I've got a couple 4th gen UWP-D receivers in the 90 block. Just waiting on Sony to release a 4th gen version of their dual receiver because the 3rd gen isn't over in the 90 block. 4 channels of audio is such an underrated feature of this camera.
Many thanks for these straight forward, clear, very informative and very helpful videos. This is the nitty gritty stuff that makes a huge difference to understanding what it’s like working with the camera at “The Coal face”.
It’s the Shinobi SDI 5 inch version. It’s now discontinued and been replaced with the Shinobi 7, which still has SDI, but is bigger, brighter and more expensive.
Thanks for the encouragement! Check to see in the menu that MLUT is off for internal record. You can find this under User > LUT On/Off. If you are editing in FCP then it automatically applies the Sony rec709 LUT. Click on "Info Inspector" when you click on your clip and then go to Camera LUT and change it to "none" if you want to colour correct with another plugin. I use ColorFinale.
Very informative video as always 👍🏻 can it be that with catalyst browse you can only stabilize one clip at a time and then have to close the program and start again? 🤔 at least that's how it is for me. I have not yet found a solution to stabilize several clips at once and just as little to initiate a new process after a successful stabilization process 🥴 best cinematic greetings from germany
Good point, I haven’t looked to see if you need to restart the program after each stabilisation. Will need to have more of a play around with it. Thanks for watching. Always appreciate your support 👍
I noticed you use the Atomos Shinobi SDI on your FX6. I just got my FX6 and consider the Shinobi over the Ninja V Pro Kit as I feel like there is no need for external RAW. Any thoughts on that? How does the Shinobi work with the FX6 even though it does only accept Full HD signals?
I like the Shinobi! I don't have any desire right now to shoot external RAW. I'm happy with recording to SD or CFexpress cards for my workflow, so Ninja isn't needed for the majority of my projects. Image quality of the screen works for my needs. No fan as well, so don't need to worry about fan noise for interview audio. The screen can run hot, which is something to be aware of. I know other FX6 users love using SmallHD monitors, so if you have the budget you could look into those. Thanks for watching and hope the video was helpful!

You’re welcome! Thanks for watching a commenting. Looking forward to making more videos 👍
Thank you for mentioning the zoom position display option. That’s exactly what I need. I’d rather see my focal length then zoom position . 🙌🏽😃
Absolutely! I find it much more helpful and it’s good that we have the option!
What Atomos monitor are you using that has SDI out? I cant seem to find that one on their site.

Mate, loving these videos! I wanted to ask. I can’t seem to figure out how to view/monitor with a LUT without baking it in. Any tips? Thanks mate.

How do you feel about only having 8 bit in long gop though?
In 4K it's 8-bit, but in 1080p it's still 10-bit. Not a big problem for me. I'm aware of the limitation so it hasn't been a "gotcha!" yet!
