Hey Evan and Katelyn! I just graduated with an associate's in science today! I'm typing this in my regalia. I just wanted to say how much of an inspiration Evan was for me. I'm now pursuing a Mechanical Engineering bachelor's degree. Thanks for being an awesome mentor for engineering.
From an engineer to a future engineer: I highly recommend getting machining and other hands-on experience. It will be very helpful in the future when you make engineering drawings.
As someone who has a dog that merrily travels by pouch - you need to shrink the pouch! When it’s that baggy, Jooby is not gonna feel secure. Try folding the top over and adding either a tie you can tighten or some elastic. Also try just leaving the hoodie on Jooby’s favourite spot so they can get used to sitting in it by themself.
I lost my cat - who looked very much like Joobie - just a week ago. She was 16. I wasn't sure whether watching this video was a good idea, but watching the sheer love you both have for Joobie while still having fun was actually quite an emotional balm.
I’m sorry for your loss, I lost a hamster 1 year ago, she was also named Joubie I got the idea from Evan and Katelyn and I miss her a lot I still see videos of people with there animals and it hurts often but it will be ok, we’ll get through it
I'm sorry for your loss. I experienced the same on another channel that is cat focused after loosing one of my cat that was very similar to one of the cat on the channel.
If it can help, here's a Tip for Joob to go in the hoodie pouch : Katelyn you need to put the hoodie on when and where you usually sit and Jooby comes on your laps. If she doesn't go directly in after hopping on your laps, try and put her in without moving to much. She should be less fussy because she'll be supported by your laps in a familiar situation. The only change will be the hoody and that shouldn't be a problem cause it'll smell like you and isn't restricting her mouvements. Don't stand up immediately once she's there, just act the same as when she's in your lap. Except now when you need to stand up for whatever reason there's no need of putting her down. Hope this helps save the Hoody project. Happy belated birthday to Joob. Thank you for your videos. May everyone enjoye May !
Came to make sure someone else had commented this!! It's a new thing, and cats hate new things. Even if they smell like catnip. Even if they will eventually love them. Will also help once the Furby fur smells like you, too! But wear it around a lot so that she gets until she gets used to it just being there and seeing that it doesn't bite- don't try putting her in at first, get her used to just laying on you with it present, and I would move from that to pulling it down so that she could theoretically crawl in herself and she if she gives it a try after getting used to it. Don't force her too fast or she could lose trust in it, like with the sliding cat wheel!
@@EvanAndKatelynalso! As someone who is sort of a seamstress (disclaimer I learned from my grandma who was really good at sewing and have made many things over the years but have no like formal training) the top part of the pouch not being hemmed (folded down and sewn to itself) is probably causing it to feel really unstable to Joobie! I personally would fold it and hem it to give it a thicker edge and also sew it edges of the top to the hoodie just a bit so there’s a slightly smaller opening for her but the fabric feels more secure and cozy! If you compare it to a kangaroos pouch they’re really snug and secure, and like the trend of people wearing their cat using baby wraps, they’re pretty tightly wrapped so the cat feels snug against your body, etc. The floppy fabric probably makes her feel like she’s just going to tumble out and get hurt! Sorry that you might have to do more sewing but that would be my best advice to give it an actually good chance at working. No amount of patience and getting her used to it is going to help if she feels like she’s going to fall out of it!
I'm just amazed at how organized that closet was, eventhough there were so much stuff. Despite Joobs didn't care much for it at first, that kitty tent is so simple and cute, so doable. An actual life hack that works.
0:16 I love how both of you know exactly how the other thinks, it's both heartwarming and oddly unsettling at the same time. Like the twin telepathy. Honestly Joobie is just tough love material at this point. We love her anyway.
Hey! We have matching kitties! Is she a Chantilly Tiffany? Such a weird name for a cat breed! Sounds so fancy! lol, my Vader is anything but fancy! But at least he's cute! 😂
The hoodie one just needed a smaller pouch opening to give the cat support. Cat carrying hoodies are real things you can buy (or reference for project improvements)
It makes me feel a million times better that my husband and I are not the only ones who act like that over our cats doing something cute, or them liking something we bought for them, or just laying there, or eating, or pretty much just breathing!!! Lol 😆!!
OMG, that cat pouch was the funniest. Such a brilliant story for a short: 1. Katelyn describing the idea with her silly voiceover and so much excitement and anticipation 2. Choosing her "favourite" hoodie and cutting out the fabric 4. Katelyn's fear of the sewing machine 5. Katelyn sewing by hand for 2 hours 6. Joobie "vamoosing" from the pouch (maybe multiple times) 7. Katelyn crying that Joobie hates it 8. Katelyn emerging with a pouch full of "comfort food" snacks I don't think I've laughed this hard at a video for a while. Thank you and I'm sorry that Joob hated it.
A baby wrap thing is an excellent idea. The snug fit and stable bottom would probably feel a lot safer than a loose pouch sewed to a unstructured garment.
I used to wear my hoodie backwards so my cat could sleep inside the hood like in a hammock that rested on my chest. So she could be near me but not on my keyboard when I was working.
My boy, Ramses, loved being carried. I used a baby wrap/sling. The pouch you made was too floppy and she didn't feel secure. If you tighten it up to be more supportive she might accept it. I had to stop using the sling with Ramses after my spinal cord injury (he was 25lbs lol). I lost him last year the day before his 13th birthday very unexpectedly. I wish I could have used the sling for him one last time. I hope your supervisor will accept the pouch in the future ❤
Today I got my bachelors degree in teaching, and watching this video was just the icing on the cake. Y’all have gotten me through so many late nights of lesson planning. Thank you so much for doing what you do.
Katelyn!! You should definitely get familiar with that sewing machine, it's really not as complicated as it seems! The most common issues that can make it frustrating and cause thread breaking or the stitches messing up are: bad thread and bad thread tension. Once you know how to judge if your tension is off it gets so much easier! Sewing that pocket could have been done in under 5 minutes
I have a variety of 3d printed "wall brushes" for my cats. They get used regularly, yet infrequently. Choosing where you put them seems to make a difference.
This is why it is good for makers to learn the skill of using a sewing machine. What took 2 hours of hand sewing would take maybe 2 min on a machine. I only hand sew when I absolutely have to in order to repair something that I can't fit into a sewing machine.
I personally prefer to hand sew because I find it soothing. The machine is always way too loud for me. And I live with an autistic brother who can hear better than most people so the machines sometimes can give him sensory overload if it's running or it's just too loud for him.

I love that joob loves the first hack so much! And how excited they got, low key the vibes are sleep deprived cat mom and dad in the most positive way.
I felt the verge of tears type laughter from Katelyn. I have been there after hours of working on something for it to not work as your hopes and dreams thought it might. Still an incredible idea and well crafted. At least you can hold a box of tissues and chips in the pouch as comfort lol 😂
Had a fortune cookie when Katelyn was testing her cat pouch hoodie. It read, "Before the beginning of great brilliance, there must be chaos." .... chaos chaos chaos. I was laughing so hard.
22:02 "Did I pick a good adhesive?" "You've picked a good adhesive, baby." Well, that's 3M VHB, so in terms of double-sided tape, you've gone and picked the best adhesive: good instincts, Katelyn. Also, I'm completely in love with Joob. I'm always amazed when you manage to make something that ISN'T Joob-related, simply because of the mind-boggling self-control it must take to drag yourselves away from her presence for even a moment. Seriously - making stuff ... and a cat. A cat ... and making stuff. THIS is what the internet is for.
I have a cat pocket hoodie that I LOVE. Two of our three cats also love it. I mostly use it when sitting at my desk; it’s a LOT easier to contain them when typing now! I also discovered the convenience of having a giant snack pocket on the front - definitely great!! Another great video, y’all!
I do a lot of sewing, so I could tell the hoodie hack would be very tedious to do by hand! I was honestly kinda worried that the furry fabric would fray and rip with an 11 lb cat in it, but hey, you did it! That’s pretty impressive despite Joobie’s disinterest 😸
I had no idea Evan was allergic to cats! Have you heard of the egg-white theory? Basically, researchers found out that chickens, when exposed to the Fel d1 protein (which is what most people are allergic to), produce eggs that have the Fel d1 antibodies! So you mix up the egg whites in their food and it's supposed to decrease the amount of the protein in their saliva. It doesn't harm the cat in any way, shape, or form. I'm excited for more studies about it (as someone who is highly allergic to cats but loves them still).
Purina makes a food with those egg whites! I don't have any solid evidence that it works (and I can't test it on my cat because she is allergic to poultry lol), but I hope it relieves some cat owners.
wasn't the protein in the egg yolks and not in the egg whites? Anyway, very excited for this as well as I would love cats some day but my mom is allergic and I do want her to be able to visit freely
I love how despite all the life hacks the thing joob liked best was the plain box. 🤣However the first life hack was a 10/10 very easy and includes all the things cats love. :) Also happy birthday Joob!
I, too, choose to hand-sew any time I do a fabric project because I'm scared of sewing machines. I also have a hoodie with a fluffy kangaroo pocket to carry pets in. Katelyn is 100% valid.
The Catit Senses Self Groomer is basically the same thing as that brush on the chair and actually made for that purpose. It's like 5 dollars on the their US store and the actual "brush" part is removable from the back that attaches to the chairleg (or tableleg) for easy cleaning. I got one several years ago and my cats love it.
Happy belated bday Joobie and to many more! And Katelyn, I understand your dream with the pouch. I have a commercial made hoodie with the pouch and walk around with my 9 pound fur son all the time.
I’m impressed that Katelyn thought Joob would like the pouch. At the second i saw the hack i thought “Joobie will NOT stay in there” yet Katelyn spent over 2 hours sowing 😂 oh and happy birthday Joobie 🎉
Hey guys! I recommend looking into anti fel-d1 egg powder and/or cat food. It was found that chickens raised alongside cats develop the ability to neutralize the fel-d1 protein which is the thing you are allergic to. The eggs they lay also have this feature. You can feed it to joobie as part of her food and can see results within just a few weeks and can help up to 85%. I don’t remember the exact specifics, but I recommend looking into it!
Happy birthday Joob!!! My cat lady story (of many). My littlest kitty, Button, ripped all of her back fur out because I had to work for almost two weeks straight, ten hour days. To get her to recover, I the lower leg off of a pair of pajama pants and sewed it up to make her a little onesie. I also don't leave the house much anymore 😅
I made my friend a hoodie with a cat pouch from scratch. Reinforced the shoulders, lined it with sherpa. It was hot pink and black. Don't fear the sewing machine! Sewing your own clothes is a super power!
I have a super old vintage sewing machine and I find it very hard to use (mostly due to the lack of helpful tutorials for it) But I want to sew my own clothes sooooo bad man. It is right up my alley I just fear the machine
@@stickitydoodah My husband bought be a serger sewing machine for my birthday. I was absolutely terrified to use it. It has a freaking blade in it and 4 things of thread and 3 needles! But, I carefully set it up and gave it a shot, and I love it! You should just give it a try. If I can conquer my fear, so can you. 🥰
We bought a thing called the "Cat-A-Comb" for our babies. Just like the brush on the chair. It stuck onto the corner of a wall and had a pocked in the bottom for catnip. They loved it!
Put a bit of HAAAM in the Joobie cave thingy! You don't need the hot glue, just the nobbily kitchen gloves work. I don't use it on my cats though, I use it to get fur off of furniture. Just go in circles one way, and then the other.
Happy Birthday to Joobie, the Queen of the Floofs! Hope she was super spoilt with ham and catnip 😻 Sorry that despite all that work sewing, Joobie wasn't keen on your dreams... one thing I will say though, is that when hand-sewing, pricking your fingers is a sign you're doing a good job! 👍
14:32 I dooo😭😭 I kinda did something similar I had this really oversized jacket that put my cat I don’t remember but I mean I’m sure she liked it 😅 also Happy birthday Supurrvisor ❤
LOL the urgency of Katelyn telling Evan he's going to crush the chips at the end! Definitely the right priority. Seriously though, I think the pouch hoodie could have worked better if you just wore it lounging on the couch watching a TV show or something.
When it comes to the gloves I think it would depend on the cat and time of year. With mine through most of spring and late summer could coat my bare hand in as much fur as in the video on the rubber glove. There was a time I used to pet him like crazy specifically to gather hair until finally finding a brush he didnt hate.
2:30 Prof. Farnsworth: Let me show you around. That's my lab table and this is my work-stool. And over there is my intergalactic spaceship! And here's where I keep assorted lengths of wire. Fry: Whoa! A real live spaceship! Prof. Farnsworth: I designed it myself. Let me show you some of the different lengths of wire I used.
Happy late birthday Joob!!!!!🎉 what an amazing video as per usual! I look forward to seeing your content every time you post it always makes me so happy and excited to get back into my own projects! Love u guys and thanks again for the stunning content and thank you to the Supurrvisor for blessing my Friday ❤❤❤❤❤
(This is for you, Katelyn!) I have to admit that I used to carry my kitten in the hood of my hoodie. And ever since she's grown too tall for that, I wished for another option to carry her around :D Thank you for this awesome inspiration :D
24:24 I had a cat who loved a version of that that u could buy. It was much bigger and it was meant to be attached to a corner. This hack seems like a good option, but the version u can buy is $5-$10 depending on where u get it from. So it just depends if it’s worth the effort really

Yup.

Yeah I'm gonna wait until there's actual studies before I temporarily genetically modify my pets
@@melodiousmooose5301 I seriously don't trust Purina.
wasn't the protein in the egg yolks and not in the egg whites? Anyway, very excited for this as well as I would love cats some day but my mom is allergic and I do want her to be able to visit freely
@@LeafBoye There are actual studies.
Happy birthday Joobie! These were all so cute and I loved to see that the ham hoodie found its true purpose.......... a snack holder
The editing continues to be incredible and I’m not surprised by this but I love all the little details “pov you are a brush” etc. Love joob content
14:33 I have a cat and I can guarantee I have thought about this exact idea so many times
The painting one ive seen done with catnip so the cat rolls around instead of just licking it. Also Happy Birthday Joobie
Happy birthday Joobie! I had no idea she was the same age as our little old lady cat (a “super senior”)! She’s spry as a kitten ❤️
PLEAAAASE make a storage room tour 😍😍 everything is so organized it would help the rest of us figure out a storage system
Oh my goodness, happy birthday Joobie!
My cat got so invested watching Joobie test out the hoodie and then was just watching yall craft the rest of the video 🥲
I love how despite all the life hacks the thing joob liked best was the plain box. 🤣However the first life hack was a 10/10 very easy and includes all the things cats love. :) Also happy birthday Joob!
18:43 THE SNACK SACK! I'd wear it, honestly😂😂
Seems like it would be good for trick-or-treating.
Hey guys, my cats also love churuchuru. I think it is just baby food in a tube, but they love it! I rate the beautiful art 10/10!
I like the change of Katelyn showing off the life hacks, and Evan reacting.
You're so patient! Thank you for opening your home and your heart to these needy kitties!
I, too, choose to hand-sew any time I do a fabric project because I'm scared of sewing machines. I also have a hoodie with a fluffy kangaroo pocket to carry pets in. Katelyn is 100% valid.
I love the t-shirt tent! I’ve used an Xl t-shirt in an Amazon box before. Our Naboo cat loved it! But so did Saber the pup. 😊
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOOBIE! What a purrfect girl, such a wonderful little void/trash baby/astronaut/channel mascot!
Katelyn - your pure, unadulterated joy with the pouch was everything!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
"How is that different?"
...
"Exactly!"
Lmao 😂
Happy Birthday Joobie 🎉 9:47
Happy birthday sweet Joob!!🥰 my 15/16 year old kitten Precious sends a cranky sounding happy birthday meow your way❤️❤️
Happy Belated Birthday Joobie!!!! I wish you the best naps and so so many cardboard boxes!
I have a super old vintage sewing machine and I find it very hard to use (mostly due to the lack of helpful tutorials for it)
But I want to sew my own clothes sooooo bad man.
Two of the best things combined! DIYs and Cats! I love making things for my cats lol
20:44 Walmart sells corner brushes that can hold catnip for 4.99.
Happy birthday supervisor! I hope she got plenty of ‘ham’
Y'all are so freaking organized!!!! SERIOUS ASPIRATIONS!!!
I mean 4:33, the description, 2 videos and 4,2 B subs (btw well-deserved) just made me roll on the floor XD
Happy birthday, Joobie! May you have many senior years! 🐈⬛
Happy Birthday to Joobie, the Queen of the Floofs! Hope she was super spoilt with ham and catnip 😻
Sorry that despite all that work sewing, Joobie wasn't keen on your dreams... one thing I will say though, is that when hand-sewing, pricking your fingers is a sign you're doing a good job! 👍
I've bought like three kangaroo pouch shirts to put my cat in, so you are absolutely not alone, Katelyn!
14:32 I dooo😭😭 I kinda did something similar I had this really oversized jacket that put my cat I don’t remember but I mean I’m sure she liked it 😅 also Happy birthday Supurrvisor ❤
I've never seen you guys before, but just from this one I LOVE the chemistry between you two, instant sub.
My mum brought me a cat pouch hoodie online, my old lady cat loved spending her final days snuggled inside!💕
The hot glue ad read, my gooooooddddd!!! I rarely ever watch the ads but I wouldn't skip yours for anything, they're always so great!!
No more wire hangers! Mommy Dearest would be very happy about that...Happy Birthday Joob!
LOL the urgency of Katelyn telling Evan he's going to crush the chips at the end! Definitely the right priority.
Seriously though, I think the pouch hoodie could have worked better if you just wore it lounging on the couch watching a TV show or something.
Happy birthday, Joobie. Also, did you know that keeping a cat is sometimes thought to be an extended kittenhood for the cat?
When it comes to the gloves I think it would depend on the cat and time of year. With mine through most of spring and late summer could coat my bare hand in as much fur as in the video on the rubber glove. There was a time I used to pet him like crazy specifically to gather hair until finally finding a brush he didnt hate.
Happy birthday Jooby! Hope Joob likes the DIY birthday gifts! 🎂 🥳
2:30
Prof.
Happy Birthday Joobie you are such a cute cat best wishes to all of you
It should be introducing the ✨snack pocket ✨ 18:32 😂😂😂😂
@@diaryofthenotsosupermom heck yeah!! 👍 I agree with you
Happy late birthday Joob!!!!!🎉 what an amazing video as per usual! I look forward to seeing your content every time you post it always makes me so happy and excited to get back into my own projects! Love u guys and thanks again for the stunning content and thank you to the Supurrvisor for blessing my Friday ❤❤❤❤❤
Happy birthday Joobie!! 🐈⬛❤️🎉
9:32 Happy BIRTHDAY JOOB
18:05 was hilarious 😂
I think the pouch needs to be smaller and then I think she’ll love it more ☺️ 17:53
Happy 14th birthday joob! I hope you had a great birthday! We love you!
Having so many mannequin heads in closets is weird but at the same time its so evan and Katelyn
(This is for you, Katelyn!) I have to admit that I used to carry my kitten in the hood of my hoodie. And ever since she's grown too tall for that, I wished for another option to carry her around :D Thank you for this awesome inspiration :D
Happy birthday Joob!
Happy late birthday joobie. 14 years is a long time for a cat
I love it when y'all make awesome things for Joobie they always turn out great... Well except for the pants pillow 🤣🤣🤣
27:30 the reverb fart ALWAYS gets me
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOOBIE 🥳
24:24 I had a cat who loved a version of that that u could buy. It was much bigger and it was meant to be attached to a corner. This hack seems like a good option, but the version u can buy is $5-$10 depending on where u get it from. So it just depends if it’s worth the effort really
Happy Friday E&K and Kevins!🫰🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
Happy birthday Joob! She looks absolutely amazing for 14
