Great video. That hit on the clay was crazy, gives you an idea of the power, even over 1000 yards. More, more, more- Different ammo, ranges, and targets. We are finally getting to see the power of this cartridge beyond what was provided from Hornady. All kinds of bullet types/grains available to try.
Seems the BC big game 7mm PRC winner will be Ascent over Fusion Tipped for medium game but you might NOT want to shoot a deer, whitetail or pronghorn with this destructive ammo!! Save for that big moose or bear 😂🔫
I just bought a box of the fusions ...no lie my first group was 3 shots in 1 hole..second group was a little over a inch but the barrel was hot ..i knew better but i was anxious after that first group😂...its a great round for deer out the 7 prc but compared to the federal premium eld x you lose a lot of ft lb energy almost 300 ft lb difference at 400 yards...but my elk all around hunt the world pick is the federal eld x ..for deer the fusion.
Exactly, Fusion is the best all around 7mm prc ammo for medium game or even some elk. At PSA, it's $2.63 per round but Premium ELD-X is $3.15. The best is probably Weatherby Select Plus 7mm PRC 175 gr Hammer Custom SCHP thou but it better be trophy level game for almost $5 per shot! 💲😎
@@cabster7 well I agree the fusion is a great medium game load for the 7prc..but in all honesty is lacks velocity and energy after 300 ...I'd have to say the FEDERAL PREMIUM load is spot on specks and velocity and for all around from elk moose bear like I hunt I will pick the eld x from federal ...I'm very instrested in the 170 terminal acent...but the fusion shot lights out for my rifle...my guns a browning xbolt pro carbon fiber

I've seen you before telling lies in comments and you have no idea just how far 1000 yards is ! I am in the NW corner of Oregon that has massive canyons and forest and days ago I was using a new Leupold 1400-yard capable range finder to check how far things are. From a 1000 yard not even the 2 Leupold long range models of the 6.5x20 power scopes that have the 30 mm tube for extreme range adjustments can a deer or Elk be accurately centered on. It would be just a hall Mary shot of luck to hit the animals. What liars such as you fail to know is not just any scope can be adjusted for elevation for 1000 yards and I live 1 mile from the Leupold factory so I am in and out of there often asking questions and what learned about scopes was interesting when I told only scopes using 30 mm or larger tubes can be adjusted to elevation for 1000 yards or more. So right away if you know this information then a video comes up about shooting long range and you see some kind of garbage scope just presume the person is a liar!
@dalebenson6859 I hope your not talking to me iv have spent the last 20 years shooting and hunt at ranging up to 1000 yards I have the equipment and the skill set I don't need you to believe me I also don't suggest hunting at those ranges unless you put alot of time and practice into it I shoot around 1800+ rounds a year at ranges over 700-1100 yards

@@snowplow7883 agreed 100%. While I have plenty of experience at 1,000 yards now, I still feel 400-500 yards is my limit. Way too many variables past 1,000 yards. Just the fact that it takes 1.3 seconds to reach the target should be enough reason alone.

I live in the NW corner of Oregon where we have massive, forested lands and Hugh canyons. 3 days ago, I was using a New Leupold 1400-yard capable range finder to check ranges. I am calling BS on this as 1000 yards and that cheap crap scope is not capable to adjust for 1000 yards with the tube diameter and bullet from a 7 mm RPC won't make this kind of damage at 1000 yards. I own 2 Leopold long range models of the 6.5x20 power using the 30 mm tube for adjustments for extreme long range and with these scopes I was looking at things 1000 yard away then thinking good luck hitting them and even checking on sized of things looked at the cross hairs covered everything, and these scopes have the ultra-fine cross hairs. This UA-cam telling lies shooting 1000 yards is out of hand now. Even checking on range of 500 yard was incredibly far !
@@dalebenson6859 I’m sorry your capabilities stop at 500 yards or shorter. Easiest way to tell distances without a range finder would be to use ballistics. A shot taken from 1000 yards traveling to the target at a speed of 2965 fps (175 gr G1 BC of .689) would take 1.25 seconds to get to said target. Per the timestamp on the video, it takes exactly 1.27 seconds to reach the target, ie 1033 yards.
