What’s your favorite Vitamix appliance? Which one are you using now? If you don’t already have a Vitamix what is your dream blender? What is your favorite thing to make in your Vitamix?
I just purchased the e310, & I don't like it. I'm going to return it for the a2500 (which I ordered already). But had I known, about the a3300 (which was $50 less). I would've ordered that one. It's so overwhelming when ordering vitamix blenders, because you really don't know which one to get.
I purchased my 5200 back in 2009, and it still runs perfectly. I have been through two 64 oz containers since I purchased it. No matter how hard you try, you can't keep it pristine and it just clouds up and impossible to clean. I removed the blades and kept them, putting the containers in the recycle bin. Purchased the stainless steel container and couldn't be happier. Soups get hot faster, cold drinks stay cold, blends great and easy to clean. Be great if they came out with a 64 oz someday. Happy blending!
In defense of Vitamix providing a tamper with the stainless steel container... The 48oz stainless steel container will work with the both of the legacy and Ascent model blenders. Many of the legacy model blenders happened to have a taller containers, with a taller tampers to match. Todays Vitamix low profile containers are designed to fit on the kitchen counter under the cabinet. The shorter containers need a shorter tamper.
I wasn’t actively look for this but I’m glad I found it. I’ve been changing all my plastic with glass or stainless steal. Micro plastics can contribute to Hashimotos autoimmunity, which I have. Thanks for the review
Half the satisfaction of my smoothies is watching our Vitamix blend things to a creamy, smooth texture. I will just have to accept the risk that the non-BPA plastic is as safe as it’s been touted for being all these years .. or at least not that harmful. They can indeed find safe glass material for their manufacturing needs tho . (I.e. Pyrex)
My understanding about Tritan plastic is that it’s specifically designed to be resistant to hot liquids in terms of releasing its components into the food. Is stainless steel safer, well yeah it’s literally made of nutrients like iron and chromium. But I wouldn’t be quick to say that Tritan is necessarily dangerous or bad, I don’t know of any studies that prove this. It does not contain any bisphenol analogues of any kind according to the manufacturer. However, it is true they don’t specify what they actually use to make it, so it’s a mystery exactly what it’s made of. “Plastics with codes 3 and 7 are predicted to affect testosterone and estrogen receptor activity” resin code 7 is a catchall, so it contains a variety of unrelated plastics, including Tritan. Just because the code is 7 does not mean it has these effects.
I’m glad that they did not leave the tamper out as I needed the new tamper due to mice knawing at my old one when I had a mice problem when I had.a prolonged time away from my mobile home a couple of years ago.
have the markings on the inside of the steel container began to come off yet? wouldn't that be dangerous as it is an unknown substance going into ur food?
You are possibly ingesting more toxic chemicals via your haircare and make up products. So before you abandon these plastics, remember that all medical blood and blood products are handled in PVC pouches, the worst type of plastics for migration of compounds..
a very helpful review, thank you! I ended up purchasing the container. what are your thoughts Plastic #1 PET? trying to find a good option for pure drinking water as the tap water in my area isn't good (just moved) and I am looking for options. Thanks!
Hi William! Glad you found the review helpful! While plastic isn't great #1 is not the worst and is better than not filtering your water. Using a Britta or equivalent water filtration device even though it is plastic will still be better for your health than not filtering your water. Water is quite contaminated these days and we need to minimize our exposure to what can be found in poor quality drinking water. Plastics 1, 2, 4 & 5 are "better" but not great. You just don't want acidic, oily or hot liquids in them. You will be filtering cold water so that is good. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. 😊

I’m loving the need to own the stainless Steel container but if it gets too hot or too cold as you mentioned and it does have a warning label for the just in case, it would be nice if vita mix made some type of silicone rubber bands to hug the handle and the container for your convenience what do you think?

Hi there ma'am. I've been looking for a while, can't seem to get a straight answer. Does this SS 48oz container do small batches like the 32 oz container?
@@NaturalLivingwithZenana Thank you for such a prompt response. 😊. I've seen people makes 1 to 2 cups of frozen fruit sorbet (no liquid) in the 32 oz for example. Smaller 1 to 2 cup servings of nut butters. The MINIMUM amount on the low profile 64oz requires such large quantities of ingredients for thick blends. Trying to figure out if I could skip the 32oz and get the 48oz SS, since I've read that the bottom portion is similar in size. (Same 3" blade as well.)
I think you could! It is much narrower at the base for sure. I totally get your problem. It's so hard to make small quantities in the 64 oz. The blades just spin and everything is caught down below them. The stainless steel 48oz seems to be a more practical size especially if you plan to blend smaller recipes. Did you already buy it? Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I asked Vitamix and they said "The household stainless steel container is not matched to be used with the commercial Vita Prep 3." So there you go! Hope that helps. :)
@@NaturalLivingwithZenana Thanks so much Zenana, I really appreciate you've helped me! This is the same answer I got from them in the meantime.. And this is why I am not going to buy a vitaprep3.. Thanks again!
Hi Chris. Yes, the tampers are almost identical. The shape of the new tamper I got with my Stainless Steel cannister is a little different in shape but the length from where it goes into the lid is the same or possibly very minutely different. If I could attach a photo I could show you but it doesn't seem to give you that option here. Like I said in the video, I don't think they really need to include one with the Stainless Steel cannister because you will already have one from when you purchased your original Vitamix. In fact, I like the original tamper better. The one that comes with the Stainless Steel cannister has a weird shape at the top that seems like it doesn't fit quite right. But that's just my opinion. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any more questions. 😊
I'm trying to figure out under cupboard counter size - I currently have the a3500 with the 64oz pitcher that came with it, so I was wondering how much shorter/taller would it be if I replaced it with the stainless steel 48oz pitcher?
Hi E.M. The stainless steel container is actually a little bit shorter than the Tritan container. The stainless steel container has dimensions of 6.5 x 8 x 10 inches and the 64 ounce low-profile Tritan container says 10.2 inches. So more than likely the stainless steel container will be shorter than your Tritan container even if you don't have the low-profile version. Hope that helps! Good question! @Jadd612 I don't know the answer to that question but I can find out for you. The stainless steel container has dimensions of 6.5 x 8 x 10 inches and the 48 ounce Tritan container just say 10.25 inches. I will get back to you when I get more details on this.

Hi Manjesh. Very good point! I will look into that and get back to you. Rubber is actually natural so might not be bad but if it is plastic I would have concerns as well. Thanks so much for watching and for sharing your feedback!
Personally, as a person who keeps a kosher diet, I wish that Vitamix used GLASS and STAINLESS STEEL containers, not TRITAN BPA-free PLASTIC. I can kosher metal and glass so long as there no rubber or plastic pieces that come into contact with the food since the blades are part of the containers and can't be easily removed.
Ah, yes. I hear you Robert. Glass and stainless steel are best for all of us for so many reasons. Let's all encourage Vitamix to go that route. The more voices like ours they hear the better! Can you use silicone? Or is that out too?
@@NaturalLivingwithZenana, your question requires a complicated answer as most "Jewish questions" do, especially centering "kashrut" (keeping kosher).
