Thank you for sharing the video with us. Could you perhaps give us with more examples of electronic ND testing in a variety of scenarios? Thank you again!

Yes great idea! We are going into summer in Australia so I should have plenty of opportunities to use the vnd in real world projects. Will make a video when I get a few examples 😃👍

Thanks for the encouragement! I’ll keep making them as long as people keep watching and finding value in them. I’ve learned a lot making these videos the past year so it has been beneficial for me too!

why they look so different? problame with the settings? as i understand they use the same sensor but the fx6 looks much better - maybe the polar pro nd?

Same sensor but many variables. I possibly had a different white balance, different lens etc.

Great video. I love the FX6 and love the internal VND, however, in some cases, it's better not to use it. The internal VND is a huge time saver, but there's a drawback, it adds vignetting and strange muddiness to the corners, especially on wider lenses, and does something weird to the skin tones. I originally thought that the "lobster" blotchiness on the FX6 skin tones was the camera's sensor, but then after testing with fixed and other brand VND's I found that the skin tone issue was caused by the internal VND. Even Sony themselves say that the electronic VND is not in the Sony Venice because it does not meet the requirements for high-end film production. Obviously, the FX6 internal VND can be great in most cases, but for TV commercials and narrative content, it's better to stay away and use an external option.

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing about the limitations of the VND. I'll keep a lookout for it. To be honest, I add vignetting to a lot of my shots in post! But will look out for skin tones being off when using the VND.
