I’ll remember this Tweezer forever. I was there at MSG, my sister was simultaneously passing away back in my hometown unbeknownst to me.
This song transported me on a spiritual ride, and maybe in light of what happened there was some additional reasons my mind went where it did that night.
This is the first time I’m relistening to it. Phish is the soundtrack of my life in many ways. Now this Tweezer is just one more reason why.

Phish's music sounds like it's meant to express what must feel someone who just escaped a 4th-stage cancer, goes outside the hospital for the first time since long, breathes the air, feels the sun, sees all the people outside, the birds, everyone living their life, and feels the utter bliss of being alive.
I read there and here that they're the greatest active rock band, and I believe it to be true : they just are.

sorry for posting again and coming back, just to insist on saying that 29: to 35: is one of the rarest and sheerest expressions of happiness in modern music. An emotion so very few were ablo to express, and in rock, probably them only can do it, which is why they're the greatest, period.

Witnessed this live and it was the most awe inspiring improv jam I've witnessed in person. So thankful to have shared this moment!

Great pocket of the music. Radio city ghost like a bit , vibes different they play to venues so well the gorge, portland meadows, worcester, but both instances walked out into nyc speechless. Lots of musicians and listeners associate colors/textures with sounds/tones these guys these lights never forget only thing my friend I was with said was "aliens would be impressed" :)
He also has take that jaws is most influential movie ever and before then nobody feared water lol. I remind him of moby dick, hemingway but great take, Made some moments camden chalkdust. They go from so playful to spiritual I know everyone has there shows , songs, moments this is a special one!

I think it can take years of listening, re-listening and digesting jams to ultimately determine their worth in the all-time ranks. In my opinion, after doing just that with this performance of Tweezer, it ranks as a top 10 performance that Phish has ever performed.
Much of the discussion of this jam centers around the 20:00-24:00 mark. Which is stunning improvisation, no doubt. But make no mistake, before and after those blissful minutes are absolutely stellar improvisational moments.

Definitely hitting Forum because it’s the perfect arena for Phish, and then begrudgingly Chase Center even though Bill Graham is heaven. But do I head East? Does three days on a AC beach, where it looks like the weirdest crowd shape possible, even sound fun?! Hmmmm. After this long tour, they’ll be friggin dialed by then...

The last third of this, starting at 24:00, is my favorite part of all of this. I’ve relistened so many times. Jazzy, dancey, Page doing his thing, all leading up to a great peak. I also love it because Trey could have easily transitioned to another song but chose to keep going. Once they went back up tempo I knew they were gonna take it for a ride.

Don’t know where to start !! An amazing Tweez. I have seen live many of Tweezers all the way back from 93. Each has its presence in the moment of the show. This one was exceptional and at the 20 min mark and on that many point out. You hear Bern, Bowie, Jerry , all of the influential music icons that they all love come out. Which in my opinion this Tweezer stands apart from Tahoe and others. Keep raging Thank u
