As a deaf college student, thank you for including accessibility options in this. Many people overlook this and it's very crucial to our understanding in most of these audio lectures and group discussions
Absolutely! And if the college zoom account doesn't offer Cloud recording, instructors can upload the recording to UA-cam which will add auto-captions.
@@Cy_Instructional_Media I agree with Cyrus. I'm a community college instructed and have uploaded dozens of hours of Zoom-based lectures and virtual classes. My institution limits cloud storage, and even if it didn't, I'd probably opt for UA-cam since students are familiar with it and it has created few problems for me. It's auto-captioning is quite good, much better than I expected. I always invite students to contact me if something is unclear from the captioning. Don't forget that captioning is not only valuable for deaf and hearing challenged students, but second language and other students who struggle with English.
Thank you! This is so helpful. I stayed out of teaching community college for 16 mos. during the pandemic and now have to catch up. All my colleagues know this stuff already. Thank you!
This well simplify... Thanks for the impact, I have been struggling for weeks on how to go about this but after watching this video everything looks very simple
Thank you for this video! Do you know what the maximum length of video you can record is. I read some where that it was 40 minutes on a basic zoom account. If so can you join multiple videos together. Thank you 😊
Thanks for these clear and useful explanations. As a lecturer trying to learn Zoom in a hurry I couldn't get straight answers from anyone else. One little thing: I want to use pdfs in my 3rd party application. I know I can chose Adobe reader first up, but in a test run I thought I would chose desktop like you did. I opened a pdf from there. I put some markings in it. Everything was fine until I played the video. The pdf never appeared in the video, just the desktop, although the pdf was visible while I was recording the video. That's not a big problem given that I can go directly to Adobe reader directly from Zoom, but it is bizarre that the video shows something different from what I recorded.
That's odd. My guess is that it's something in your recording settings. Login to Zoom, Click Settings, Click the Recording tab, make sure that "Record active speaker with shared screen" is checked. There is another option that records just the speaker which may be what you had set in your test.
@@Cy_Instructional_Media Same issue here, and I wonder if it is because my university has all cloud settings, including captions and recording speaker with shared screen, disabled.
Lol every time I join a zoom meeting or make one. If I exit the zoom app on iOS on the top bar when it says time, date and battery I see a red line and it’s says “Zoom recording” Even when I’m not recording it says that? What does that mean? Can anyone help if they have the same issue? Are they secretly recording information!!!?
Great video and awesome way to use zoom for training & teaching... Is there any way to change the size of the video view of the speaker and is it always in the top right hand corner?

I am individual I need to use to make online workshop shall I pay?? To sign up or to able to use it??? Is there any limitation for videos lenght??!! Thanks for your time to share your great video
Is the cloud save just a piece only for paid clients? I don't see that as a choice for my free account. I am a school counselor and we are working on virtual lessons.
Yes, it needs to be a pro account for the save to cloud option. Alternatively, you can save the recording to your computer then upload it to UA-cam. UA-cam will then autocaption the video for you. It's important to have accurate captions for accessibility.
@@Cy_Instructional_Media Thank you. I am a teacher and just subbed for the 14.99 plan. Not sure how much video footage that will record, as it is 1GB of MP4 or M4A cloud recording. Hopefully that will allow for a half hour video! :(
I'm not sure what the limit is. For Cloud it depends on the subscription plan. Pro accounts let you keep 1GB in the cloud. If you record to your computer then upload to UA-cam it would be unlimited.
Yes. During a Zoom meeting, you can share your screen then play the prerecorded video for your students. When you click share screen make sure to check the box to share computer audio.
It only works with a paid zoom account. If you're on the free one you can record to your computer then upload the file to UA-cam. UA-cam will caption it for you.
You can invite students and do that. Gallery view lets you see a lot of participants at once on the screen. Be mindful that some students may not have a webcam or want to share their living conditions on camera. Proctoring software may be a better solution.
@@Cy_Instructional_Media thank you for the quick reply!! I am trying to "automate" for one of our classes. People will be dropping in at different times of the day and different days. Something like this, 1. Create a recurring zoom meeting that people can join at any time. 2. When they enter the meeting, the video plays automatically. 3. They can now "answer" the question live (with webcam on), and the the whole session is recorded (with their permission of course). Do you know if something like that is possible?
@@paulacassianodias7990 I don't think it would work as you described. Someone would have to play the video and unless you used the waiting room you might have students joining at the wrong time.

I can't find the option of record on cloud or annotation. Are those available with free version?
Cloud recordings are only for paid subscriptions unfortunately.

what are you using to record your screen for this video?
