One thing I'm currently regretting with this video is not giving more credit to the podcast/interviewers, I did leave all of them in the description but I should've put them all at the end of the video as well because I had nothing to do with any of those. So a big shoutout to everyone there, I'll be sure to make a big shoutout in my next video too because that's unfair to them and I want everyone to get the credit that they deserve. I'll be better with giving credit because that's what I should've done I just wasn't thinking. The finale thing I'm regretting is not saying that this isn't made for kids because there is inappropriate jokes, but to be fair I was a edgy high school kid when I was recording most of the breakdowns and honestly looking back on it I should've just made these for everyone because someone might think that this is made for everyone when it isn't. So I definitely want to apologize for not saying that at the start of the video because I should've.
the video is *slightly* shorter (the show as a whole comes out to a bit over 9 hours) but the video comes close! which i think is commendable with the quality this essay is at!
I’m only 1 1/2 hour deep into this and the episode review, production tapes, personal commentary, comic references, everything makes me shed a tear and to be completely locked in. This show means a lot to me from my kid years watching season 1 to being a teenager realizing there’s a season 2 and now an adult and all I want is for this to return. Thank you so so much Krispy and Josh Keaton is my Spider-Man
I have always been a fan of this show for the subtle moments that say so much about each character. Like Black Cat kissing Spidey to distract him from noticing she stole the necklace, showing that she's interested in him but is more than willing to manipulate to get what she wants. Or when Norman offers to be Peter's mentor, he is fiddling and cracking the outer layer of the egg he has, representing how he wants to peel away any "unnecessary" elements to best bring out Peter's potential and control him.
The idea of getting Weismann's take on Ben Reilly, Carnage, Scorpion, and so much else makes me sad every time I think of it. Really loved this retrospective.
Man, from one Spidey fan to another here, this is the best video I've ever seen from a spider man related video, the amount of passion, care for detail, fair and good opinions ( except the nature vs nurture, the master plan episode lol, I think they are 10/10 episodes, but still is your opinion I respect it), you literally made me realize how much love everyone from the creative team had for this series, it's bizarre the level of care and detail this show had, even things that they doesn't needed to bother with they put everything they could, I never have seen that in a cartoon, only breaking bad had that level of details ( and this says a lot). everything was perfectly done on the series, this is truly the best Marvel adaptation out of the comics. It's so sad to see this video with just a tiny audience, it deserved 10 million+ views, every spider fan should watch this. And the iceberg at the end bro👀... Perfect. Definitely my fav cartoon of all times and this is one of my favorite UA-cam video, you've done a perfect work, 1+ subscriber. A SPECTACULAR vídeo 😂
Wow. Thank you so much, I really appreciate that. I wanted to try and show everything and give my thoughts about everything. I loved doing this deep dive for one of my favorite shows of all time and showing the amount of detail and care they had for this show and this character and I hope I was able to show why I enjoy this show so much. The amount of detail is insanely impressive for this show and I don’t think I’ve ever seen that besides Greg Weisman’s other show, Young Justice which I would love to do the same for one day when I complete all my other Spider-Man projects but I appreciate it man, made my day 💜
For some reason as a kid I never picked up on the fact that Harry was supposed to be a misdirection for the fans as well, since i wasn't familiar with the comics where Harry is the Green Goblin, so i just assumed Norman always is and figured we were supposed to know something was up.
My guy COOKED 🔥🔥 bought season 1 on a whim when I was 8 or 9 and have loved the show ever since. I didn’t even watch season 2 until years later. The biggest what if in cartoon history, this show would have been perceived as the best iteration of Spider-Man ever in my opinion. Such a great video.
This video came out just in time for me to watch it while I work on a huge interior design project all weekend! Wasn't expecting the Spiderman PS5 spoilers tho 😭
If anyone has any suggestions to make these videos better I would love to hear them because I do just plan on doing these bigger style videos that take months to make and I want to do another Spider-Man related video like this but on a different subject. So any criticism/ideas would be appreciated.
A ultimate Spider-Man retrospective would be cool especially since I personally feel like that show lost the plot and Spider-Man feel after like the 5th season
Have you thought of doing this with other superheroes? I think Batman the animated series deserves this kinda treatment as well. I loved the editing of the interviews with the episodes by the way it’s amazing. I can’t imagine all the time in editing and research. Maybe Batman beyond if you wanna do a more Spider-Man like character lol. You could also do a retrospective on the OG spiderverse comics if it takes as long as I think it will, it will be out in time for the next movie lol.
Now that I think about it, it’s kind of sad when you think about chameleon pretending to be Norman, since it would mean when harry told his dad about him getting a lead in the play and Norman told him he was proud, it wasn’t actually Norman who said that
wow 12 thousands views is really impressive and deserved this was such a good video you have such a nice voice for these types of break down videos, the nods to comics and other Spider-Man media also is nice never noticed all the rami trilogy references
Here something I noticed in black suit all 4 episodes have different logos for the black suit as the episodes go on the logo changes as the hold of the symbiote get stronger
I feel like 26:59 is a nod to the 1960s cartoon Spider-Man. In an episode called Magic Malice, Green Goblin attempts to kill Spider-Man as he is chained up in a cup under water, then when he returns and finds Spider-Man alive and free, he exclaims. " You! You've got more lives than a Black cat!" I guess Goblin was superstitious back then as he was obsessed with magic in that episode. lol
Before this becomes huge, I wanna say that this is fantastic. I was drafting a video of my own about this show but I don't think my work could compare, this is an excellent video man. Be proud of this!
Do it anyway, don’t let my video stop you. I’m always open to seeing more videos about this show just to show that this fanbase is still alive 🤘🏻🕸️🕷️ Glad you enjoyed the video!
Hearing that Radio Show was just so nice because we get to hear what could've been if Spectacular didn't get cancelled. Don't get me wrong, I love Sony, but don't get me wrong, I also hate Sony.
The way I’m coming back to this like a series I’m binging. 3:49:13 so far. Thank you so much for this. The way you’re referencing first appearances, direct visual comic references, just gorgeous. So satisfying to watch. This show really is perfect isn’t it? Subscribing for your efforts, not just Spidey content. Excited to see what else you tackle. Have a great week!
Thank You! Hope you stick around and keep enjoying my content. I really appreciate the kind words, definitely tried to put as much care into this video as possible because he’s my favorite adaptation 🤟🏻
Anyone who makes such a thorough video essay about spectacular Spider-Man has my respect. By far my favourite version of the character and a prominent figure of my childhood.
It’s taken me about 15 years to realize but when Peter’s at his computer uploading his pictures at the start of episode 3, when they come out useless, causing the first of many Parker problems in the episode, the scene includes, possibly ends with the same shot used for his suit in “Spiderman: No More,” seriously foreshadowing subtlety the scene at the end of the episode
This 8 hour video is gonna make me binge the whole series.. fr fr fr Reminds me of that 12 hour star wars phantom menace video... which got me to watch the movie

4:31:32 would have loved seeing Rhino at the top tier. He can't kill him because he doesn't want to out himself as a criminal, even in his office Spider-Man could escape out the windows before he could kill him.
As much as I would love to watch this I don't know if I can, the video's a little too long for me. I will share what made me a fan of the show personally. The show has great animation, an incredible voice cast, great music, great characterization. The best characterization I have ever seen in a Spider-man adaptation. But by far the strongest aspect of the show is its storytelling. I feel Greg Weisman was playing 4D chess with this show everything that happens in the story has an impact on something else, it's very tight knit and very interconnected.
i loved this show as a kid and probably even more now it holds up better than i remember i love the pacing, jokes, artstyle, literally everything about this show. this and the tobey maguire spiderman movies were my shi as a kid and it sucks this got cancelled for ultimate spiderman.
Dumb thing to remember but did you remember that the Shocker gloves were made by Trask, the same company that made the Sentinels that hunt down the X Men? Also your thoughts on the film Deadpool X Wolverine = Forever. ?
No wonder this show is so good, I didn’t know Greg was the creator of Gargolyes too! Probably the best animated show from the 90's, at least for Disney
Yeah an absolute fantastic writer, still gotta finish Gargoyles lol. He also worked on Young Justice so if you haven’t seen that would recommend because his work on there is amazing as well.
I always hated the scene where Flash "humbled" Peter for acting like an asshole to his friends when his aunt was in the hospital. I don't know know why people like that scene so much considering the fact that Flash was a horrible bully in the original comic, the ultimate universe, and all the tv shows. I get it, he's got layers and is a very nuanced character, but his portrayal in the Spectacular Spiderman never impressed me. I always loved him in the original source material when his humanity shined through all the horrible parts of his personality. In this TV Show, He was this stereotypical the jerk jock trope that challenged Peter right at the exact moment when he was being influenced by the symbiote, big whoop. Flash routinely spends his days tormenting Peter and other "nerds", so that should automatically disqualify him from telling anybody shit based on his character alone. This show's version felt of Flash Thompson felt lazy, undeveloped and rushed. Realistically, I don't think a lot of people would ever forgive their high school bullies, especially the ones that went above and beyond the call to duty. I'm not saying it's impossible, but seeing Peter get kicked in his tailbone by that 300 lb morbidly-obese Kong jock guy at full speed always rubbed me the wrong way, same goes for Flash losing a fight to Peter, leading to a broken hand, then his family sues The Parkers. To make matters even worse, during the wrestling competition he then tells Peter to go fight the wrestler. I will say Peter's comeback to Flash in that moment was epic and should have been explored more.
I’m liking the information about the show and the comic. I’m only about an hour in but honestly…the constant cutaways to reading panels from the comics is a massive pace breaker, and actively lessens the enjoyment for me.
Thank You for you’re criticism. This is what a couple of people have been saying and I definitely am cutting those out completely next time or just making them super short. I will say that they do stop, I think there’s only 3 of them in the video and they don’t go past episode 8 (if I’m remembering correctly) so hope you still enjoy the video and again thank you for the criticism.
I’m pretty sure Tombstone doesn’t take out Spider-Man when they meet because he’s profiting off of him. I might be wrong but I’m pretty sure that’s why.
One thing I'm currently regretting with this video is not giving more credit to the podcast/interviewers, I did leave all of them in the description but I should've put them all at the end of the video as well because I had nothing to do with any of those. I hope that one day we can get a return to this spectacular show, just to finish it up at least, I'll probably die before that happens.😂

Great Spider-Man info!! ❤
I actually shouted out loud "HOW?!" when I saw the length I need to know how you could be this based.
wow, this is quite the video!
I will say that they do stop, I think there’s only 3 of them in the video and they don’t go past episode 8 (if I’m remembering correctly) so hope you still enjoy the video and again thank you for the criticism.
did i really just watch an 8 hour video about spidey in within 24 hours😂 damn i should get a job
My goat is back!!!!!!!!!! 🦅🦅🦅🦅
I’m pretty sure Tombstone doesn’t take out Spider-Man when they meet because he’s profiting off of him. I might be wrong but I’m pretty sure that’s why.
