      That's a lot more expensive than what I would have guessed, holy. If it were available in Germany I reckon it'd easily cost over 3500€, maybe close to 4000€, because companies like pricing their GPUs so that you end up paying ~20% more for the same GPU in Germany compared to the USA (1€ is still more than $1, about $1.06 right now). That would be at least twice or thrice the money any average person here is going to earn, post-tax.

    2:08 There is another problem that you didn't mention, Liquid Metal (LM) eats bare copper. In 1-2 years you will see your temps go up and you will have to reapply LM to bring your card back to spec. If you decide to purchase this card I would replace the LM with Thermal Grizzly's KryoSheet on day one and never have to service it again. Bottom line, ASUS should have nickel plated the block.

    • @BansheeBunny
      @BansheeBunny 8 місяців тому

      @@isocle The KryoSheet runs about 2C hotter than liquid metal, beats every paste on the market and PTM 7950. KryoSheet never dries out, so it will last the life of your device just like PTM 7950. PTM 7950 is not sold to the public so you have to go through an entity that will cut it down to size, repackage and sell it to you. This drives up cost and exposes its sales to fraud. modDYI sells authentic PTM 7950 just shy of three times the cost of KryoSheet. PTM 7950 is on par with high performance paste. The downsides of KryoSheet is that it is conductive and if you need to remount your cooler, you will have to buy another one. You should use conformal coating on any SMDs around the chip you are cooling with it.

    " extremely expensive" would be an understatement... It's $3,200 USD. That is quite frankly insane. You could get a 4090 tuf OC (or non OC for $200) less for $1800, which has the same PCB minus a few power stages that don't matter as the Strix, Optimus GPU block (the best block available. Or Watercool), put liquid metal on it, EK rad/fittings/tube/FLT pump res combo, Phanteks T30 fans and fluid for less than this AND it would perform considerably better.

    There’s a big issue with this card and that’s the fact the copper isn’t nickel plated. I don’t know why they left the copper gate in this card it’s gonna lead to issues in around a year.

    • @ivyr336
      @ivyr336 8 місяців тому +1

      What. Why? The surface that matter won't oxidize as it's sealed. The rest can oxidize and it wouldn't matter.

    • @Blu9ty
      @Blu9ty 8 місяців тому +11

      @@ivyr336 it doesn’t oxidize the liquid metal will combine with copper and form an alloy that will ruin cooling because there’s no real conductor for the heat to get to the block and you’ll have to reapply the LM to the GPU. This is something that asus laptops also deal with often. It’s just chemistry and they don’t care I guess.

    • @Blu9ty
      @Blu9ty 8 місяців тому +1

      It eventually makes a layer that won’t be an issue after enough time…but you wouldn’t have to deal with this and the repasting if they just plated it with nickel.

      @ivyr336 8 місяців тому +6

      Gamers nexus has a video on this. It plates the copper. Doesn't impact performance.
      What you are describing sounds like LM + an aluminum heatsink.

    • @Blu9ty
      @Blu9ty 8 місяців тому

      @@ivyr336 it doesn’t effect performance because it’s a bad conductor it effects performance because it becomes a solid alloy that you need to add more conductor to until a solid layer is there so it doesn’t have anything to react with and yes bare copper and LM have a reaction with each other as well
