I can't decide which I like better - Donna's teaching/instructions or James' camera work. So I'm going to have to give both of you five stars. I'm SO impressed with every little angle he chooses for the viewers like myself to enjoy - not only for making Donna's teaching oh so clear, but also for the shear entertainment for my eyes. It's like James knows exactly what I'd want to see if I could be there in person and lean over up close and personal to whatever Donna is doing. Thank you, Jordan Fabrics, for all the preparation you do to make these tutorials so professionally done. I just wish someone out there would set up an annual contest for best quilting videos in different categories so I could vote for you. 😍

We have to give ourselves some leeway, we learn to crawl before we walk. People just learning to paint can’t expect their first canvas to look like a Leonardo Da Vinci masterpiece, so why do we expect our first quilt to look perfect? Enjoy the learning curve! You don't just make it look easy, you actually make it easy! I would love to have seen how the green thread looked on this one, so I guess I'll have to make one and find out. I've used that bright green several times and the results were surprising in that it blended so well with just a pop of color. One thing I'd be interested in knowing is the total time it takes you to make one of your projects. Thank you again so much, and I'm looking forward to visiting your shop in the near future!

Suzy S, I encourage you to find some “free motion quilting” on a domestic sewing machine tutorial videos on UA-cam. It is not “easy” to manhandle a large quilt in a domestic machine, but it is doable. Even simple wavy lines will work (that’s what I did on my first quilt which was a jelly roll race 2 design). If you can’t reach the centre of your quilt with your machine, consider hand-quilting in the centre and then machine quilting the outer third or so, which is what I did on my second quilt. Neither recipient gave it back saying they didn’t like it because the quilting wasn’t perfect! 😁

Something I have come to appreciate in the year I have been watching is the fact that you don't assume the viewer has been here before. No detail is too small to repeat ( 1/4 inch seam, how to finger press, dry then steam press etc)which makes every video suitable for the beginner or new patchwork artist. And, it is that repetition that has made me a better piecer because I remember those techniques even when I am not working on something from one of your videos. Thank you so much for your consistent instruction and excellent technique! I make a bet with myself on which thread color you will choose for the quilting. My success rate is getting better!

Thank you Donna for making my world and the world a better place. My late Mom taught me how to sew on her now 40 & 50 year young machines. When she passed last year, I brought her machines to my home unsure of what to do w/her beloved friends. Shortly there after, my sewing bug awoke who'd been asleep for 40 years. A quilting friend who lives in Grants Pass told me about Jordan Fabrics. I've just finished my first human sized quilt by watching your Hint of Fall quilt video. You're a natural born artist and teacher. Talking sweetly to us while moving through all the steps to easily make a quilt. Talking while working, pausing your words while your Juki does her work, thank you for inspiring me and giving me a new life. My husband and I had plans to go early to our favorite coffee shop this morning. And then I came into UA-cam and saw this new video. The date with my husband can wait until the video is over. Thank goodness Joe is so easy going! He knows how I am with new videos from Donna Jordan! This is a really pretty quilt and I thank you for sharing it. I love your method of teaching us all how to make quilts. I especially like the way you teach us all how to iron! Thank you so much for all you do!

I LOVE this quilt and pattern! And, Donna, great color choices. This pattern has just made it to the top of "Quilts I must make immediately" list. And, Ladies, if you haven't purchased the Cozy Quilts Strip Tube Ruler, get it now. I just made my first quilt using this ruler, and it came out perfectly - amazing! I own the large Strip Tube Ruler (I can cut small to large tubes), and it comes in a smaller size as well. It is sooo easy to use, and your cut block sizes come out PERFECT (no squaring up blocks if you cut correctly - an incredible time, back, hands and wrist saver!). Thus ruler is a must have! Thanks, Donna, another great vid. Lindsay, Sacramento❣

I agree - I don't like to have lots of different templates and specialty rulers, but I use the Strip Tube Ruler all the time!

The quilt is truly beautiful and ful of springtime joy. Ms. Donna, I appreciate your explanations paired with excellent video. Great job! Thanks so much for sharing... blessings to all y'all.

Donna, you’re the best in quilting tutorials! Why? Because you explain why Cutting accuracy counts, seams and nesting seams, finger pressing and HOW and WHY pressing is so important. Camera angles and closeups are exceptional and finally watching the long arm quilting being done on “our quilt “ you just created here with us! Inspired here in Wisconsin!

I love the colors in this quilt! But how you explain your techniques are very helpful. How you keep blocks together as you sew so you don't need to flip and second guess and pressing when you have so many pieces! These are a couple of ones I struggled with as I quilt. The quilting pattern you chose is absolutely perfect for one I will be making. Hummingbirds are a link to our mother that my sisters and I keep going and I have been doing with my daughters. I am recovering from shoulder surgery and will not be able to quilt for awhile so watching you makes my day. Thank you!

Hi Malathi, exciting to find a quilter from India. I’m a big fan of paisleys and tapestries I’ve seen from your country. I’m from Maine in the United States. Maine has long cold winters with lots of snow. I especially love sewing, my bindings on in front of our wood stove when I come in from feeding and caring for my two horses when it’s bitter cold outside. Lol, I tend to take a long time before I get around to sewing the bindings on in the summer when I can get out to work in the garden and work on our yard. Much love from Maine.
