you put the ssd in the M2.1 slot
in the manual it says "when m.2_1 is occupied with ssd device, pciex16(g5)_2 will be disabled and pciex16(g5)_1 will run x8 only"

m2 slot 1 on apex encore will disable pcie slot g5(slot1 )with16x ,I cannot find any reason to use m2 .1
You cannot set this slot to gen 4 for enable your gpu to pcie 16x.
I dun think someone will buy expensive gen5 ssd and downgrade gpu to 8x …
This board is for overclocker design, ln2 retry button safe boot dual bios etc ,you know apex encore have good IMC usually and it told everyone (this is a motherboard for overclocking) , not a work station purpose!
Apex encore is funny is you decided to just build 1 PC, in my opinion ….. forget the dimm2 slot and just install 2 gen4 ssd is enough! More storage I use NAS to fix ….
Personally I also have this motherboard with custom water cooling with 14900ks and direct die with 2 X 420 mm radiator for maximum the performance for game ,
however, I use another pro art z790 for work and entertainment 14900 K for my choice

How can this be the fastest PC with a 14900K instead of an AMD 7800X3D? Lol… even before you had to gimp the Intel processors with the new motherboard settings, these 14-series CPUs were still slower than AMD’s best.

Can you specify? I have an i7 14700k and it works perfectly fine with 1.27vcore and is cold by having 5.5 ghz P-core. I know it's quite difficult for a typical user to know how to setup everything. Anyways, I don't know if the drama with Intel only applies to i9.

In reality: AMD's Zen 4 was the only CPU in recent date to literally fry itself. I would know, I had to RMA my 7950x3d lol.

i9 14900k is actually one of the worst choices after a 4090 cuz 1 they would both melt and even cause a fire (4090 12pin issues) if only for gaming a ryzen 7 7800x3d would be better less cores but 13-27% more performance and it got 0 overheating issues . for the 4090 there is no solutions if ur in a cold country where its under 20°c all the year u got no issues but anything over that there is nothing we can do . but u could get a 4080 / 4080s (u won't loose that much perf 10-30% compared to 60% cheaper)
14700k and a 4080 super would also be a beast. 7800x3d best gaming chip but not as good for productivity
@@ssaini5028 for productivity id rather look at the either i7 13700k or r7 7700x they are both great for productivity or even the r9 9750x if its more of a productivity build . i9 is really bad value specially after the new bios updates and for the 4090 nvidia solved a problem that didn't exist from the start by making a new one . 8pin connectors still got a margine 3 of them would even be a bit too much since they can go up safly to 150 watts safely (180-200 but at this point it starts overheating and its unstable ) so 3 of them wloud be more than enough and lets not talk about the price 2k for a gpu ? at this point just ask for a kidney
