Thank you for posting as i watch all of your shows. The only issue I can see is that the IDS pre-heat / cold could potentially be abused by the Power provider (aka) during potential brown out conditions that may apply. Meaning, they could determine your consumption. Assuming individuals can Opt out, like Smart thermostats.. being cloud based (IoT) could also being in potential for bad code from a threat actor(s) to be pushed to the unit, "bricking" it or causing the unit to malfunction by running too much. But that's always an issue with anything smart.. If it's smart, it's vulnerable
Any idea when they are releasing for purchase. If the IDS ultra cold climate is available over the 2.1 ids, then I'll purchase the CC version. But I can't find the CC unit anywhere.
It's Chinese and it's sending data via antenna instead of using your wifi. I would definitely recommend you disconnect the antenna and block any outgoing traffic if you decide to connected to your wifi. I recommend you use your home network VPN to access the system from anywhere, this way you are not letting China or anyone see your unit.

Exactly. The government is always trying to gain control over people. It’s hitler and Stalin all over again.

Let someone else control my home? Yeah, right. Stalin and Hitler would love this.
Ah yes, Stalin and Hitler were famously really keen on optional demand-response electricity systems..
