I want to buy a new circuit board for my old frigidair washing machine that has an 8 options selector button, but the board is no longer available, only a 9 option selector for a newer model. It looks exactly the same when it comes to size and attachment points and all, so I wonder if the new board would still work even though it has 9 options instead of 8. Life-hack-style.

Hello, I did everything but it seems that the pointy part that’s actually turning is also not responding and not the knob, i cleaned it like you said and still, what do you suggest?

Is there a part number for that switch? In case the cleaner does not work, it might be worth while to replace just the switch instead of the whole board.

Sure wish you would have shown how to get the selector knob off! I have the LG WM3670HWA and cannot get the knob off to clean the contacts like shown in your video.
I think it was really hard to get mine off also and I used a flathead screwdriver to gently pry the knob off of the plastic stem.
Just take your time and push a little bit on each side of the knob as you wiggle it off.

Mine did this right out of the box brand new. Never bothered to contact LG because we normally just use the normal strain cycle now I need a an electric dryer and probably will not buy LG.

I think it’s time to buy a new selector. You can use your model number to find a selector switch online👍
