As a driver just want to add something most people never see, when directing to move forward you hand is level with your face from the drivers view in the mirror and roughly 75 feet away. if you hold hand slightly to the side it is easier to see by far. Notice when lifting to stop driver reacted immediately, it was easier to see as you lifted it.That was a large crate for sure can't wait to that deck installed...
Nice work sir. Cant wait to see it installed. I am looking at a Cat that has no teak on the deck. Thinking of installing it in cockpit, and on sugar scoops. Cant decide if I want real teak, or the synthetic.
Well, to be honest, I am a wood guy also. My first ship while I was in the Navy had a teak quarterdeck...always like it. But the lazy guy in me is looking at the synthetic for the ease of maintenance. :)
Hi Andy, Amazing channel. Q: Where can I find teak and holly flooring panels for my kitchen floor? I want it to look like a boat galley. It is only 12"x8". Thanks
Andy- can you post a ball park figure of what these teak decks cost - not your fee but what you paid the company in Florida to have them constructed from the Templates? thanks
I'll be putting together a "lite" version of the templates I made for this project here on YT. The full version will be available for Patreon supporters. Have not edited the video yet, but will be putting it out in a couple weeks!!
Yet another great video! Great recording colours. How thick is the new teak? I see it comes presampled. Did You do a lot og messurement or could You order it as a layout for just that boat?
Hi Ken, the new deck is roughly 5/8" thick. TDS makes each deck custom to a set of templates that is made and sent them (I did this part back in Feb). I'll be putting together a "lite" version of the template process here on YT in a couple weeks!
It's TeakDecking Systems out of Sarasota, Fl.. Their link is in the description, check them out if you're in the market!! Can't say enough good things about them!!!!
One of the skids on the bottom of the crate got hung up on the semi bed as he was pulling away. Could have pulled the crate off the trailer we were loading onto, or pulled the fork lifts over :-O That would have been a very bad day....
Nice job getting that big crate off the truck without damage. Looks like it will be intersting getting the long pieces onto the boat.
Talk about coordination! Well done all. The teak looks fantastic!
Thanks Travis! Didn't sleep much the night before :-/.. But it all went very smooth :-) !!!!

Wow! what a job. good thing that you have all of that fancy equipment to use for moving the crate.
Fantastic teamwork!
I remember doing a teak deck 40 something years ago, times have changed, looks like a fun project
Wow there is nothing small or simple about this whole project. Look forward to seeing you fit the jigsaw pieces together. Good luck!
Bloody hell! - I can't imagine how many times you must have checked the templates:-)
Just coming to this channel and I am learning a lot - thanks.
quite the jigsaw puzzle !
don't think I didn't notice that case of Miller lite @ 5:50 LOL! You should have called I live for unloading!
Ah! I didn't notice that either while editing!!! That was on hand for the end of the day ;-)
I never miss beer 30! Too bad it snowed today.... I can't even think about heading that way under those conditions! blegh!
I think that came with the pallet :P

Really comes down to personal preference :-) Personally I'm a wood guy so that's what I would choose, but both would made nice accents!

Looks great can't wait to see it on the boat!
Andy awesome channel and work. Do you have any updates about this project ?
Thanks pascal

I can't wait to see that installed.
Me too!!! The waiting is killing me!
Nail biting stuff :-) Well done.

nice ive never seen it pre cut like that
I bet that smelled lovely when you opened that crate.
That seems like way too much trouble. 😏
How hard would it be to do a mounded faux-teak deck, like on an Amel?
Andy- can you post a ball park figure of what these teak decks cost - not your fee but what you paid the company in Florida to have them constructed from the Templates? thanks
Holy moly! How did you measure all the cutouts? Jeeze! I'd be sweating bullets to see if it all lined up!

The semi scene that was sped up caught me off guard at first, I was like dam that guy is a maniac, than i realized and was LOL.
where is the video where you fix the deck coring on this boat? I can find every other video before but not that series.
Hey mate, can you please do a project involving, (diagnosing rot in stringers, transom etc) (rebuilding stringers, floor)
All I can say is...WOW!
So how would I go about getting a quote on some repairs?
Hey Andy nice job.. Are those green machines yours or did you rent them??? Jack
Hi Jack, the tractor is mine but the big fork lift and hydraulic trailer is my shop neighbor's :-)

Where’s the installation video?

Thanks Wild Bill!!
Who knew unloading a truck could be so complicated!!??
Can only image the cost.
I really hope he discloses the cost of this and the shipping. I bet its going to look fantastic.
This is why I'm having Flexiteek installed on my boat.
Awsome
Unbelievable!
Thanks Ray!
Nice job! I may have missed it and I apologize but could you please let me know your teak deck supplier, thanks.

Wow! A real nail biter.
Well...you can't say they didn't package that thing well...WOW...They really didn't want to pay for shipping damage!! (That's a good thing). LOL...
Teak Decking Systems?
Link to their website is in the description :-)
ahha! That reading bit gets me every time:) I thought it looked like one of their products. My wife's uncle is Alan B. from teakdecking.
Love your videos btw. I'm starting to restore my Vixen RV with the fiberglass techniques you're taught me.
I spent a week with Alan and the crew last October!! Small world!! Great company and group of people
That's awesome! If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me !! Good luck :-)
The real question is what actually happened as per the thumbnail?
One of the skids on the bottom of the crate got hung up on the semi bed as he was pulling away. Could have pulled the crate off the trailer we were loading onto, or pulled the fork lifts over :-O That would have been a very bad day....
Yikes!!! Glad it worked out in the end. Looking forward to following along :)
