This debate had the worst format and moderation I’ve ever seen and you guys didn’t even have a live audience making things more difficult. How the hell do you respond to a question in 15 seconds?

The participants were very civil and well-behaved, unlike the out of control Republican Presidential debates.
Don't know what you were looking for but I appreciated that the moderators kept control of the proceedings and they insisted that the candidates answer their questions.

That's not really true, especially when the moderators ask stupid questions, like what have you learned about yourself during this campaign? That's a personal question that anyone can be sure that none of them are going to answer.

The debates we have today seem to be all about personality, one-liners and gotchas.
What they ought to do is to write out the questions in advance and then let them debate their answers between each other. We want people with good judgement not just people who can entertain and audience - Trump proved that.

I compare this debate with their last one in which the moderators could not keep the candidates from going over time (looking at you, Barbara Lee) and talking over one another. To me debates serve two purposes: the opportunity to watch how the candidates behave in a stressful situation, which is why they don't know the questions beforehand, and to see how well they can think on their feet. Given that debates serve the purpose of job interviews, I was okay with the fluffy "what have you learned" question. Many of the questions were actually the toughest I've heard from moderators maybe ever. To each their own. Cheers.

The kind of stress that is this BS show in public is not a good indicator of someone's effectiveness on the job. A good example of that is Joe Biden who is a god-awful debator in public and has no charisma at all. I don't care about charmism or how someone behaves in front of an audience.

Is another thing that is not of primary importance. Look at Reagan who had acting training and lots of time in front of audiences - he could always come up with a slick one-liner, but his policies had cowboy appeal, but he is the one who started the country on this debt problem.
To their credit this debate was better than the last, but the male announcer in the last debate just irked the heck out of me. It was terrible. There was too little time in this debate, and the questions were not good.
There really is no thinking on their feet because they are going to come prepared with slogans and one-liners that they always resort to when a question doesn't suit them.
As a media, you should give Steve an equal opportunity as the other three. You aren't fair!!!

He ignores one of his daughters. She doesn't know why. Decades ago his ex wife Cynthia ( HE called her Cyndi) called him a Media prostitute) I believed her. Other women criticized her for speaking about his mistreatment of her by him. This was decades before the Me Too movement. She was on the Oprah Winfrey show in the 1980s. Women hissed at her for " slandering" America's baseball player. I believe Cynthia. Always have.
Make life affordable? Eliminate the middleman in health care. That means that the medical insurance industry that maximizes its own record profits increasing year after year why delaying and denying health services for patients -- needs to go. CalCare for California is moving through the California legislature. Get on board and help make it happen. Universal high quality health care for every resident of California. Si se puede!
I had motorcycle accidents in a couple of countries in Europe. I burned my leg and was hospitalized. I was a tourist. I never paid one drachma, mark, or even an American dollar. In USA when you enter an emergency room they first ask you, " what kind of medical insurance do you have?" I was treated for a small cut on my finger washing dishes. I didn't have medical insurance despite working 2 waitress jobs . My bill for a bandaid not stitches in the 1980s was almost$400. Today it would be over $1000+.. In Europe they asked my name first and assessed my emergency immediately. I soon realized in Europe PEOPLE COME FIRST and in U$A $$$$$$$$$$$$$ comes first.
Thanks for sharing this. Too many Americans are in their own bubble and don't realize how much we put up with. If you are in California, CalCare is coming but we could use your help. I'm a retired administrator who watched our local school budget face double digit inflation on health care costs for teachers and staff. Extra student programs were cut back and teachers and staff didn't get the raises they otherwise would have. Garvey recognizes nuclear is a good clean energy source
Newsom kept Diablo Canyon open after all the Dems insisted it must be closed. If it were closed state would have browned out last summer. HairGel thinks he's going to be President so he kept it open.

That is a major pity. That is a huge issue, but Garvey is not qualified, he cann't win, and he said he was going to be a one-term Senator which is just stupid. Nuclear is one of the most important issues in the world, let alone CA.
I think the reason the US is sour on nuclear is that our infrastructure, if nuclear, would be sitting dirty bombs to the smart accurate ICBM missiles if another super-power decided to bomb us in an all out attack.
We should be doing a massive build out of nuclear, and offering to sell turn-key plants to other countries, and maybe staffing them as well. That would bring postive cash flow. The anti-nuclear people are so wrong - including Katie Porter who I like. We should never have closed San Onofre - that set back climate change goals bigtime.

I don’t even know how much hamburger is, but if minimum wage in California is $20/hr does that mean hamburgers are $40? Of course not. So I would doubt a hamburger would be over an hours worth of minimum wage if minimum wage was $50/hour.

The Democratic Party had a “Deporter In-Chief” who deported the most immigrants (both legal and illegal) in modern U.S.A history who just so happened to be the First African-American POTUS in U.S.A history too (Obama). Who do I think won the debate for now? Porter. But I think history will look back at Lee as winning this because she took principled stances that I think in the future will be shown to be the right decisions such as demanding a ceasefire in regards to Israel, and saying she would never vote to put troops on the ground in Taiwan

I think Barbara Lee won. She was the only candidate to call for a cease fire in the Middle East. War, slaughter and genocide is not what should be morally or financially supported overwhelmingly in our Foreign Policy.

I hate that Adam and Katie are running against each other. They're 2 of our best congressman . And I'm sick of Republicans and corporations saying the only cure for inflation is to sacrifice the middle and lower class by price gouging and laying them off. Inflation can be lowered easier by sacrificing corporation's all time high executive bonuses and historic high profits. Corporations would barely feel it compared to the devastating affects of layoffs & high prices on middle and lower classes. Make the wealthy take the hit this time.
