Still years later, the 20 Minute Mark -> On is some of the most beautiful music i've ever heard. Such a special jam, this song really hits your soul...
That was around the time I turned to my show buddy and we both were like, is this real life right now?? Still feel lucky to have been at this heater of a show.
I’ll remember this Tweezer forever. I was there at MSG, my sister was simultaneously passing away back in my hometown unbeknownst to me. This song transported me on a spiritual ride, and maybe in light of what happened there was some additional reasons my mind went where it did that night. This is the first time I’m relistening to it. Phish is the soundtrack of my life in many ways. Now this Tweezer is just one more reason why.
I am right there with you, my friend. It's hard to try to put into words, and I would never ask anyone to do so. There is always love, light, and sound.
Witnessed this live and it was the most awe inspiring improv jam I've witnessed in person. My friend was jumping up and down and going nuts during the jam and I was borderline catatonic, just trying to soak every second in. I'll never forget where I was when this went down. So thankful to have shared this moment!
Phish's music sounds like it's meant to express what must feel someone who just escaped a 4th-stage cancer, goes outside the hospital for the first time since long, breathes the air, feels the sun, sees all the people outside, the birds, everyone living their life, and feels the utter bliss of being alive. I read there and here that they're the greatest active rock band, and I believe it to be true : they just are.
Like I said to the guy next to me this is why ya keep coming back after 25 years and counting.... Thanks for the memories and to be able to continue to make more ....

Rigz Digz I was doing the same thing. I was surprised the free live stream went on for so long. It was truly something special. I went through so many emotions watching this.
One of the best at transporting to another level consciousness every show. To me, although very different, they took up the mantle of pure joy and spirituality of sound that the Dead excelled at.
You’re reminded about how great Phish is when you see a stadium full of people in euphoria over a great jam. But you’re reminded how happy Phish makes you when you actually catch a shot of yourself on a LivePhish video losing your mind at a show! Can confirm this was an experience to see live

I think it can take years of listening, re-listening and digesting jams to ultimately determine their worth in the all-time ranks. In my opinion, after doing just that with this performance of Tweezer, it ranks as a top 10 performance that Phish has ever performed. Much of the discussion of this jam centers around the 20:00-24:00 mark. Which is stunning improvisation, no doubt. But make no mistake, before and after those blissful minutes are absolutely stellar improvisational moments.

124 shows here since 1999, and I've been talking a LOT of smack on Phish the last couple years. But this jam is nearly as good as it gets! This run, on tape, sounds like GREAT Phish!
