  • Tres Num Prato is a Portuguese variety that is reported to have a very nice taste. I'm trying this variety for the first time this year, and I've had several figs ripen but they were repeatedly ruined by rain and/or SWD. Fortunately, I've finally gotten a fig to ripen in good condition late in the season.

I agree with you that the TNP is a really good fig. It's amazing that you are still ripening TNP in mid-October. I also have this variety and had the last figs in mid-September. I tried a huge TNP breba off of my tree in mid-July and it's about 100 grams. I suspect the fig's name refers to the breba crops.

I.m new to figs, live in TX Hill Country. My first figs got killed off by the 2021 freeze. I purchased a Golden Riverside earlier this year, hopefully will produce in 2022. I plan on getting an additional four varieties just because figs are wonderful fruit. For some strange reason I feel the addiction, unfortunately I probably won't be around to see the fruits of my purchases.

I sounded like that ‘21 freeze was pretty unusual. Good luck!
