It’s just amazing the new stitches that they’ve come up with or the regular Knitting stitches with the needles, but on the loom knife first started doing the loom. I didn’t see all these fancy stitches. It’s amazing thank you.
I’m back here to watch again. Slay
Great to hear from you again !!!!
Hi Denise(hope i spelled your name right). Ive been looming for over a decade but not until i watched your videos did i make any advancements. Your a great teacher and ive recommended you to anyone whos crafty!! Your my go to loom girl 💗..btw this beanie is my all time favorite..Thanks so Much
as the administrator of a loom knitting group, each month I offer a Challenge Yourself Project....this month, we are doing this hat!! I love the video because it is so clear. the only problem I had was that it was shorter than I like. I used 2 strands of Red Heart Yarn together as one so that might have been the problem. I made a chart for each row and what stitches went on each row and marked it off as I did it...it works up fast and pretty!! thanks for another great video!!
+Nancy Taylor Hi Nancy - thanks so much for including my design. I REALLY appreciate it. Give us a link to the group
+LoomaHat.com thanks Denise!! here is the link...facebook.com/groups/loomknitonly/
I really like this stitch. I have made two hats watching your videos! Thanks so much for making it super easy to understand.
It's SO EASY
Several of my girls at work have noticed my knitted items.... and asked me to make them some! They are really great and sweet girls. So of course I couldn't say no! This hat (and maybe also scarf) will be added to the list for sure. LOVE the pattern. Thanks again hon!!
Toni - this is one of my favorite. If you happen to have the 48 peg loom from KK or CinDwood.... works way better
Can't wait to make this! I always get excited when I see a new hat video!
I just finished one of these in sage green. It looks great! Thank you.
+LongmontJeni Thank you for the Thank you Jeni. Very much appreciated !
I did this but knitted the brim and folded it over and then started this stitch, it came out great.
Sounds VERY nice - how many rows to you end up needing to make that variation?
Wow oh wow! I just absolutely Love your videos. This Farrow stitch will probably be my next hat and scarf. Denise you are fabulous with what you do!😇 Keep up the great work!!!
Thank YOU 😊
That's one whacky pompom! Lol! Love it! I just had a knee replacement and am home recovering, so I'm doing a lot of knitting. You're my favorite loom teacher. Hope you are in an area that is warm...it's COLD here in Ohio!
+Liz Feick Yep - Sunny S. Florida out low for this COLD day with 48 - by 4 pm it was in the 70s :) - Go to Ohio all the time - only during the summer to visit family in Cinci - Go Buckeyes

Made this hat today in 2 tone. Love it!
Sounds awesome !
Gratidão por esse canal maravilhoso...estou aprendendo muito com você,sou brasileira e é a minha primeira vez trabalhando com tear circular,e estou amando,já sou artesã,trabalho com chinelos customizados...parabéns por ensinar com tanta paciência....
Love this hat❤
Thank YOU !
love this and it is because I love it because i LOVE KNITTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did end up buying the martha stewart loom kit and loving it. so working on figuring out the peg set up... ;)
Let me know how it goes - very curious
It is most assuredly being a trial and tribulation lol. Decided to practice the stitch a bit first.... and it's just not looking right for some reason.... :o
If a slip knot is too difficult for you..go take a nap I am ornery tonight lol maybe I should go take a nap or just knit something : )
I love this hat.
I just finished beanie #2 using this stitch (one on 41 pegs and one on the 40 peg KB hat loom)! Both are beautiful! I like this stitch on the Kb loom.
Ps... Thank you!
Carmen Harper with your 41 peg loom what did you do with the rows that were Purl 1, knit 2 because it ends up to have 3 knit at the end.
julie latendresse : for the 41 pegs, I followed Denise's pattern under the video description which left me with only 2 pegs at the end of each row like in the pattern. Row 1 should end with 2 purls and row 2 should end with 2 knits.
the only other reasons that I can think of why you have 3 pegs at the end of the p1, k2 row is maybe you forgot to knit or purl a peg somewhere in the pattern or if the pattern is done on a 42 peg loom. Just a suggestion and I'm no expert, I would just finish the last 3 pegs you have with p1, k2. It should be barely noticeable unless you're a perfectionist! :)
I hope I helped!
I'm using a smaller gauge loom and this hat is never-ending. What was the length of your hat when you decided to end it? I'm far past 36 rows total...40 right now and it looks too short. Only 5 inches in length.
I will be doing this one. Looks very easy. Thanks Denise you are fantastic alwas. Can you make a sweater for a dog that is different than what other have. Big hugs to you
HELLO DENISE , YOUR VIDEOS AND TUTORIALS ARE JUST AWESOME VERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND AND FOLLOW.CAN YOU DO A TUTORIAL ON SCRAP YARN. I HAVE A LOT OF SCRAP YARN AND DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THEM .SOME SCRAPS ARE BIGGER THAN OTHER . I NEED YOUR HELP . THANK YOU FOR SHARING. LOOKING FOWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU .
Sure there are lots of stuff you can make . Here are my favorites: www.loomahat.com/tiny-kitty , www.loomahat.com/comfort-dolls , www.loomahat.com/knit-squares you can sew them together to make all kinds of stuff
Love, love this hat. But where will I find the “fun fur”? This is definitely your calling. You ‘re AWESOME!
Thank YOU 😘 - I get mine at Joanne’s and Amazon
The second row is 1 purl 2 knits . Peg 37 is a purl . So 38 & 39 are a knit. So it leaves peg 40 and 41. What i did is peg 40 a purl and 41 a knit.
Denise i'm a bit confused the Matching hat, the stitches are Row 1: Purl 2, Knit 1 (Purl last 2 stitches) --- Row 2: Purl 1, Knit 2 until last stitches... But on the scarf going to the right purl 2, knit 1
going to the left knit 2, purl 1
so it this correct my hat is a bit different then what yours looks like.
Thanks
No problem - enjoy
1-2-3 (p,k,k) 4-5-6 ( p,k,k) 7-8-9(p,k,k) 10-11-12(p,k,k) 13-14-15(p,k,k) 16-17-18 (p,k,k) 19-20-21(p,k,k) 22-23-24(p,k,k) 25-26-27(p,k,k) 28-29-30 (p,k,k) 31-32-33 (p,k,k) 34-35-36(p,k,k) 37-38-39(p,k,k) it leaves me 2 pegs. If i knit the last 2 it will give me 4 knits in a row. Is this what we should do? Or am i making a mistake somewhere? What i did purl peg 40 and knit 41
I’m doing it for the first time and 36 rows were just not enough , the hat was really short . Was really excited to see my first project but was disappointed:(
She won't respond to you if you criticize her and because she insists on using a 41 peg loom on every project the extra pegs at the end of every pattern make the hats look bad anyways.
36 rows looked a little short to me so I added 10 more rows and was the perfect .
merci infiniment je suis ters heureuse de pouvoir parler avec vous . j aime boucoup votre chaîne . Grâce à vous j'ai réaliser de beaux Hat et escarf
Merci!
How would one go about making this an earflap hat? Or if that could be a future video that'd be awesome!
Hi Denise, I’m 2 months new to loom knitting (or any yarn craft) and want to thank you for all your videos, they have helped a lot with getting started. Sorry I’m also new to UA-cam and commenting on here. These are probably dumb questions but I couldn’t find the answers anywhere - can you tell me does it matter whether you go clockwise or counterclockwise on the loom (is it the same stitch regardless). My rib stitch turned out funny and I wonder if my problem was I went backwards. Also, how come the farrow stitch looks different in the round than flat panel? Thanks so much.
Hi - depending on the design of the pattern and it's complexity - it does matter - but for simple stitches and most of my designs - it does not. I recommend starting with projects that better suited for beginners. With the rib stitch specifically - the direction doesn't matter. I recommend using stitch markers ua-cam.com/video/Y4053wZwm1o/v-deo.html and this video ua-cam.com/video/P31l7QDSR_w/v-deo.html
LoomaHat.com
Thank you Denise. I love your stitch markers. Too much work for me to make my own but I did get the plastic ones and need them because I keep forgetting where I was. Good to know it doesn’t matter which way to knit. So in looking at some of your videos and at some of my hats, I see that the one I thought was wrong is the same stitch as in your video. I guess I thought a rib stitch is supposed to have the V pattern (1K,1P) I see you like the U knit stitch a lot. The ewrap is easiest but I know it’s loose. I just made a hat on the 41 peg loom using flat stitch and purl for the rib on brim and it turned out smaller than on a 36 peg loom on which I did the farrow stitch (I used e wrap knit stitch) brim (so the farrow stitch looks different on a hat than on a scarf (it looks amazing on your blue scarf video, I was thinking the hat would be same but was not, although nice but not as nice as scarf)? Do all stitches turn out different on a flat panel?) is there a one BEST knit stitch to use for all hats? Or a best cast on (I think I like the true cable but haven’t tried them all). I’m so sorry for asking so many questions, I am quite addicted to looming already and want to learn everything. It takes many hours to finish a project only to discover something didn’t turn out how I thought it would, so trying to find answers before I start (have pulled out too much already). But too many questions, I promise to try not bother you again.
Thanks again and you are awesome and so are your videos!
Could I use a cindwood 1/2 50 peg round loom with No 5 yarn,
I have learned so much from your videos.
Mary
Hi Denise!😘I was wanting to make my son a red white blue hat and possibly use this pattern. Can you help me figure that out? Thanks for all you do for us to make looming Soooooo much fun!!
Hi Cathy - some self stripping yarn would be an easy and safe option
LoomaHat.com thank YOU❤
Hi!!! I have a question my loom has 36 pegs So I always have one page left over what should I do with it the first half that I did watching this video turned out OK halfway up but then something changed and I’m not sure what
Thanks.
Is there a way to add a brim to this? My sister wants a pattern similar to this but with a brim and a furry pompom
How does this work for a 40 peg loom? For the end stitches?
she posted it yesterday
I loved the look of this pattern so much that I decided to do it even though I was probably too much of a beginner to be able to do it perfectly at first. I really wanted to learn a rib pattern for a brim that was a little more interesting than just the basic P1, K1. Fortunately, I quickly figured out what the stitches looked like from the reverse side so that I didn’t have count from the first peg every time I got distracted and forgot where I was. 🙃 This ought to be a great stitch for helping improve my ability to concentrate over time. But I would appreciate advice on how to use stitch markers to help keep on track with a pattern like this. I noticed stitch markers every four pegs in the video, but I don’t know how that would help with this particular pattern. P2, K1 on odd rows and P1, K2 on the even. It amazes me how easily I can get distracted and forget in the middle of doing two stitches on whether I already did two of them or not, especially when it comes to purling for some reason. 🫢😁
I so want to make this! Great video!!
+Java Junkie Go for it - let me know if you get stuck or have any questions
so is it 2 purls at the end off every row ? or do i knit the end of the 2nd rows?
Mine didn't turn out like yours..but it still looks good! :)
I've done this pattern twice and don't get the texture she gets. :)
missthemusicinme mine isn’t coming out the way hers is either
I followed the pattern but mine was nothing like yours
Can I make this with a brim
Hi Denise, can I make this on a 36 peg loom?
I love the look of this hat. Just finished it on the KK purple loom and it's really tight☹. Any suggestions?
+susan lentz Hey Susan - it depends on how chunky your yarn is and remember that the 48 is a smaller circumference then the 41
Thanks Denise. I was using the same yarn from the video. I'm going to try a 5, for a few rows and see how that works. Fingers crossed😄.
Hi there... Can anybody give me a measurement on how long the base of this beanie should be? I understand 36 rows But can I get a measurement? I'm using a 41p loom with Malabrigo Rasta yarn size 6. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
How can I obtain a pdf copy of this pattern? The link doesn’t work.
Hello Denise,
On my loom, I can only have an even number of pegs.Is it a problem ?
Will this work on a 36. Peg loom
Can i make this hat on a 36 peg loom for a kid
Yep- should work perfect. But you might want to reduce the number of rows.
How many rows is this cat? I count just from looking at this picture 22. My hat that I'm doing now has 22 rows but seems if I take it off the loom will be to small. What am I doing wrong?
Hi Phyllis - it can depend on the yarn or the knitter - if it still looks small - add another 3 to 4 rows and you should be fine
I finally found the yarn at walmart. It's called fruity print.
THANK YOU !
Can the e-wrap be used instead of the u-wrap?
The hat will look very different
love this texture.
did you use hometown usa in Washington denim?
I really want this color.
+vegangelist Yep - has a nice sheen that you can't really see on the picture or the video.
+LoomaHat.com I've got gobs of hometown USA (in part because of a recent Wal-Mart sale on three packs) but the Washington denim is the color I didn't get - my one regret (well, that and Savannah sage).
There are a billion color choices. SO many that I NEVER knew about till I looked online.
The Montpelier peacock is one of my newest faves.
LOVE this yarn ! Going to check out M.peacock .and Savannah sage.. cause now you gave me an excuse to go to the store :) ... That's what Loomies are for. ...
Hi...good work..I have a size 6 yarn and want to make one hat for my father who is a senior..can I make it.on 36 or need to use 41?
Hi Manu - don’t use a 36 with #6 yarn for an adult- it will be way too tight. The 41 looks like a really big loom it your hat will fit nicely.
Amazing video, good, good Teacher. I will do a hat with this pattern. Thank you very much fro sharing :)
Thank YOU Leticia - let me know how it turns out. Note I've had several folks tell me they had to add more rows - so I would suggest adding a few more rows to the pattern.
Thanks for the information :). I would like to do the hat for my husband, but unfortunately I didn't found Bulky Yarn, I only found super Bulky Yarn. I know that this Yarn is not so good for hats, but if I do the hat with this Yarn I will have problems? Other question, it´s possible to do this pattern in a 24 and 36 Pegs Loom with other Yarn, for example (wool or cotton- medium Yarn)? I would like to do this pattern for my baby and my daugthers?
I will wait for your answer.
Thanks you very much,
Letícia
hi can i use the 36 pegs loom for this beanie?
Not a good idea if you're making the hat for an adult
These girls are making beanies that have an opening for the top knot. I can't find instructions anywhere! Does anyone know where I might find a video? They are using a loom. Thanks!
Instead of sintching it all the way closed leave it open a little ans then use elastic to close it more so that it's stretcy
hola Ms loom hat .com
you said you have THE SCARFT FOR THE
Farrow Stitch Beanie Hat. CAN YOU SHOW ME WHERE IT IS PLEASE
+caroline m. Thanks for asking - hoping to have it done by tonight
thank you soo much ms loomahat you a bless to me i like the way you show your video and you a very clear. god bless you always
Is there a variation for this pattern on a 40 peg loom?
Claire the pattern should work the same for your 40 peg loom - just elimante the last stitch. The pattern will still look exactly the same.
la fine del primo giro termina con due rovesci e il secondo giro termina sempre con due rovesci ?help me!!!!
Can this be made in kids sizes? Like for a 2 and 4 year old?
+Kyshann Raison Yes - adjust the number of rows - Here is a guide www.loomahat.com/loom-size - use you judgement to exact number
Hi, is this hat considered to be unisex? Im a guy and I really like this hat without the pom pom, but I dont wanna make it and wear it out and people think Im wearing a girls hat.... lol
Also would there be any issues if I used three colors and make it striped?
My apologies for questions, Ive only knitted a couple things so Im still a newbie.
Yes its unisex - but add more rows like at least 5 - 3 colors would be great - oddly enough I saw it on a guy with these 3 colors - white, gray and burgundy - looked GREAT
Hello Denise, i have a 41 peg loom. The first is ok to finish it with 2 purl but the second row will end up with 3 knit. Is it ok ?
Julie - I'm a bit confused about you question because this pattern was worked on a 41 peg loom so you don't need to make any adjustments to the pattern: loomahat.com/farrow-stitch-hat
Denise, you didn't mention on the video what to do with the extra two pegs on row 2. But I think what you meant was that you purl any extra pegs that you have, no matter what row you are on. That way, it makes the ribs on the one side.
LoomaHat.com Hi Denise, like Ambryhawke said, in the video you say to end Row 1 with 2 purls. Then you say to end Row 2 with 2 knits. (It’s not in the written pattern - you say it in the video.) That makes 4 knits at the end of row 2 on a 41 peg loom. I followed that and ended up with one section with no rib. So she must be right that you meant to purl the last two stitches on both row 1 and 2?
Also I did 44 rows total for a 9 inch hat - a tight beanie. I will add an inch on the next one. 36 rows is way too short.
I love your videos, I’ve learned so many new but easy stitches that look great! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and skills!
how many rows?
ciao..ma la fine del primo giro termina con due rovesci,e il secondo giro termina con un rovescio e un dritto?
Hi - io non so parlare italiano
If the first round ends with two reverses, how does the second round end?
what size will this fit? n can a cuff be made for this hat?
Hi Samantha - yes you can make a brim - and it's a stretchy stitch pattern and will fit everyone from a 5 year old to 105 year old
will it work on a 36 peg loom? i accidentally started with row 2 n worked back to one i changed n added an e wrap brim, thanks i need a size 7-1/2 inch hat
Samantha - you will need to do a swatch to figure out the number of rows - your questions require a whole new pattern - this is the one available : www.loomahat.com/farrow-stitch-hat/
Will it fit 7yrs old?
+Djulescraze Yes - I would decrease the number of rows to about 30 - unless you want it really slouchy
Can i use 36 pegs?
Hi Toto - I would say only if you're making one for a child.
O vidiio poderia ser mas espricado pois está rápido demais
Hola como estas, muy lindo el gorro y fácil de hacer pero te extraño en Como Telar que es en español muchas bendiciones para ti.

I'm starting this tonight Denise @da_moley
+britsluver Can't wait to see the pic on Instagram. :)
I made this hat step by step, but I noticed it was to short so i added two more double rows . I turned to short even for a girl. Don't understand what happened.
It might be the yarn ...
how many rows?
