Great video explaining the use of your tools and dangers involved. I actually met a person in a tire shop who went through a 16" tire explosion during a bead seating. It left a perfectly round chipped ring in the concrete 25 foot ceiling of the shop. He spent 6 months in a hospital for facial reconstruction surgeries as it scraped across his face and almost lost the use of an eye.
I do believe those slit ring rims are banned now on newer trucks ,4WDs etc but they are still available on base model 4WDs here in Australia but no longer used on trucks and buses anymore here.
This style and the 3 piece lock ring wheels are still legal, though I'd personally update to tubless one piece wheels and tires. It's the Firestone rh5 that are "banned." Now if the insurance companies allow you to work on them or not is a different story.
guys if i had to fix a single pice rim is ok but if i ever meet a split rim wheel i'd rather non even look at this thing and go away, these things are known for killing people and they call this tipe (the widowmaker)
Technically, the widowmaker style was a dished wheel that was split in the center. Firestone rh5 designation. The reason they are dangerous was the mating surface was hidden The wheel shown is just a two-piece split ring wheel. These, and three piece lock ring wheels are still serviceable, though insurance companies may not let you work on them.
20 years as a tireman and never encountered a tire this easy to dismount or a tireman as clean as this dude

Interesting, although I feel some important procedures are missing and need updating
Split rims are illegal! To many people were maimed or killed by them. I know two people who lost hands changing tires on those rims!
