- In this video you will learn how to knit a seersucker stitch hat on a round loom from start to finish. This is a beginner video that is great for your first loom knitting project or for advanced loom knitters. This size hat on the 36 peg loom will usually fit ages 2 years old - adults, depending on the length of the hat.
You can use this pattern on any size loom with an even number of pegs. I like the 48 peg (5/8” gauge) Knitting Board loom (amzn.to/2X5z3O6) for larger women or average men. For odd numbered looms, you will have to adjust the pattern.

KNIT ON! ~ Bridget
I just discovered loom knitting and have been watching video after video. Your teaching style is by far the clearest and easiest to follow! Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback!! Happy looming.
Just made this hat for my husband. Love it!! Thank you for sharing!!
Wonderful!
@@TheDavetHomestead. How much is the length of the hat?
I'm definitely going to try this pattern but the hurdle stitch is my favorite. Thank you for sharing 🤗.
I love your videos. I'm learning so much! Thank you.
You are so welcome!
This is a great looking pattern. Also, I love that you have added the pattern above the video. Thanks for posting.
Your videos are perfect for the newbie loomer like myself. I have completed 3 projects using your videos. I’m looking for a good video for fingerless gloves. I haven’t found any that I like. Do you have any recommendations?
Love your videos
Thanks!
I love it too! It looks like it could even be for a Male’s hat. Thanks for the video!
For sure!
I tried skimming the other comments incase you already mentioned, but I'm trying to make a scarf to go with this hat I made! Which turned out amazing btw, thank you! So I was wondering what would the pattern be flat? And I guess would it require an even number of pegs? I hope you can help, I tried googling and only needle knitting results are showing up!! 😭 Lol. Thanks for all your amazing videos!
Do you possibly know what gauge you used on this loom for the yarn. It looks like a charisma bulky #5. I would like to try this. Love your videos. Thank you for sharing
Can this pattern work as a flat panel?
Love the pattern and would like to make a blanket with it
I can definitely see it lying flat. Just knit up a swatch and see.
I have tried to make 2 hats using the 36 peg looms. Both hats are super tight and not big enough for an adult woman's head??
Use the 40 peg 3/4 gauge
This is a perfectly normal experience in the tutorial sphere. Unfortunately. Never use 36 pegs for adults. The second you don‘t e-wrap all it will become too tight for adults.
@@debra2700 You HAVE to ewrap only, and god have mercy on you if your head is wider than the average woman‘s. As I wrote. If your circumference is bigger than 60 cm you need more. 🤷♀️
@@debra2700 Oh, also, in my experience 36 pegs is perfect for socks if you knit flat. Chunky winter socks are awesome. =)
hmm… maybe it depends on the yarn used. I have made a few hats for adult women on a 36 peg loom
How many rows did you do for the hat in the video? Looks like the perfect length and it’s hard to envision how long to make it while it’s still attached to the loom.
I always measure as I go, so I don't really count the rows. Depending on the brand of yarn you are using, the length will be different than the same about of rows with a different yarn... so always measure :)
E-wrap knit stitches relax really quickly into their final shape, so just measure in between. Take your tape measure and get your own size by measuring from the eyebrows over the top of your head and down onto your neck. Half that is your desired length!
I'm just a tad confused. After Row 7-8, you said to repeat rows 1-8 to desire length but what stitching are we repeating? Is it the same stitching as row 7-8?
Hi! If I understand your question correct... you will repeat rows 1-8 over and over until you reach your desired length. You can stop at any point, you don't have to finish all 8 rows.
Can I get written instructions?
can you also do this for a 41 peg loom?
It works with a 4 stitch pattern, so any multiple of 4 works. For the 41 peg loom you will have to add one knit stitch for the last one, then you‘ll be fine.
On rows 7and 8 where it says k2 p1 k3
You only use the k2 at the beginning of these rows ?
Correct. you will start the row out with a K2, then switch to the {P1, K3} repeat, then when you get to the last 2 pegs, you will: P1, K1
Is there a scarf to match???
I don't have one at this time. Sorry.
Is there a downloadable pattern for this hat? I have followed it through the first 8 rows and have to go back and look at video again to see what I need to start over.
I found it easy to write the pattern down as she went along. She speaks slowly and precisely,
