  • Working on things I need to change, cleaning out our dusty corners, physically, mentally, emotionally. Reset healthy eating and good diet habits as well as literally sweeping all my dusty corners in my spaces. Rearrange my studio with me, do some art journaling to process and make big transformations. I want to optimise my storage and organisation of all my art supplies and studio furniture as well as do a declutter & detail clean. And, at the same time as removing all the dust and cobwebs, I am shifting my mindset and habits. It's a truly theraputic process!

I once read a quote by Dipen Parmar… “the magic you’re looking for is in the work you’re avoiding”. I find that journaling, especially in the way you have been speaking about in this video (and many others) has helped me stop avoiding the work. Thank you for being so genuine and honest. Most of all, thank you for continuing to inspire your community, you are a light that shines brightly for so many of us❤

I had two of my grandkids over (ages 9 and 13) and wanted to get them off of their electronic devices, so I dug out some store bought journals, my bin of collage scraps, watercolor paints, and brushes and we all made art journals together. Their's were beautiful! We will continue to work at them another day. It was so much fun! It was a brilliant 2 hours. Thanks for your endearing inspiration, Wendy! You are a safe, beautiful harbor, Love and hugs, Dhyana

Thank you Wendy! Yes, I felt a bit of overwhelm yesterday...I'm due to have major knee surgery in 4 weeks and I was baffled as to how to turn my living room into a temporary bedsit! I went out for stroll with my walking stick. Fresh sea air inspired me! I drove to store and ordered a recliner chair. I texted a pal offering her my large 3 seater sofa. I have a sofabed already. I will be on crutches for a good while. Feeling better today. We all need to take a break. To reset our brains! Not to feel too guilty about not completing our To Do list daily. I can't sit painting right now but I love the idea of small art journals instead..you inspire us all Wendy. ❤❤❤

just a thought: if you are having a knee operation, you may want to consider getting yourself a 'litter-picker' grabber stick.. a bit off the topic but it came to mind when i read your comment, not meaning to be cheeky!

To help in your healing process before during and after I found a Reiki practitioner here on UA-cam that has blown my mind😮 for 3 years my left shoulder had little range of motion 24 hours of her videos on Loop and for 3 months my shoulder has been 100%😮 for 20,000 subscribers have watched her 800 videos over 4 million times❤ read the comments everybody is blown away by this ladies energy😮❤ you can put one specific video on Loop or you can make a playlist up long enough to let it play throughout the night with the volume turned down because every now and then a commercial will pop in🎉 it doesn't have to be close to you and I actually put rose quartz over the top of my phone every night anyway as they absorb some of the EMF that comes from the blessings of cell phones for iPads😮

Understand that. My husband is going to have knee surgery in the future. I'm hoping for a year away. I work full time and not a lot of time for art. I know that when he has the surgery, it'll change how we do things. I'm hoping for a year so that I can cut back to working part time. That way I'll pick up the slack at home while he recuperates. We have horses and he will not be able to do the normal chores after surgery. Right now the injection worked, but the doctor already said they won't work long term. So feeling overwhelmed and trying to prepare for future changes. My cleaning includes a living room window we can't replace right now. I'm cleaning it and covering the glass with matte medium and torn up rice paper. Doing three layers on that to diffuse the light. It's looking nice. If I need to add curtains did a little extra darkness, I will. Man the dust bunnies I've found moving the furniture away from the window!

I, too, am trying to change my eating habits- including limiting alcohol and caffeine. Could you possible do “what I eat in a day” video? Just to get a sense of what you’re eating and drinking for optimal health? Maybe that is too invasive, but I know I would just love to see it!

I was a teacher too and yes for me it seemed like a lifetime ago. I loved teaching in the 1990s and early 2000's but then everything went bad in the mid 2000's for the same reasons you mention. I am your age and my daughter just turned 34 today. I was 21, 34 years ago today when she was born. I feel like I have lived three lives since then. Mostly good. Some trauma with losing parents to dementia in 2017 and 2019. So had some PTSD from all of that which I am now healing from. I love your videos and also am an artist. I am just starting to write and illustrate my own Children's book I have always wanted to do. And I am making a room my studio so fun seeing you cleaning and arranging yours. XO Wendy!!

Love to you, Wendy. I use a journaling method that is an outgrowth of "asemic writing". I write with the words overlapping so the act of writing, having thoughts and emotions flow out, and brain dump becomes more important than legibility. If I use a soft graphite pencil, it can be smudged and used as a collage element. Very freeing.

Make sure you, the boss, compliments you, the worker, on a job well done 😉! Hope that the new air and energy gives the muses room to visit and dance. Thank James for all of us, for taking care of the orders, DIY, the tech stuff, and for being there for you. So glad that you are back journalling, and that your energy seems to be flowing again, and that you are doing the healthy stuff.

Aww Wendy, you're always such an inspiration. I rearrange my creative space in my head, way too much due to becoming overwhelmed with the reality of doing it. I'm very blessed to have a loft space in my home just for creating. It needs to be rearranged yes but I need to show up. I'm pushing myself to do just that inspired by you our sweet fairy and because I'm currently going through chemo after a tumor in my colon exploded. I'm truly blessed to have had a great surgeon and team that has got me through the worst of it. As you can imagine there is a lot to journal. I get stuck on the outcome even though I've watched your videos on and about the benefits of journaling several times. I also have a painting I began just before I became ill. As always you have whispered in my ear to show up and I will. Thank you.

I am so addicted to being able to look out a window, that I think if I had your studio I'd have to build myself a little platform to put the lovely daybed on, with some storage beneath, so that when I lie on the daybed I could see out the window - whether or not I actually DID look out the window. Which is also why I love the changeroo to having that other table under the window! Your plant babies seem to really love that window! My dusty that I need to sweep away is not buying any more bread. It's an addiction! I never ate bread for years and started up the bad habit - just as you say we do get into habits, good or bad - and it's time to replace it with a better one. Thanks for this video. I'm committing to you - no more bread after what I have at home is gone! 🙂

I often eat a very similar breakfast lunch brunch thing 😋 plain natural yogurt with a hand of granola, almonds, red grapes and a drizzle of honey, occasionaly i add blueberries and strawberries or vary the nuts with pecan or walnuts, finally i often add sunflower and poppy seeds.
I always feel like i'm starting the day with the right attitude on this food.
For a while there, my brain trauma symptoms crossed over into the similarities of ME/CFS and having worked with a medical team to improve lots of areas that may cause chronic fatigue, i discovered that these foods that im naturally drawn to were in fact on their recommended list to help ease fatigue and inflamation. (Not being an expert myself there are probably loads of health benefits that i just dont remember - brain injury = bad memory).
But it is funny how if you listen to what your body is telling you, you will find yourself naturally drawn to the foods that can help improve your health.
Unfortunately these have limited improvements for my brain trauma but i'll take whatever small improvement i can over none at all.
    Small steps.

I rearranged my little room /studio, because I found a cabinet at a thrift store, painted it white to match the other old wood pieces in there. I also decoupaged the oval frames on it with Victorian scrap from calendars. And placed it on top of an old dresser (another salvage rescue). And it looks lovely. That got me to redo the whole room and make it a better work and creative space for me. It felt so good to bring it to life in a whole better way. There is something about changing ones space to give you a whole different perspective on where you create. It's sorta like moving but only the things you have in that space. It does uplift you and brings joy when you walk into that room. I like what you did for your space, it's inviting and makes you want to create magic!! Thank you Wendy, your videos always give me food for thought and inspiration. I send you much love and big hugs!! Thank you for sharing your light in a world that can be a bit dark at times!! 😊🦋🌼♥

Thank you Wendy! I always appreciate your videos, little insights, lessons and growths, your art, journaling tips... You are such a joy and inspiration. I love hanging out here in this creative space with you, all the while going through peri-menopause and the ups and downs of that journey myself as well. I'm also challenging myself to do a few changes and maybe "dust off" a few cobwebs of not feeling capable to do certain things, especially on the online space. How you share your stories, your wins and failures and all the inbetweens makes me want to take the step to share mine too. It's so wonderful how you have built your little community on youtube here. It's been so hard for me as I'm real shy and introverted, but I'm not giving up. I'm taking little steps each day towards one day being willing to show up "imperfect and myself" but still with a smile, knowing that I could possibly encoruage others on their paths too. I feel its such a crowded space though, so just tell myself that it's not worth it. There are so many others who can speak up so much better than me. What is my little voice going to say when others' voices are louder and clearer? Any advice for someone like me starting out on UA-cam? I feel overwhelmed by the technical aspect too. I'm just wondering how you choose to film your little clips: Do you do a little each day, or do you take a day a week to set it up? Or do you just let yourself get inspired and go with the flow, for when you feel like filming a little something to share? Thank you for anything you have on this for me. All the love and joys your way. xx

Not only rearranging and decluttering the environment could lift up your energy, but changing or trimming or cutting our hair and tiny up, cleaning up loose raggedy fly away loose ends of our hair could also bring in newness, freshness plus great energy to our being. We could do it ourselves without going to a hair salon. I did just that this week, my outlook changed to the better about myself! More friendly people approached me when I am out and about than when my hair was a long fuzzy raggedy mess! I realized people judge people by their appearance unfortunately, I learned the hard way. One step at a time.. Just recently I have started to begin my day (after feeding cat!), by sitting down with a mug of coffee; reading a daily meditation note based on a Bible quote (my quotes-booklet of choice is by United Christian Broadcasters); then writing down my thoughts & feelings in a notebook. I am finding that 10mins doing this is helping me to clear my menopausal, aging mind, and I have my notebook to refer back to if I want.

hello Wendy, I do appreciate your honesty about your feelings as well as sharing journalling process as a healing tool and general motivator. i too 'freed my soul' and left teaching after 14 years. my art life saved me. however, after the pandemic I decided to return to teaching only to learn . . . that was a mistake. i have to tell you that i truly understand all about organizing and especially letting go of the things no longer needed from the past. frequently making studio space changes is refreshing! i look forward to your videos! ~ Deb

Hi :) im very new to your channel.. but i like it so much.. i almost beige watches many of your videos.
Im not an artist im just a simple colorists. I always watched coloring videos on youtube and have subscribe to many youtube colorists.
Im also have many sketchbook lying around... in my life of me.. i dont know why 😂
It just it have something on it i keep buying it... i have 4 ( one is for water color)
And then this videos is been recommended on me literally last 3 days ago. I like when you said on one of your videos something like "inspirations exist, but it has to find you working"
Your videos are very helpful on me.. i find it refreshing... meditative and keep me motivated on my art ( for me as a colorist) and now im so eager to use all my sketchbook.. yah i cant draw enough.. but i CAN color.. i start from it.
Thank you very much for inspirations.. and motivativation.. and keeping your videos feels like " my friend far away but always in my room to talk and listen to"
Take care and may God bless you always with good health!!!! ❤

I am almost at the end of a big "spring" clean of the spare room turning it into a cosy art space for myself. I'm in Australia and its mid winter here which means that it is warmer outside the house than in!!! This room has the only window that gets a lot of winter sun so its the only place that is warm, I have dusted out those corners and it feels so much better, I do have to deal with all the piles of stuff I dragged out of the room but I will get there. You have an enviable collections of plants in there, beautiful.

Your videos are always so soothing and inspirational. I love finding a quiet moment in my day, maybe having a snack or a candle nearby and spending time in your corner of the world. I also dream of being in the UK; I've always felt a sense of home and belonging when I've been there, and hope to be there again in the near future. I really like the new layout of the studio as well. I think it was a good choice to move the other table over to the window. Thanks for sharing, Wendy ❤

Great video (even with the camera oopsy). I’m always trying to make more room for all my art supplies and my musical instruments and a lot of stuff ends up in my closet (from Haiti’s 😵‍💫). I think I’ll take your advice and journal about what that closet means to me emotionally and see where it takes me. Thanks so much. 🥰 Josee

I get overwhelmed when I think I have things organized but then I have to reach over junk in my floor to get to things I have to work on! Then I almost fall over and just find something else to do.
I’ve started adding mushroom coffee to my morning and it’s pretty good if you add enough honey and creamer!😅😊Walks are better and my dog is happier through the day!

Hi Wendy. I watched you this am on my son’s tv as I was dog sitting but I am watching you again now that I’m home.
I need to reorganize and sort through stuff and donate what I am not using any longer too.
I love “Sweep Out the Dusties”, not just the physical in our art spaces but in out mental space too. You are brilliant 😊. Love your Dusty Fairly, she looks so sweet with her roses all around her hair. All your fairies are beautiful.
I’ve had so many thoughts floating around in my head since my mother passed and my brother’ now going through laser radiation that I’ve not done much artsy stuff. But this weekend I did practice with my glass pen and inks , plus did start a page with watercolors that I e never used… thanks to your video today._
I think we all get into bad eating habits and like you trying to do better. Yogurt, blueberries, banana’s plus snack of apples with organic peanut butter has helped with the sweet cravings.
I have to say I love the way you rearranged your workspace and where you put the white shelf looks great. The light coming in in your desk is so nice. It’s so open for you . I love the chaise lounger. Makes me want one to curl up in too.
Thank you my dear friend for all you share. I’ll be going back to Florida for 8 days and with my brother and sister in law celebrating my mums birthday on 08.01.. she would have been 97.
When I come home again, I will reorganize my art space once again and change the energy. Keep your light shining and I’ll try to do the same dear friend. Much love to you and hello to James.❤❤❤

It always takes so much longer to shift things about but OH so worth it all , love to shift the energies about and rid the place of those cheeky Dust Dinosaurs/Fairy's hahahaha We ended up doing a deep clean of Our Walk in Wardrobe today and boy it feels fab and even Magically Bigger than before! xxx (Then a few minutes later You mentioned BUTTERFLIES!!! love the Sychronicities ...I just finished one of the most incredible books called "THE POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY OF SYNCHRONICITIES" by Chris Makey?? Highly recommend it for everyone to read it is so FAB! )
