Was thinking the same, haven't heard him this good live very often. Also Nick and Josh sound buttersmooth together. The same can't be said of Troy, Dean or Mike, they just aren't good singers.

True story: This is the last BDO I attended was 18 years old all psyched up 4 Limp Bizkit the nite before then in am found out chick got killed in mosh in Sydney No Limp Bizkit BOOOO. Oh well. Can't even remeember QOTSA at that age was all into nu-metal Korn Deftones n stuff but then one of the best gigs I ever saw that day was At The Drive-In on the smaller stage. They killed it. Soon after they broke up- forming two lesser bands. later on I discovered that QOTSA fucken rock thanks mainly to a friend (Leon). And when working at Vinnies in Collingwood, Melbourne, vic, Aust I found a copy of this CD for a dollar. Score! The End.

He's so incredibly underrated, don't get me wrong Ghroll is great but playing with Queens? Trautman all the way for me, just compare Rated R and SFTD, even if Ghroll is more skillfull Trautman fits much better, but I guess it's just me...
+Rock Barcellos I think comparing the two albums on their drumming, Songs definitely wins. I mean listen to Song for the Dead. Best QOTSA drum track ever. Period. That was Grohl. Now look at Lost Art of Keeping a Secret. Good song, no doubt, but drumming not up to Grohl standards. All of Queens' drummers are great, but Joey is the way to go
@@loupain2530 Comparing The Lost Art Of Keeping A Secret and Song for the Dead in terms of drum parts is extremely apples and oranges. Two completely different songs that required different vibes on the drums.
The best live version of Mexicola I ever heard . Period .
Try Live from the Basement or UA-cam "Queens of the Stone Age 1999-02-08 Winnipeg, MB"
@@gavinmcclees931 I know all the live versions, but I still prefer this and probably the one from Over the Years and Through the Woods by Alain.
@@gavinmcclees931 The basement is my favourite. Can’t beat Joey on drums
Could not agree more. Absolutely the best live rock song ever.
That bass started the tectonics's plate movement.
One of the sickest bass lines ever!
Never been a fan of Nick, but damn was he a fundamental part of QOTSA... He's making all the difference here
Yeah he's a weirdo, but a weirdo that fitted Joshs sound very well.
@@faramund9865 why what's bad about him?
@@rohan750 I just mean he's an oddball. Not wrong per se, don't know him personally.
@@rohan750lotta controversy with ex partners and violence apparently, mostly in the peak of his drug use
Wow josh voice is really powerful here

I really like the drums on this version. Busy but stylishly so.
The drummer is Gene Trautmann
Thanks
not nick lucero?
@@aliquadri7077nope, definitely Gene
This still slaps so hard; Nick and Gene best lineup!
Gene was very underrated
He's singing REALLY well here, wow. Haven't heard him this good recently.

BEST QOTSA when Nick Oliveri is in the band :D
Most definitely ❤
Visti a Bologna e Grazie A Dio che hanno fatto questo brano
Da carái! Melhor versão ao vivo.
also for me best live version of mexicola!
The one at the basement from my point of view its little ...faster...but still great!
that is some gnarly "keyboarding"

I think it’s cause Josh is older in the more recent renditions so he can’t strain his voice the same way 😭
