I just bought these and like them a lot, I watched and still checking out reviews on them anyway. Yours might be the best review I’ve seen, I also just subscribed. Keep up the great work, man.
The review, video quality best so far i have seen about the elite headset. I was worried about the base sound until u said base doesn’t matter as its going to effect gaming sound like foot stepss.. thjs makes sense now. Good job keep it up
Bro, anyone who uses gadgetry tech as a reference is a good source of info to me. I love joe man started watching him almost immediately when I started getting into audio and his subscriber count was like insanely low I couldn’t believe it considering how knowledgeable he was then I seen as time went on lower iq creators like mr techne and channels like that get a lot of love versus someone like joe or you. Y’all’s channels are seriously overlooked and i appreciate y’all very much. Thanks again.
Jesus Christ I was not trying to call techne low iq btw super nice guy it seems just less content about how they actually sound and what they can do it seems he has more interest in how they feel. Me on the other hand couldn’t care less give me a couple little Debbie chocolate donuts with a Twinkie holding them together wrapped in barbwire and if they sound like the Maxwell I’m running it. But yes I reread my comment and fuck I sounded like a dick lol.
Officially Sony is saying they're glued. Wicked cushions and a bunch of reviewers showed on video that it is not. Apparently it is not too hard to remove it with a butter knife.
have u checked if they work with a 3.5mm cable? please test for me whether you have to turn the headset on and for them to work wired, or u just plug and play without turning them on
Not really. As much as I hate the build quality, I do have to admit they don't feel easy to break, they just feel cheap. I've dropped them quite a lot and no damage yet
Hello! I just subscribed! I’m amazed at your surprisingly high quality production. I also have a question, if you’ll allow me: between the Pulse Elite and the Sennheiser HD560S, how do they compare regarding detail retrieval, imaging & soundstage? (I’m asking primarily for FPS gaming) Thank You very much! Here’s to many more videos on the future! 🍾
Sennheiser has better quality, go with the HD 490 Pro if your budget allows it. You would be losing the wireless functionality but wired will always be more reliable.
Does the Pulse Elite allow you to adjust the volume through the PS5 menus? I have been using the Pulse 3D but these options are always greyed out and the sound is really not loud enough in many games.
@@chettystudios Thank you. Do you understand this makes enough of a difference and the sound is considerably louder in the Pulse Elite than in the Pulse 3D?
@@chettystudios Something really odd is that while using both the Headset Gold and the Pulse 3D to watch trailers on PSN the audio is really loud, much more so than while actually playing games. If the sound were just as loud while playing games everything would have already been solved with no need to purchase another headset at all. And of course this comes after making sure that all the in-game volume options are set to max. Maybe it is still a configuration issue?
Do you not get a “crinkle” sound when the pod drop loading screen happens in Helldivers? Also get like a subtle ticketing sound as off the connection to the dongle isn’t strong enough.
I haven't had any audio issues except for a slight high pitched frequency randomly, but only on PS5 not PC. Hoping the new update fixes this but haven't had a chance to try yet. It is possible that you got a faulty unit I've seen a lot of people saying it took an exchange for a new one to get one that worked properly unfortunatley
3d setting is not saved on the headset and does not make any difference in games that do not support 3d audio. Anyway I love these. Wireless is fantastic on these. The only problems I have are distortion at max volume. Max without distortion is -2 from max. And the seal is too good. I can hear my heartbeat
Yes returned mine, bought the astro A50s and boy what a difference in sound quality. No disconnects. Zero issues so far.. maybe I was expecting too much from Sony.
Bro, your review was clutch and Stellar as far as the earpads. I will let you know that they are removable. I'm going to share a link to a video of wicked cushion so you can sign up to their waiting list and they're going to release new ear pads for the headset and it's going to have prying tool included to take them out. So I will be turning that with you as far as the headset. I really love it. I enjoy it. I'm getting a second pair today my first haircut disconnecting and it kept prompting me to reconnect them. So I am getting a replacement today. Hopefully you sign up for the waiting list so you can get notified when the ear pads get your pair. ua-cam.com/video/BwzgXbiiQaw/v-deo.htmlsi=3L9Ouh2EwBOqIoFL
Thanks for this! Hope your new headset connects better, seems like a lot of faulty units out there are doing this hopefully it's just a batch one issue
@chettystudios so far there doing great can't wait for wicked to put earpads out the headset is clutch it puts you in the game like your really part of it
Seriously before you do a review like this, know everything. You actually can replace the ear pads. Secondly, for $150, this is an awesome gaming headset.
Hey sorry if you didn't catch it in the video but I stated that although you can probably use a third party way to replace the ear pads Sony themselves stated that they aren't replaceable, so the point is technically, by Sony's standards, they aren't made to be replaced. Many people have pointed out that you can pop them off and replace them and that third party companies will be coming out with new pads which is awesome. I also agree that they are an amazing headset for $150, but nothing is perfect, and it's important for people to know the issues that do exist before spending their money on them.
I had the pulse elite for 1 day and returned it. Here's why: 1 the lack of bass, there's no bass at all only highs and mids. 2 the comfort, they are uncomfortable and don't feel right. 3 the ratteling noise of the earcups, they are to lose and feel so weak. 4 the random disconnecting, they loos connection couple times every hour. 5 the lights on the headset are in the vision of the player. 6 they are not fit good with the psvr2. 7. No replaceable ear pads. Save your money and buy another headset!!
This headset sucks ass, I sent it back to Amazon.. Every time I turned on my PlayStation 5 it didn’t always connect. So I had to reset the damn thing almost every time…
Don't buy them. Everyone have random disconnection issues. You play a game and randomly get disconnected. It's not easy to conect again either. Garbage!!!!!
The quality of this video is outstanding sir.
Appreciate it!
You can actually change the pads out. You use a flathead screwdriver to pop them off and replace them. I saw this on another Elite review.
Where do you find replacements for them? Could regular tension fitting earpads work as replacements?
@@jub8891Wicked Cushion is working on it.

Excellent video. Thanks!!
Got these to try but definitely staying with my Maxwells, had too many disconnects!
The pads are actually removable. They are on there with clips. It's a pain but they do come off.
Thank you! I thought I had saw an official Sony statement saying they weren't but this is good news
Officially Sony is saying they're glued. Wicked cushions and a bunch of reviewers showed on video that it is not. Apparently it is not too hard to remove it with a butter knife.
The piece of rubber between the earpads and the band is actually a good idea.. you can probably use those rubber feet they use for chairs and stuff..
have u checked if they work with a 3.5mm cable? please test for me whether you have to turn the headset on and for them to work wired, or u just plug and play without turning them on
You should get more usb dongles if you wanna use it on multiple devices! Would also be interesting to see how that switching works🤔
Did you have trouble with the headset disconnecting from the ps5? I have had it happen to me 2 times so far had it maybe a week
Did you download the new update.
I have the usb plugged in the front.
@@jeffmoen8563 I think it’s up to date a lot of people are having the same problem tho
The only time I had it disconnect so far was when I was messing around with the EQ and I figured that caused it, but otherwise it’s been fine for me
Have you tried using an extension cable with the dongle?
do you feel that they will crack on their sides? i have seen a lot of people saying that their headset snapped even with taking good care of it.
Not really. As much as I hate the build quality, I do have to admit they don't feel easy to break, they just feel cheap. I've dropped them quite a lot and no damage yet

Yeah there is a volume slider under the headphone control panel
