Isn’t it amazing that no matter how old we all get we are constantly searching for our own identity and who we are as artists or as human beings. And when we think we know, life shines more light into the dark undiscovered corners of our selves and we find out that we are even more complex and more beautifully created. This is wonderfully beautiful 4 generations. Your daughters baby has her great grandma 👵 not many get to see their grandparents. Grateful that my daughters got to see their great gramother before her passing and they can remember her too. 😊 Not over 50 yet nor 50 yet either but I'm a young grandma too its just divine it is. 😊
When I lived in Mexico, I would visit the churches and cathedrals where I felt such an integration of myself and the outer world, I went to a little village called Putum, the town seemed deserted I went up a hill to the little church it was surrounded in colorful crosses some so small. my heart ached for the babies that must have been buried in these small graves inside the church the statues were stunning clean and lovely in their gruesomeness. But the rest the benches and floors were crunchy with pigeon's feces. then all of a sudden the bells above rang out above me and played the most beautiful concert. When it was over I left out into the grave yard and then the town came alive and people were streaming out walking up the hill they came. I still feel the amazing energy of the place the people streaming colorful around me, the concert of the bells, the incongruent beautiful statues and then the pigeon feces. Sometimes I go there in my mind and feel the sense of being cleansed and somehow recalculated. I feel beautiful and ugly, new and old, alive and dead. Hum - thanks for reminding me of these sacred spaces.

The place I feel most myself is the Isle of Iona. I first visited when I was 8, and again when I was 15. It has been 45 years since I was there, but it is the place my heart loves most, even though an ocean separates me from it.

Firstly, dear Wendy congratulations on being a grandma! Wow, lucky you! 💖✨️As for your question...have I ever been to a place that mirrored how I feel internally....hmmm🤔 I don't think any man-made structure has ever done thar for me, but certainly many places in nature have given me that sense of myself on a deeper level. Dark forests, tropical waters, very old large trees, waterfalls, woodland areas with springs bubbling up. I'm sure if I lived in Europe, I would find some man made structure that gave me the feeling this castle did for you. Here in Hawaii, we have nothing ancient, except for the land.🌴🌴 As for working on less self sabotaging, and creating the best version of yourself...yes, this is always a must in one's life, but doesn't necessarily bring you to have all that your heart desires. That's when acceptance shows up. The lesson of learning that sometimes we don't always get what are heart desires, and then finding the way to live gracefully with this understanding.🙏 Many heartfelt alohas to you dearheart on your self-exploring journey. Your Light✨️is a warm hug in this sometimes dark and crazy world. Thank you for shining✨️ and sharing💖.
Snowshill Manor in the Cotswolds - every nook and cranny is filled with surprising, interesting, quirky objects, you never know what you will see next when you walk into a room, peer into another cabinet, much like my mind filled with a random assortment of thoughts. Snowshill Manor is a fantastic place to visit, I've been twice and spent hours in there.

Congratulations on becoming a new Grandmother Wendy! I love you glittery skirt you are wearing when looking around the castle - in fact your whole outfit from top to toe is so elegant, and suits you so well. I am only just starting to see who I am at the age of nearly 68 (in November) years young. I think we just get on with things when we are younger, and do not give much thought to them, as we do when we get older - it is because we have more time to do so now I suppose. Like you, I am a highly sensitive person, as is my rescue greyhound Madge, and so everything has an effect on me, as I am sure it does on everyone. I am so lucky to live in my little house which has no traffic passing, as I can not stand loud noises. It used to be a holiday home, along with 5 others, that are converted cart barns, but they were sold off with full residential use. So we are down a private lane, which belongs to my neighbor in the big barn, and we have right of way over the lane. Our cars (I do not have one now) have private parking at the top of the lane, and we walk down to our houses. The others around me are second homes, so I meet folk coming and going, and a lot of the time there is hardly anyone here. So I have a lot of time to think, which may not be so good all the time! I only go out of my home to walk Madge, and to take the recycle and rubbish to the end of the lane. I have become a recluse, and I like it that way. I am a pottery painter, but have not done any for about 2 years now, as I kind of lost my mo jo. But I am fighting back, and starting to do a few arty crafty things again. Indeed, I'm on that journey to discover who I am now. Though I feel 30-something, my body is long past that. I'm niw a grandmother myself as well. Trying to navigate what's appropriate and what's expected yet honoring who I feel I am and what I would choose to do is quite tricky. Currently, I'm at the beach with some soul sisters, fellow warriors in this journey of life, searching my heart as I soak in the sounds of the waves and the feel of the sun on my skin. What do I want with my time here? How do I dress? Should I fight to be in better shape? etc..... This is my happy place, where I feel free and alive, creative and inspired, inquisitive and and quiet. I guess this is where my soul connects, my metaphor. Like the beach, I can be warm and inviting, yet hiding things deep inside. I might occasionally seem wild and free but inside I hold many complex things. Healing and caressing then the next I know I might be raging and crashing, trying to run up the shore only to be drawn back. As a young girl I dreamed of learning to surf the waves, yet once old enough, I found I was terrified of the idea of being in the water, overwhelmed by its magnitude. I guess I need to explore more why it is that I need the beach so much. Perhaps it holds more answers than I thought.

The place I feel most myself is the Isle of Iona. I first visited when I was 8, and again when I was 15. It has been 45 years since I was there, but it is the place my heart loves most, even though an ocean separates me from it.

Firstly, dear Wendy congratulations on being a grandma! Wow, lucky you! 💖✨️As for your question...have I ever been to a place that mirrored how I feel internally....hmmm🤔 I don't think any man-made structure has ever done thar for me, but certainly many places in nature have given me that sense of myself on a deeper level. Dark forests, tropical waters, very old large trees, waterfalls, woodland areas with springs bubbling up. I'm sure if I lived in Europe, I would find some man made structure that gave me the feeling this castle did for you. Here in Hawaii, we have nothing ancient, except for the land.🌴🌴 As for working on less self sabotaging, and creating the best version of yourself...yes, this is always a must in one's life, but doesn't necessarily bring you to have all that your heart desires. That's when acceptance shows up. The lesson of learning that sometimes we don't always get what are heart desires, and then finding the way to live gracefully with this understanding.🙏 Many heartfelt alohas to you dearheart on your self-exploring journey. Your Light✨️is a warm hug in this sometimes dark and crazy world. Thank you for shining✨️ and sharing💖.

Congratulations on becoming a new Grandmother Wendy! I love you glittery skirt you are wearing when looking around the castle - in fact your whole outfit from top to toe is so elegant, and suits you so well. I am only just starting to see who I am at the age of nearly 68 (in November) years young. I think we just get on with things when we are younger, and do not give much thought to them, as we do when we get older - it is because we have more time to do so now I suppose. Like you, I am a highly sensitive person, as is my rescue greyhound Madge, and so everything has an effect on me, as I am sure it does on everyone. I am so lucky to live in my little house which has no traffic passing, as I can not stand loud noises. It used to be a holiday home, along with 5 others, that are converted cart barns, but they were sold off with full residential use. So we are down a private lane, which belongs to my neighbor in the big barn, and we have right of way over the lane. Our cars (I do not have one now) have private parking at the top of the lane, and we walk down to our houses. The others around me are second homes, so I meet folk coming and going, and a lot of the time there is hardly anyone here. So I have a lot of time to think, which may not be so good all the time! I only go out of my home to walk Madge, and to take the recycle and rubbish to the end of the lane. I have become a recluse, and I like it that way. I am a pottery painter, but have not done any for about 2 years now, as I kind of lost my mo jo. But I am fighting back, and starting to do a few arty crafty things again. Indeed, I'm on that journey to discover who I am now. Though I feel 30-something, my body is long past that. I'm niw a grandmother myself as well. Trying to navigate what's appropriate and what's expected yet honoring who I feel I am and what I would choose to do is quite tricky. Currently, I'm at the beach with some soul sisters, fellow warriors in this journey of life, searching my heart as I soak in the sounds of the waves and the feel of the sun on my skin. What do I want with my time here? How do I dress? Should I fight to be in better shape? etc..... This is my happy place, where I feel free and alive, creative and inspired, inquisitive and and quiet. I guess this is where my soul connects, my metaphor. Like the beach, I can be warm and inviting, yet hiding things deep inside. I might occasionally seem wild and free but inside I hold many complex things. Healing and caressing then the next I know I might be raging and crashing, trying to run up the shore only to be drawn back. As a young girl I dreamed of learning to surf the waves, yet once old enough, I found I was terrified of the idea of being in the water, overwhelmed by its magnitude. I guess I need to explore more why it is that I need the beach so much. Perhaps it holds more answers than I thought.
Art is a way of life, you need to make it. Keep doing it lovely
