I know you’re expressing your opinion on the name “wash n go” as have I. I personally (privately) call it a “wash m Wait”
But it just occurred to me that wash n set is the term us 60s babies use that term for shampoo and roller set, I get it😉
Last night I shampooed, applied Jane Carter Solution leave in and Melanin Hair leave in and have the softest, shiniest bouncy curls😀
I think you’d like this combo since you’re not hung up by shrinkage❤️🌹

You mentioned porosity, so what is yours? The Pattern styling cream left you hair white, so I’m guessing you are low porosity? Have you tried using gentle cleansers instead of co-washing like Mane Choice Hydrating shampoo, LiveSo shampoo, Camille Rose Ginger Rinse, TreLuxe Curl Renee and Restore cleanser.
Then after conditioning, applying a leave-in and/or moisturizer and putting your hair in a bun to dry for the day. Then the next day or later in the day, use warm water to spray on your hair or re-soak your hair and apply your styler (gel, cream). That process of letting my moisturizer absorb into and nourish my hair, then stretching my hair, then applying my styler the next day on DAMP hair gives me the most hydration and definition.
Contrary to what we’ve been taught on UA-cam, styling on soaking wet type 4 hair with leave-in/moisturizer is not the best way to style type 4 hair. Moisturizer is repelled on type 4 soaking wet hair so it just sits on top.
If you want more definition and longevity, check-out iamblackgirlcurls on Instagram. They have a virtual salon and advocate for styling on soaking wet hair when using gel as a first layer (no leave-in and no moisturizer). Their method is excellent if you tend to use botanical gels and don’t need the extra moisturizer underneath. Uncle Funky’s Daughter and Innersense Organics stylers would be great for your hair if you try this method. All love.

With respect, I disagree. Her hair is about 3C/4A.
For comparison, see the girl in a channel called " Healthy Afro Hair" and see her wash and go. If Jaleessa's is 4C, then that girl's hair is 4Z.
@M M Hmmm.....could be, but even so I dont think it's anything more than 4A texture-wise. Hair typing is clearly not set in stone but bottom line is healthy hair 👍🏽
