Donna, I love how genuine you are. You made a "mistake" and you totally owned it and gave real life options - keep it or fix it. Thanks for keeping it real for us newer quilters out here.
Dearest Donna, leave the pillow! Once it's in use, whose gonna see it ? And Thank you for sharing. You know the rest of us quilt in a vacuum with zero interruptions, too. Love love love watching your videos over and over.
SOLD! This will be my next project beginning today, even tossing aside the pineapple ruler I’d bought to make a pineapple quilt. The pineapple blossom strip-apple pineapple wins my contest. Phew! What relief now having a solid direction to go. We’re heading to Hawaii next week with a friend, and we’ll be visiting a pineapple farm, so this quilt will be the perfect gift for her. Thank you! 🍍
Donna i so enjoyed watching this video. I look forward each day to your videos. You have a wonderful way of teaching. Thanks so much for sharing your talents.
Beautiful Quilt Donna. Your Such A Great Teacher. Love Love Love This Pineapple Quilt. I’m Going To Make It For My Granddaughter Who’s A Math Teacher For 7th Graders & Her Husband For Christmas. Thank You!💜💜💜
Saturday morning here in Norway, and the first order of business is to drink coffee and look for new videos from Donna. So happy every time there is a new one! These videos have been a great comfort in this horrible year. Thank you Donna and Jordan Fabrics. Hope to see some more "holiday sewing projects" soon. :)
Norway, Los Angeles California, I guess it doesn’t matter where we are we all spend our time together. I didn’t even know how to sew until this year. I’m still learning how to sew straight. So whenever Donna says “just little bit over the line” I laugh. But last week I made my first quilt top following Donna’s instruction. The back side is a mess. I got confused with which way to iron the seam line but the front looks half decent! Yay. I feel accomplished no matter what.
I just bought this pattern. My daughter likes it and her husband asked for a king size with side drop. When I read the fabric requirements/ cutting instructions, I couldn’t help thinking “that’s a lot of wasted fabric”. But your pillow idea and pieced border solution will ease my frugal soul. Thank you again for all your tutorials!
Hi Donna just catching up with videos. Your latest creation Pineapple quilt is stunning you have a great eye for colour. Teaming the black with the batiks looked striking. Thank you for sharing your time and tips. Love and hugs xx
So that’s why my corners never match up! I’ve never thought about sewing a little past the drawn line. Donna, you’re a treasure to all of us quilters out here. You’re an awesome teacher!
I'm just in the process of making this pattern, but the coloured bits will be from my son's small clothes. It's gonna be a bed throw and cushion covers as well... Can't wait for the final result... 😊 Thank u very much for such a beautiful quilt and great inspiration... ❤️ Greetings from Scotland...
This is a beautiful quilt An you make it look so easy. Step by step! Your the best at explaining An methods of putting together -- love all you vidioes--
Crei delle meraviglie con le tue mani, mi piacerebbe venire negli Stati Uniti per imparare d te.......ma è un sogno che non si avvererà mai. Intanto ho i tuoi video ,grazie per tutti i progetti che condividi.
I watch your videos over and over, I just enjoy them and learn so much, and as I am watching this one I wonder if you enjoy making them as much as your followers enjoy watching.. Thank you for all you do.
LOVE this quilt!! Thanks, Donna!! Oh, and it is nice to know you make errors once in a while yourself. To me, you’re AWESOME sewer, presenter, teacher, and designer of all these quilts and accessories! Thank You!!
I love the quilt and fabrics you used. I have definitely gotten sidetracked and had to rip it rip Thanks for sharing. I love your plaid nails and I would definitely like to steal your shirt!!😂😂
Hello from Scotland. Love your videos, the way you take us through all the stages, the tips particularly fabric choices. Excellent for beginner to advanced quilter. Thank you.
Donna, you do us all proud! You are the best teacher. I love watching how you can produce these amazing quilts so well and so quickly. And you do patterns! You show us how to do things better all the time. And this is the first time I found you were also human! My heavens, woman! You even get prettier as you get older - which is down right criminal! Don't worry - we won't tell on you! Because you are the best teacher of all!
Thank you for your kind words! I make mistakes all the time, but my son who does the filming can edit and re-film the corrections! What was so funny with this pillow is that I stitched it, ironed it and admired it for a long time before I even realized that I had turned quite a few of the blocks differently than when I laid them all out!
I am normally a crocheter, and love to crochet, but I have a 9month old and he is getting very handy... (I do have 3 other older children, so I know kids are kids). I am also coming up to my 13th wedding anniversary. How and why is this important? Well the hubby and I love to follow the Traditional wedding gift ideas, and that means this year is, you guessed it...the Fabric Anniversary! I actually started watching the Shabby Fabrics video on quilting for beginners, I started ordering fabric and fat quarters and some fabric by the yard. I need a stash, but also to cut my rectangles (I am doing the simple fence post/rail quilt pattern), this also led me to your UA-cam channel, and then to your webpage! I am in love with your fabrics! And will be getting a few different prints and yards. I am absolutely I. Love with your UA-cam channel now.
I LOVE 💕 YOUR AWESOME TUTORIALS! I have learned sew much from you. I fell in love with your quality products when I bought several types of products at your booth at the Houston International Quilt Festival. I especially love Matt’s pre-cuts! I still have a quilt kit I need to sew together. I thank all of you sew much for what you do for us, the quilting and sewing community.
Personally, I don’t like the look of quilts because of all the busy colors, but I can truly appreciate the beauty of your craft and the expertise you share with us all! A hearty thank you!
This quilt is beautiful. The crowning touch for me was using the pale blue and lavender sashing and the blue print as a border. The tiny black cornerstones were perfect.
I am pleasantly surprised how the batiks in the quilt make such a calming statement! I love this quilt! So much better than the one pictured on the pattern, which appeared very busy to me. I smiled when you pointed out your mistakes on the pillow front. I do this all the time! "As you sew so shall you rip!" A good seam ripper is a worthwhile investment. I should know.
Donna, I'm so glad that I have discovered you and subscribed. You are so inspiring . You teach so well and make it look so easy, even for total beginners like myself. Thank you so much. love love love all your bolts of fabric. I would give anything to visit jordan fabrics. amazing. that long arm machine is such a dream. wow. love from south africa
This is great. Its now on my to make list. I love using black with bright batiks. Just pulls all those wonderful colors out. And those little pillows are adorable ❤ Thanks for the video Donna 😃 And also such a beautiful quilt to giveaway ❤
Beautiful quilt. Thank you for sharing. Today’s lesson was how you treated the pinking sheared sides. I’m not sure why manufacturers use pinking shears. It adds confusion. But now I know to to let the pinking points stick out a bit, to pretend they aren’t there. Thank you for this unintentional lesson.
Such beautiful triangles! I have been a self taught quilter for the last 30+years and always appreciate input from other quilters. This tutorial is the easiest method yet to get those amazing triangles to work! Thank you Donna for your extra little tips to make quilting fun again!
Thank you for all your videos, both instruction and information. I am right in the midst of making a baby quilt for my first grandbaby, and this video helped affirm my plans with the panels and sashing. Love your content!!
Of all your quilts I think I love the daydream quilt! It seems old fashioned, the kind you'd find in grandma's cabin. . . rosey and cozy. 😊 Thank you for making quilting easy and fun!
I'm going to try Donna's party nail manicure. I picked out polish today. The party nails (on ring fingers) will be painted with a Sally Hansen color called "Strobe Light", lots of gold sparkles. The rest of the nails will be painted "Como se Llama" by OPI, which is a dark, very rusty red. That color is a dupe for a Dior nail color I wore back in the 1970s called "Cuir", which is the French word for "leather". I was thrilled to finally find a match for it after all these years.
Oh Miss Donna... this is just sharp! I so love pineapple (in all kinds of ways) ...and this block is so typically Miss Daniella, but you brought it to life amazingly! So so enjoy your vids... Thanks to you and Mr. Matt and family for doing all that you do!
Wow! The most impressive part of this entire video was Donna being honest and brave enough to own the mistake in the pillow (affirming my belief that she is indeed an honest and brave person all around )! I love pineapple quilts and plan on getting up my courage to make one soon. Thank you to Jordan Fabrics for providing a bright spot in a bad day.
This is definitely one of my favourite tutorials and have to add to my to do list, which is growing every time I watch you. You explain everything so clearly and beginner friendly. Thank you for another great giveaway... Happy quilting everyone ❤️🧵📏✂️🇨🇦
Donna, I love how genuine you are. You made a "mistake" and you totally owned it and gave real life options - keep it or fix it. Thanks for keeping it real for us newer quilters out here.
I made a mistake in a quilt layout and told it my mom and my niece. They didn't see it - as for me that pillow is beautiful.
Keep it abstract. Love it 🥰
It's not a mistake, it is a design decision. That's what I tell myself
It's not a mistake, it's a learning experience.
I sit up all night long watching your quilting tutorial
Haha doing that now.
When I can't sleep I watch your videos again & again. I love ALL of them!!
Donna, I say leave it as an abstract, there are no mistakes. Your instructions make it easy to follow, thanks and have a great weekend.
Dearest Donna, leave the pillow! Once it's in use, whose gonna see it ? And Thank you for sharing. You know the rest of us quilt in a vacuum with zero interruptions, too. Love love love watching your videos over and over.

I love watching your videos. If I had a long arm I would have to sit and watch it sew. That looks so relaxing to watch.
Absolutely stunning ❤️
I just bought this pattern. My daughter likes it and her husband asked for a king size with side drop.
