Israel is never going to do a permanent ceasefire because Netanyahu himself has no intent of doing a permanent one.
Hamas is still in power and that the problem
The main hurdle to a ceasefire is Hamas.
Hamas has lost by every definition of the word, yet they fail to surrender.
They must surrender.
Period.
Note that Barbara Lee has absolutely no content in her response of HOW we will get to a permanent ceasefire.

Permanent ceasefire? There is no permanence.
Long standing is possible.
Two-state solution is not possible.
And it is not 25,000 civilians - that is the death count reported by the Palestinian Health Ministry. Of that we KNOW that 9,000 or more are Hamas militants.
19,000 - 15% of those are likely caused BY HAMAS (15% of Hamas + Islamic jihad rockets fall short of their civilian targets in Israel and killing Palestinians, thank ALLAH!!! /s)
Thank you Adam for noting that it is possible to mourn both innocent Israeli and Palestinian civilians - over 100,000 Israelis have been relocated in border regions.

Barbara Lee absolutely killed this debate. She was confident, spoke clearly on her position, and didn’t shy away from any question. And her 2 state solution is the only way to peace.

What is more sickening and tiring is to read comments from bigoted and blinded followers and supporters of the disgraced, infamous, failed former president and MAGA leader! That MAGA leader who was twice impeached and four times indicted on 91 felony counts, including stealing classified documents and trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in his favor (his lawyers even filed 60+ election fraud cases and all were dismissed by the court judges, most of whom were the MAGA leader's appointees), that MAGA leader who was confirmed and found liable by the grand jury and the court in E. Jean Carroll's sexual battery and defamation cases. In other words, a sexual predator! MAGA supporters believe that their lives will be better and they will become rich once the MAGA leader returns to office because he is good at business without realizing that, based on NY AG's investigation and mounting evidence that her office has gathered in his business fraud case, allegedly he was able to grow and expand his business corporations *due to fraudulent activities in many years!* Bear in mind that he inherited the booming economy of the Obama administration before COVID hit the world, where over a million Americans lost their lives, as reported, and every country in the world has suffered an economic crisis due to the pandemic. When President Biden took office, his administration did the best they could to recover the economy, produce jobs, etc., and handle the situation left by the MAGA leader. The national debt has risen by almost $7.8 trillion, as reported during the MAGA leader's time in office, even BEFORE the pandemic happened. Not to mention the effect on price hikes on all basic commodities due to the invasion of Russia into Ukraine, which resulted in the demise of innocent lives because of the Russian leader's obsession to have Ukraine under his control. That Russian leader is MAGA leader's bff. In addition, the situation in Israel is due to the decades-long conflict between Israel and Palestine; just like the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Hamas attack caused and resulted in many innocent lives being lost! It's really sickening and tiring that MAGA supporters were completely blinded by the MAGA leader's playbook of lies and disinformation spread by his lackeys, media enablers, and by himself! WAKE UP, MAGA!

Many of these same seniors are in excellent shape. If you combine their mental acuity, physical strength, and decades of life experience, you have a candidate that can really change things. They can also mentor younger Congress members. We can’t count them out. I don’t know about the woman you were speaking about. I live in Texas.
You've noticed Rep. Lee as an old woman, or maybe even Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi and many others at the Democrat Party who are doing brilliantly great in their own rights and respective jobs, whether you like it or not, even if they're already old!
