They're good friends too. They're oldest sons are on the same baseball team and they spend alot of time together in the off season. Both are great examples of how pro athletes, and just people in general should conduct themselves.
@@brandocalrissian3294 Interesting, did not know they were close. The mutual personal and professional respect that Kershaw and Freeman have for each other is abundantly clear.
I remember watching Kersh’s debut in 2008. I was 12 years old then, and I am 27 now. To this day, I am absolutely enamored by him. I pitched growing up and would always try to be like him. As I got older, I appreciated how incredible of human he is and what he means to the sport and to our city. Watching him pitch every 5th night is a treat. I don’t know if I could watch him pitch for a different franchise but if he chooses to do so, he’s earned that right. He is not only my favorite player on the team, but my favorite athlete in general. Hope for nothing but the best for #22 and his beautiful family.
It’s heartbreaking that his mom passed away the day before Mothers Day. 💔🙏🏼 sending all my thoughts, love, and prayers go out to his family during this difficult time. 🤍🪽🦋🕊️
@@shadekujo anyone who doesn't vote him in first ballot should be banned from the sport of baseball for life, and exiled to a random uninhabited island to save the rest of society from their stupidity haha. Kershaw is the greatest of his generation, and one of the overall greatest period.
Hearing Freddie getting choked up, shows how much love and respect they have for each other. Congrats Kersh. Hope to watch you pitch at some point, and if not, hopefully see your induction to Cooperstown.
I love this ball club! Class acts and these guys not only play for the Dodger brand, but they play for each other. Congrats on 200 Ws Kersh! It’s been fun watching you flourish in blue!
@@outsyder8523 im a huge verlander fan! i think hes awesome. but kersh had a 2.10 era during his 7 year prime. that's the best era over a 7 year stretch since integration. its almost a full run better than verlander.
I know you'll never read this. I have lost track of the number of times I've seen you start. I screamed in the stands as you screamed on the mound this night. I was there for your hundredth. For your 2000th K. I was there on Tuesday against the Twins cause you took the mound under the heaviest of circumstances. God allow, I'll be there for your 3000th if you stay that long. I'll be there for your final game. And the day your number joins the stands. I'll be there when you get that unanimous first ballot induction. I'm not a season ticket owner. But you brought so much joy into mine and my family's lives I wish you and your family nothing but the absolute best. (My dad happened to be there for your no hitter that was on my best friends birthday -- his fiance had planned something 🤦♂️) You're my favorite player ever. And I'm so sorry for your loss. The GOAT of my lifetime. Thank you for giving us your absolute all so far. May the force be with you Kersh, always! FINISH [THEM] CK!
Kershaw and Freeman are so authentic. The toast is a really unique insight into how the culture of the organization manifests itself.

And icing on the cake, he is an awesome clubhouse guy and very philanthropic towards the community. Never any off the field issues.
Pretty much unanimous
We love you kersh!
My favorite pitcher of all time! RIP to his mom 😢. Kershaw is the Face of the Dodger’s franchise, he’s earned it. 👏👏

Verlander?
@@outsyder8523 you could argue pedro or maddux were better than kersh. but no chance for verlander :P

although he played for the dodgers. He will always go down as one of my favorite pitchers.
Congradulations clayton so happy for you
Ellen been there from the start. 💙 @ 2:19
It's another story but if Kershaw leaves Dodgers at the end of his career, I believe Freddie can lead the dugout.
GOAT 🐐 ❤❤
CLAYTON ROCKS !!
