    I have 2019 250 rally, I love mine - when I ride, it is pinned the whole time out. Never a single hiccup. Not a big as my other bikes, but just as fun!

    Rode dirt in my teens, spent 20 years on sportbikes. 2 years ago I picked up a 2018 Rally as a 2nd bike, something to play on. Fell in love, i've put 12,000km on the crf, 5000 on the sportbike. Couldn't agree with you more, great platform. Can't see selling it, Rally Rita and I have many many more miles to roll.

    Racetech suspension. Corbin seat. Race pipe. Mapping unit. Bars, gearing at 13/40. It's my overall favorite bike. I have also owned mine for a few years now absolutely no reason for a different bike this bike is fantastic

    My 2014 CRF250L was a mini beast and i enjoyed it greatly. Its well rounded in almost every way.
    I however sold it to join the dr650 cult. Im going the route of absolute reliability without electronics and for the extra speed as i live in a remote area and need to do many miles at 110kmh to get anywhere.

    I just got one. Only had 4,000 miles on it. Most of the scuffs on it, I put on. I love it. I live in Northern Wisconsin and there are wildlife preserves and a national forest close by. A few decent trails I want to check out. I'm never going on a freeway no matter what kind of bike I have. 2 lane highways are fine, gravel and washed out 2 ruts are even better. Good gas mileage, so cheap exploring.

    You are spot on! One of these was my first bike in 30 years,and I loved it! The only thing I didn’t like was having to downshift going up inclines at 55…no biggie. I traded it for a new 2021 CRF 300L as soon as I could find one though, just to cure that, for the bit of extra power. But the 300 felt like a tractor, not as fun, but I got what I wanted, a bit more power. I still regret letting that 250 go. PS, My son-in-law bought a DR650, on my recommendation, we both love it!

    Here in Australia it’s a dirt bike and in the Aussie bush and forests is that’s where it shines, however most of us here need to travel a bit to get to those spots and that Honda is horrible on our highways to get there hence why the T7 is the most sold off road bike here. If you have a Ute or trailer to cart it around like I did with my KTM 250 EXC it’s no problem. Just buy multiple bikes, problem solved 😂

    Great Video! Thanks for sharing! I have a 2020 Yamaha WR250R. I've been riding for 1.5 years and recently bought a 2017 KTM 690 Duke. I love the power, which has me thinking about a different dual sport/light adventure bike with more power. I don't know where this will lead me, but I'm hoping Yamaha has a 350/450 dual sport in the works. Also thinking about the Honda 450 RL, but all the mods you need to make it run right is a little disheartening, but this might be par for the course considering all the silly emission restrictions coming down the pipeline...

    If you can’t find a way to have fun a CRF250L then you are hard to please or just a “Hard core” only rider. Then again, I can have a blast on a 50cc bike 😂. The Honda 08/09 CRF230L is also a decent option for shorter riders. I have owned most of the “bigger and better” machines but we are currently having a blast with our little XR150L bikes. Enjoyed your video today! 👍🏼👍🏼

    One thing I don't like about these engines is the crank runs on shell bearings... not ball bearings. Oil/pressure is super critical!

    Nice review Frank, how were you not getting attacked by all those bugs? I helped a kid with one get home when he had a flat tire, we lifted it into the back of my truck and I couldn't believe a 250 could weigh so much. But he loved it and thought nothing of riding 100+ miles out exploring and on the highway. I'm a DR650 cult crew too so I am required to go now. Thank You.

    It's bulletproof but still.. it doesn't ask much from you so give it new oil every 12 months 😅🥹

    • @OneOldManRiding
      @OneOldManRiding  3 місяці тому

      Oh boy... Do you want to know when I last changed the oil?
      Fun story, my first motorcycle was dropped off by my cousin who turned 16 and got a car. It was a Honda. He showed me how to top off the oil. I ran it for five years and gave it to another cousin. Given that he showed me how to add oil, but not change it... It's entirely possible that the bike was run for ten plus years with no oil changes! - Frank
