- FOX 11/POLITICO/USC co-host the first TV and radio debate in the race for U.S. Senate.
It features Democratic members of Congress Adam Schiff, Katie Porter, and Barbara Lee and Republican baseball legend Steve Garvey.
The moderators are FOX 11 anchor Elex Michaelson and POLITICO's Melanie Mason.
The debate was hosted at Bovard Auditorium on the University of Southern California campus.
I will not be voting for Barbara Lee,
California needs a serious change, career politicians like Adam Schiff have failed us time and time again. I’m voting for Steve Garvey!

Do you really want your healthcare cost to include your portion of the 16.1 billion dollars of profit to insurance company stockholders, who do nothing for your care, they simply own stock? That 16.1 billion dollars would go a long way providing actual healthcare.

Barbara Lee. Is she the one who's representing Oakland, the city that lost the Raiders, the city that's gonna lose the Oakland A's, the city that's also gonna lose its last In-N-Out fast food restaurant in 2 months due to the city's rampant car break-ins and burglaries?
She isn't on the city council. She represents them in Congress.

@@williamwatson4625 I'm absolutely fine with Katie Porter or Adam Schiff who are both younger. That wasn't the point though. One can choose almost any Congressional Representative and definitely any Senator and find a not very desirable location in their district. The point I was making is when it comes to issues in a city, it's the city council and local officials, not Congressional Reps to hold responsible for local issues. Congress doesn't set local/city laws or get involved in local issues, other than to be a helping hand in a crisis moment.

But what does the Oakland city council and their mayor have in common with Barbara Lee? THEY'RE ALL DEMOCRATS.
Moreover, just like Oakland's mayor Sheng Thao and her predecessor (Libby Schaaf), Barbara Lee, Katie Porter, Adam Schiff,... are all in favor of "de-funding" the police. Personally, I've never been in favor of "de-funding" the police, because look what Oakland has turned into. It's not pretty, and stores are closing their doors for good and moving out of Oakland and the whole Bay Area.
That In-N-Out burger joint on Hegenberger Rd in Oakland (the only In-N-Out in Oakland) that's closing its doors for good at the end of March due to "unsafe environment", it won't be the last. We'll see McDonald's, Walmart, Target,........ following suit in the coming months.
Garvey is going to make me tune out. He's nothing but platitude and bragging so far. Get to the point of your question.

Well said N2Jj. The 3 dems keeps California in bondage. Hamas has said themselves , it will happen again and again. They will not accept a 2 state solution. Lee wants everyone else to pay for college for the rich also. Anyone poor should be able to get a grant. Cali doesn’t have housing bc Nusom is housing illegals over its own citizens. Shiff doesn’t know how to tell the truth not porter.
