Hi Andy. I watch all of your videos. I have learned so much from them. I love your easy going style and that you take care to do quality craftsmanship. Keep them coming!
Absolutely brilliant video Andy, you have just saved me miles of work templating foam core thank you so much for this video. I cannot believe I can still learn something new every day . The wealth of knowledge out there is astonishing. All the best, Rossco
I just started my first stitch and glue. Your videos have been very informative. But more than that I have learned a lot from your problem solving skills, and processes. Enjoying the videos!
Just wanted to thank you wish y'all happy holidays, you have inspired me to take more time in my craft and in my boat to do the best I possibly can to do it rite the first time these videos mean a lot to people like us. Keep up the good work you are appreciated
Amazing, Andy! I always look to you and Boatworks Today for advice and once again your handling of this situation is well thought out and practical. What hot melt gun are you using there? I often use hot melt in my line of work but have most often only used the cheep-o products that ooze glue and then build up on the plastic/rubberized tip. The one you are using looks more substantial and ... well ... professional.
You are frigging awesome i,m not a boaty person but if i saw the information that you are giving out forty years ago i would have paddled an inner tube across the Atlantic ocean, and been knocking on your door just to learn your knowledge. To all the ones with expensive boats (money) and not contributing shame on you.I only came across you because i'm building a fibre glass kit car.
Very Nice work .... When are you going to start on your side project .... Was looking forward to see how you progressed with that old boat and to see what I can apply to my old power boat project?
You mentioned a flexible epoxy. I’m redoing the floors on my 70 schiada flat bottom ski boat. And I was wondering if you could recommend an epoxy? I set the strings with West system and 207. Floors are 3/8 marine mahogany ply to factory fiberglass hull. And I’ll be using a vacuum to set the panels. I’m wanting something extremely strong but flexible. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for all the great videos! 👍🏼🙏
Costs man, we want to know what all this cost to do! How much for the lumber, how much to ship that massive box? How much will the teak cost shipped to you? Anyway, that was amazing, I would have given myself a stroke trying to figure out how to measure all that surface.
Andy, I'm really curious to what a job like this cost?? Based on your videos, I know you spend a great deal of time on each boat and it's clear you do quality work. May I ask what a job like this runs??
Thanks for sharing Andy. Do you if the material you used for the template would also be called fiberboard? Thanks again. Will be looking forward to you getting the deck shipped back and put down. 👍👍👍👍👍 😊
Not sure which "level" of fiberboard you are looking at but as fiberboard is usually made of wood fibers and a lot of glue it can get quite dense. The more dense the stronger the material but it also adds a lot of weight. What it looks like Andy is using is, what we call in the Great Lakes region, lauan (loo-ahn) or underlayment which, as taken from the HD website, is 1/8" thick, with an actual measurement of 0.106" in thickness. It, in many cases is more flexible than fiberboard and much lighter in weight.
your videos are very good for the clarity in explaining the more complex details. What do you think of TotalBoat products? Have you ever tried it? would recommend? Thanks
Nice work Andy. Wasn't this done a while ago? I seem to recall seeing an earlier video of the decking being delivered. Perhaps that was a different project.
Hey Andy !, awesome series so far :) , i did notice that boat behind you in your outro, any chance of any information about it ? hehe i'm guessing its the result of an I/O to Outboard conversion ? hanks
HI Andy, didn't you already have the teak deck delivered for this boat or is this a different boat all together? I'm as confused as a baby in a top less bar!
Hi Andy. I watch all of your videos. I have learned so much from them. I love your easy going style and that you take care to do quality craftsmanship. Keep them coming!
Andy, you take a complex & challenging problem and guide us through your practical solution. Genius!
As someone at Boat Building School this is a very neat template making tip. Thanks
That was really cool! I never thought to make templates like that. Thanks for the informative video!
Learning the Lines this would great on an Irwin 52 Centre cockpit boat

Great to see a new video, I have done templates before, yours was much easier. Enjoy the snow, looks like you have more than we do in the Twin Cities!
WeeOWW! Nicely done! Can't wait to see the final deck lay-down!

Never seen this method used before, but I liked it! Easy, fast and accurate. Thank you :)
Amazing job you do. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
Hi Andy,
how do I find the next video in this series about this teak deck??

Great video Andy. I guess you marked all the templates with matchup points after you cut them up for shipping?
Finally something close to me! I am less than 2hrs from Sarasota 👌🏽

Love it. I live in Sarasota Florida . Keep the vids coming!
Very interesting didn't think it worked out that way.
Nice use of glue gun, always pondering how I can use that tool more, appreciate it. "Glue tabs" are cool!
Yes "fairing tabs"!!
P.S. Who on earth are the 2 people that gave this a thumbs down!?!?

That's gonna be beautiful! I'm sure.
Great instructions Andy.

Hi Todd! This will all be explained in the next video (which is already done and ready for next week :-) Have a great weekend!
Nice job Andy!!
what are your thoughts on synthetic teak decking ? (NUTEAK)
as always very informative and thorough!!! thank you....
If the boat would be at that teak manufacturer, would they use a different technique than using templates?
i would like to see how those pasterns are actually laid up at the shop in florida
I believe I have pics of that, have to check my drives. If so I'll include them in an 'end of project' overview video :-)

As always, great video. Thank you!

HaHa, I'll explain all of this in the next video :-) Next week!
Brilliant love the tabs on the curve SV/Fat Bottom Girl
great work!!
is this your building or do you rent
amazing
You are gooood, Andy :-)
Linda vocesita😄🫠
Did he ever say how much it cost to have that company make his deck?
imo at this day and age there would be no reason to install a teak deck with the sole exception it is a wooden boat.
