Stainless salad spinner with a stainless strainer, keeping my eyes open! One brand that used to have one, backslid wnd went back to a plastic basket. So. I expect to see one soon!
Oh, and I'm really liking my Reduce water bottle that I bought at Target. It does have a little bit of plastic on the lid but is mostly stainless steel and I take the lid off to drink from the plastic-free part. I also only use it for cold beverages.
This is such good info Zenana, thank you! I feel like it's important to bring this up because we get so used to what we have been using forever, like plastic bags, and it's hard to know what to do instead! And YES!!! WE CAN SEND A POWERFUL MESSAGE WHEN WE VOTE WITH OUR $$$$$!!!! If we all start making different purchasing choices we will make a big difference. I am very interested in getting the stainless option for my Vitamix. I have one of the plastic ones and I put my hot tea in it to blend up my morning drink often! Yikes! Also, I'm with you on the beeswax wraps from Trader Joe's. I tried to start using those and they were a little tough to get used to. Maybe I just need to give it more time? But, thanks for all of the other great options!
You're welcome! Glad I'm not the only one who couldn't get into the wraps. I am going to try another brand and also see what other options are out there. Let me know when you want to get the stainless steel blender and I can get you my link to buy it with free shipping. I will also keep you in mind in case there are any specials coming up on the stainless steel container. Keep voting with your dollars sister! 🙌🙏🌎
Never reuse Zip top bags! They will leach worse if you do. I had a bunch, but I pulled them from the kitchen, and used them to organize craft supplies.
Not intentionally lined with BPA, this is the company, the reality is they bought BPA free cans, but aren't willing to risk lawsuits. in case the place(s) they bought from lied.
Silicone is not made of sand. You are confusing it with silicon. Per Britannica: silicone, any of a diverse class of fluids, resins, or elastomers based on polymerized siloxanes, substances whose molecules consist of chains made of alternating silicon and oxygen atoms. Their chemical inertness, resistance to water and oxidation, and stability at both high and low temperatures have led to a wide range of commercial applications, from lubricating greases to electrical-wire insulation and biomedical implants (such as breast implants).

Sounds like a great option! I see they carry these at Costco too. Very cool. Thanks for sharing!
Do the vitamix accessories also contain harmful plastics, e.g., spice grinder, to-go cups, food processor, etc.? TIA

My grandmother gave me some old ceramic tea cups but they have gold trim. I heard that paints can have lead in them if the cups ate old.
Right, and Waterford is leaded glass
