian beer.
Chef Frank and Beth just teamed up on a video on Frank's channel, and while they were at it, they announced Beth has her own channel, too! Go check them out :) Emily has teamed up for some of Frank's videos as well and I would NOT be surprised if she was a guest on one of Beth's videos some day. If you added Lorenzo and Saul, you'd have the kind of party the police show up to :)

He should add some of his mom or grandmas recipes, but probably like my mexican grandma she wont tell you how to make it and you have to cook w her to get recipes.
And let Lorenzo cook those recipes, they should have a duo UA-cam channel for cooking!
I was so disappointed when I started binging these videos and found out that Saul didn't have a book.
Everyone's talking about Saul's take on Mexican cheese, or impressing himself with his cooking. But nobody's talking about how he straight up just decided that it was Modelo time and handed Lorenzo a beer. Chad energy

I thought Lorenzo was the most charming man in Epicurious because of how he just oozes confidence in everything he does. But I was wrong, Saul just embodies confidence, everything he does just burst with confidence. If you look for the meaning of Confidence and Charming, Saul will probably be there as an example.

Its amazing how much experience and technique can bring to a dish. Lorenzo’s refined cooking skills made the expensive dish shine as its supposed to taste. Then we have Chef Saul always adding that Chef’s kiss to a modest set of ingredients. Wonderful episode, Epicurious!

In here Indonesia, specially in my hometown. We have some kind of Tamales like dish we called Lepet, instead using meat in this dish, we used sweet corn and shredded coconut. Its sweet and delicious.

Saul has so inspired me, now whenever I make ANYTHING, from salsa, to spaghetti, to meatloaf, I ALWAYS char my vegetables first!! So much flavor! Thank you chef!
Saul and Lorenzo are the best combo on this channel, but Saul is just my favorite pro chef to watch here, period.
I enjoy that the home cook is good enough that he's having a good time and we're not frustrated with him, while the professional is creative enough that he makes something new. Delightful energy between these 2.

Hey bro, I have been in the food service industry for about 20 years with experience ranging from prep/line cook to kitchen manager for boh. I have never seen nachos made like you did in that skillet. My recipes for all Mexican dishes came directly from the 'horses mouth' so to speak learning from my fellow cooking homies from Mexico. I just plain love Mexican dishes they taste great, are fun to make, I cannot wait to make nachos like what you just showcased. Thanks for taking the time to make this and other videos.

That Maza Harina brand was always in the kitchen growing up. My grandma & my mom would always make tortillas from scratch and then cut them into tortilla chips for chilaquiles. Also chiles guajillo, chiles anchos, chiles de arbol and chiles serranos were always in the pantry. Watching this is so nostalgic. They both did an amazing job! Both nachos look scrumptious👅🥙💖
