When calibrating, the light source should be sufficient, not one-sided light. If used in an enclosure, lights are required on all sides. It is also possible to calibrate the camera outside the enclosure. Just remember when placing the enclosure, be careful not to move the camera.
1. Industrial Camera for Laser Engraver:
This industrial assist camera is specially designed for laser engraving machines, which fully matches with the lightburn software. With a true high-definition 5MP, this laser camera can capture clearer images and identify more accurate positioning.
2. Precise Positioning:
The SCULPFUN CAM500 camera is perfectly fit with the CAM function of the Lightburn software, which can identify the position of engraving objects via the camera, with a positioning deviation of less than 1mm.
📌*Notice: The recommended height from the camera to the engraving position is 325mm. With the camera well aligned, please make the objects as close to the center of the camera as possible, within the 400*400mm working area. The precision will be decreased as the engraving objects are moved away from the camera center.
3. Engraving Position Controlling:
With the Sculpfun CAM500 Lightburn camera, you can move the pattern onto a certain position of the material through the lightburn software interface. After the setting is complete, the laser machine will engrave the pattern at that position.
4. Image Tracing:
Sculpfun CAM500 camera module can identify and extract the patterns from the surface of objects such as T-shirt patterns, children's hand-drawn patterns or other simple designs and form engraving vector files, which is super convenient for getting vector files quickly.
5. Batch Engraving:
Through the laser Lightburn camera, you can add multiple engraving objects and complete the different independent tasks at one time, without the need to preview the positioning of each engraving material. The laser will automatically find the engraving objects one by one and work on them, which improves the working efficiency.
6. HD Video Recording:
This Sculpfun laser engraving camera has a 120° wide-angle lens with a working area of 400*400mm. You can record the entire creation process of works through camera time-lapse shooting, easy for you to share the creative process with friends. And also makes the engraving and cutting visible and observable.
7. High Adaptability:
Two fixation structures, T-shaped fixation clamp and U-shaped fixation clamp, are available for Sculpfun CAM500 camera mount. T-shaped fixation clamp is suitable for SCULPFUN machine models including S6, S9, S10, S30/S30 Ultra series and almost all engraving machines with V-slot structure. Please note that the additional purchased area expansion kit is not applicable.
U-shaped fixation clamp is suitable for U-shaped beam machines.

can the area be increased to the 900 x 935 of the extension kit?
I too want to try this. It might require a taller mount for the camera to get the edges of the extension kit workspace.
Ordered a extension kit and a 33 ultra. Definitely gonna get the rotary axis for bottle cutting. Wow, did you see him throw down 4 toothpicks and engrave onto them perfectly? Very impressive that was to see with using that camera feature with lightburn. I also have to order lightburn soon though will start out with the freeware software with its limitations until my wallet isnt still on fire like it is now haha. Ouch, just burnt my fingers touching the wallet. Maybe able to make things to sell though!

Hi, I have 3 questions: 1) What is the angle of the camera, can I use it with the extension kit with an engraving area of 40 x 95 cm? 2) What is the height between the surface to be cut and the camera? and 3) What is the price of the camera

Would you mind to answer how it can be used with Expansion kit? Would the cam just use the smaller 40x40 atea and the remsining area is not covered by the cam?
@@netternachbar2813 It's been 7 months since you asked them on this public venue, were you able to find out since then, did you try contacting them directly?
Transparency sure goes a long way to avoid confusion on what exactly is required to purchase as to not end up with boxes of items that were not what you either expecting or hoping for.
I upgraded to the S30, which has the huge benefit of Bluetooth, which allows wireless communication between the computer and the machine. Now that camera appears, which unfortunately needs a USB connection with the computer again. Try to make the camera also send the images via Bluetooth, that would become a great differential for this product.
They should add WiFi support to the S30 as advertised on their Website😔.
Bluetooth isn't stable at my Machine. there are connection faults even with a big antenna.
You could potentially make some Raspberry Pi device, akin to Octoprint? I am new to Laser Cutting/Engraving, and know little on the code side of things, but i would bet there is some Open Source option for this out there. If not it would be a great project and/or Product!
@@ericlotze7724 that's possible, but in the picture of the Mainboard there was a Bluetooth and a wifi Symbol on the main chip.

There is a connector in the Mainboard oft the S30 for a U.FL antenna.
I added a Antenna from an Old WiFI Router.
I think the previous antenna I added was broken 😅Now it runs Stable 😎
