I think a converting chaos possessed series would be sweet
Agreed! I think the heretecs should get more atension.
He could start out with chaos undivided, maybe word bearers?
This
Give this man an award.
Ya, or a legion specific daemon prince series
I love the idea of giving distinct designs to each of the Admech forge worlds, personally I would like to see your take on the more obscure forge world of Deimos, the highly secretive armorers of the Grey Knights
The smaller jacket looks great on the model. Looks like that would look great for a solar axilla uniform too.
Yeh it came out surprisingly well, I was worried that it would effect the over all appearance too much but he's still easily recognizable as a Skitarii.
It would be remiss of me if I did not mention the potential of Deimos for a future video. Specialists in manufacturing psy-gear, the connection to the Grey Knights and the old Mars. Plenty of potential there that we would love to see your take on.
Regardless, excited to see more!
Great idea! There's little in the fluff to give them any particular stylings but leaning into that Knight > Serf kind of the relationship between the GK them might be an angle to pursue.
AdMech getting some love?! Yes, please :D
More to come too :D
Do Stygies VIII. With their history of xenos exploration there's a lot to work with
Exactly,I was thinking of doing a Stygies VIII tech priest myself
Just give them gauss weapons. Bam, instant Stygian Cogbois.
So much yes! I think some eldar parts in there definitely wouldn't hurt!
That Xeno-tech angle would be fun. Trying to create something that skirts the fine line between curiosity and full blown tech heresy could be an interesting challenge.
I can't upvote this series enough. I've always converted my imperial guard but I've been a little hesitant to convert these guys
But now you can :D
I converted a Stygies VIII radical tech priest by taking a Tech Priest Dominus and adding the legs form a Skorpech destroyer along with multiple bit tipped guitar strings flowing out from under the robes; I would absolutely love to see your interpretation of a conversion like this. Love the vids! Hope you’re chillin like a villain.
That would also work well for a more radical Heretek kind of Ad Mech too!
I really like the look of this one. The lower profile and compact design just feels so efficient and is such a clever take on them being teleport specialists. Overall it feels kinda like paratroopers especially with the shorter weapons.
Paratroopers were exactly my line of thinking too. They need to be as compact as possible whilst also taking plenty of gear to handle being cut off from supply lines.
I'd love to see Stygies VIII next! A mixture of sneaky admech with a xenos technology angle would be very cool!
Nice idea!
Would be really cool to see more stuff like this. The admech in lore seam to have more diversity. But I've seen some real neat stuff done with necromunda bits to create more feudal world or underhive style admech
They certainly have a lot of potential but sadly, even in the artwork, they are all pretty much copy/paste with a slightly different colour scheme.
@@PeteTheWargamer Anything that isn't space marines seems to have this issue tbh. I suppose it's a byproduct of them being both a "new" playable faction, and not having the support or fan base that guard or space marines have.
Might be an idea to look to 3rd party bits. I can't imagine doing much more with them stock would be very easy.
I miss when codices had little guides like this to inspire you
Me too, it was that stuff that got me into kitbashing/converting in the firs place.
awesome glad you did a Skitarii my friend
The people have spoken! and we want MORE SKITARRI CONVERSIONS! Especially Deimos!
I love the limited parts tutorials. Way more practical than sourcing some parts.
Stygies VIII: cloaks and xenotech (probably necron or aeldari)
Ryza: Plasma coils and orky trophies
Metalica: loud-hailers and heavy weapons
Agripinaa: battle damage and defences
Graia: antennae and cogitators for logic, robotic stance
Mars: priestly scripture and huge cog symbols
Hell, maybe even make Deimos pristine, clean and inquisitorial
Good suggestions, thank you!
It would be cool to see a bull pup bolter convertions. Love the music by the way very fitting for the conversation.
I don't want to force (?) you to anything, but my idea for the ryza would be a masaquered, barely "alive" world due to the war with a ork dakka. So something like torn robes, ancient, barely working plasma, or orkish trophie bits / servitors would be fun.
Isn’t Ryza’s thing that they’re taking some form of delight in the invasion(s) using them as an opportunity to field test and hone their abilities?
@@EE-yd7ef Yeah, it may be possible, i don't remember it so much, and just roughly remember something about a gigant waaagh, and thought that something out of barely alive forge world has a lot of potencial.
The war torn aspect is definitely worth exploring, as would their notable prowess in close combat compared to other Forge worlds.
Another excellent tutorial. I understand if you wont reveal your secrets,.... but how do you stay motivated/with great ideas ? Do you do anything hobby related that gets the juices flowing? Are you secretly the emperor & will never run out of ideas?
It's kind of a mutl-stage process. I spend a lot of time reading through the lore in the Codexes and the Wikis which helps to give me an idea of what aspects of each chapter, regiment, character, I can focus on. I also like to look through sci-fi artwork that people make on instagram, deviant art and places like that, they help me to visualize how things like weapons and armour would look if I was following a particular theme.
But apart from that I play video games get a lot of inspiration from the concept art that goes into making them too.
4:27 That bit is the receiver rather than the stock. The receiver is the bit with all the gubbins in, and the stock is the bit at the back that goes against your shoulder, or upside your enemy's head in close-combat. This is another fantastic conversion. This dude looks very tacticool. Thank you for sharing it.
I think it's hard to pin down exactly what that part is but yeh I agree it definitely isn't the stock. I think chamber would probably have been a better description.
A simple but excellent conversion! Cutting down the robe into a short jacket really changes the silhouette, while the Vanguard remains instantly recognizable. Nice paintjob, too!
looks sick
Dark Mechanicum Skitarii would be sweet. Heretech, but sweet
Lucius Skitarii rolling up to the battlefield in his cargo shorts. Love it.
I know you made a post recently about what we would want to see converted but I have just remembered this one: Cherubs !!! It is so hard to find and if you need more of them they are impossible to find !!!
Glad to see more long-form content on the channel. Top notch work as always, I've come away inspired from your past videos and this one was no exception.!
My Skitarii are still in that torso/leg sub assembly and now I'm considering cutting off the cloaks just for this
Scitarii rocking the games table Pete excellent enjoyable and entertaining!
Really glad you merged the conversion and painting into one video here, Pete! Keep it up!
Great video as per usual!
Looks like a steampunk ww2 German engineer :D, love it!
Exquisite work as always!
Really looking forward to seeing more of these! I love the modifications to the radium carbine, it makes it look alot more like a carbine.
Great painting guide at the end as well. Thanks!
Nice looking model. I wish I saw this when I first started my AdMech army. :-) Love the conversion.
That looks amazing!
Glad to see some Adeptus Mechanicus on the channel. Please do more this faction has so much kitbash potential.
great to see this content! so insightful thanks pete
As someone who's getting ready to convert a squad of Skitarii for use in Necromunda, this is exactly the kind of conversion work I need. Definitely gonna try out that nice Radium Rifle conversion to represent their Las Carbines, and maybe apply some of the same concepts to their other conversions (I really like the idea of disassembling and reassembling parts in new in unique ways like that). Nice work!
Love the video! I'm doing some admech conversions at the moment and you just gave me some new inspiration!
Loving getting to see the painting process as well as the modifications :)
Very nice conversion, Pete!
Thank you very much!
Awesome work Pete
This is awesome, i'm halfway through kitbashing a custom successor chapter librarian from the mephiston kit!
This will be a good series!
Dark mechanicus ones would be great to see, it would be nice to make a army of them
Badass! Very distinct, but still identifiable at a glance ❤ Would love to see some kitbashes representing different T'au septs or Tyranid hivefleets too
I think you making snake bite ork nobs from the orruk brute kits would be a cool and fun conversation!
Great video as always pete!
Love to see you tackle Eldar Exodites
Cool conversion and paint job
I needed this, thank you
I'd love to see some of the minor forgeworlds like deimos.
Beautiful my dude
Exquisite, Pete.
I would love too see one for every forge world :O this is great
A series if Converting of primaris-scaled space marine scouts for each chapter would be pretty cool! Every chapter has a different way they approach their scouts so it could work without being too repetitive.
I love your conversion so much! With your permission, I'd like to borrow this pattern for my Ryza force - after all, slimming stuff down also makes sense if your primary tactic is getting in close and personal.
Looks good. I’m working on empire guard
Super cool im gunna make my
Killteam like this
I would love to see you tackle a killa kan, sentinel or armiger warglaives. But if you stay with admechs, a dunecrawler seems like a perfect base for conversion.
amazing!
Can’t wait for the next 40K minis videos!
I realy like these vids, it realy helps with not just existing sub factions, but also ideas for fan sub factions.
Also
Ways to convert Alpha legion chaos marines when?
Really nice, i love admech! Maybe next time you can convert a stygies viii skitarii or priest, i think you can add nice detail because they like to collect all kinds of alien technology
I'd be regretting it if I didn't mention this but please do forge world Deimos, seeing you add a grey knight theme to admech would be awesome.
Definitely looking forward to seeing a Stygies VIII one of these!
Nice :D Lucius is my Admech forgeworld!
Good choice! Rolling up with an army of Breachers and laughing at the all the small arms fire that just pings off them sounds like my idea of fun.
I think that a Primaris Pedro Kantor (the Crimson Fists Chapter master) would be cool
This was incredible!!! I would love to see all Forge worlds….. thooo Rize is the forge world I wanna build personal, so I am definitely leaning that way!
I honestly would love to see conversion of most armies, I just really like AdMech and Necrons currently😭
I would pay very good money for you to do all of the main forge worlds maybe even some of the obscure ones too...........and mortifactors
Would love to see how you'd go about making some stuff for dark mechanicus!
I would love some Agripinaa or Graia Skitarii
I actually REALLY like the cropped jacket look in this model, prefer it to the Robes to be honest, great looking model
Thank you!
Seeing forge world Ryza would be cool. Planning on making a kill team and wanted some ideas.
Could you try to convert some Armageddon stormtroopers? They are technically not Scions and I think you could do some interesting things with them. Otherwise you could make some Armageddon Skitarii. Armageddon itself produces quite a lot of tanks, but I can't imagine the AdMech not having any involvement.
A Rad Saturated Forge World would be cool
Dear Pete,
Is there any chance if in the description you could add list of boxes you used for each conversion you make? It would help a lot
More Forge Worlds please!
I feel like you'd get a similar result to the contrast mixture there by using nuln oil, honestly. Nice paintjob all the same.
Another gorgeous little guy! I only recently started painting myself and seeing your use of color is very educational. One question: How do you reliably paint the chest area of a mini if it is partially obscured, f.ex. by a weapon held across it, like an assault rifle or two-handed melee weapon?
I saw lucius and got excited and then sad. My man with get a model some day hopefully
I'm sorry, I will get to him eventually
You always put out great work my man haha. Im excited to see what you come up with for him. This skitarii was dope af!
Would love to see your take on converting the custodies troop unit from FrogeWorld.
Loving your conversion stuff, particular favourites being the Necrofex, space skaven and squat stuff. In terms of suggestions do you think you could take a crack and making a chaos android or man of iron? I always loved those things.
Where is the GIGANT TEXT when you say HANDY STORAGE BITS? >:O
I've been mulling over something like this but as a Guard army with heavily agumented troops
I want to steal your idea for cut down radium carbines for use as archaic style guardsmen lasguns
"So with everything done, lets take a look at the finished miniature"
*Proceeds to show it off with such stark lighting as to mask a lot of the details*
I'm being deliberately extreme here, and I understand that it is important to try new things. I think lighting more like previous tutorials would be better suited
Probably will try out aspects of the tutorial too, and good work with it
I, too, do all my painting in a tasteful shade... oh wait no I paint with bright lights like anormal person...
Ive been wanting to make a Khorne Champion in Terminator armor, but Im having issues finding a base I want to use. So I would love to see your take on a Khorne Champion.
dear pete the wargamer, i´ve got a cool idea for some awesome conversions/kitbashings, what about buildig some of the gaunts characters which didn´t get features by a modell yet but still got some narrative weight throughout the books...for example commissar hark with bionic arm and plasmapistol or eszrah night with wode-tattoos and his crossbow thingy or sergeant tona creed or the lucky scout mach bonin or a member of the belladoner marching band...lots of cool possibilities... ;)
Finally.
Have you ever tried the Vallejo Metal Air line? Beautiful paint for both airbrush and brushing on.
I would love to see one for stygies, maybe working in the xernite/xenos theme
Now to do 79 more of them for my list 🙃
do an army build of mechanical with this scheme!
How are the new GW synthetic brushes compared to the previous line, Pete? Considering trying a couple out when next I need newies. Great vid as always too mate!
May I request what was the music used in the background. I actually kinda dig it as sort of a background for working heh
Have you though about kitbashing that one sister of battle that hoy corrupted by Slaanesh?
I was thinking of making a fan fictions for my necron Dynasty located at the middle of the galactic north and the skitarii units of forge world lucius are near by.
How are you finding the new citadel brushes Pete?
They're alright. I've found them good for things like basecoats and washes but they don't hold a fine enough point for detail work. It will be interesting to see how they hold up over longer term use though.
Which varnish did you use through the airbrush? How did you thin it, if you had to thin it? Varnishing makes me so nervous about messing up my paint jobs...
