Delta retired their MD-80 on June 2,2020 due to the ongoing pandemic😔. I'm missing you so much lovely mad dog!
Great jet. The sound of these engines alone deserve to be a copyrighted work of art to be monetized.
This plane climbs like crazy
Yes it does....it's awesome to watch.
Love the loud maddog too...it's all that's still flying with JT8's...remember the 727? was the most awesome in takeoff.
Yes, it was (727). Absolute beast!
Had the good fortune to get to fly on this Hot Rod Jet. What a climb rate!!!
Same here, I’ll forever miss those days.
There's nothing like an MD-80 blastoff! Too bad the MD-80s no longer fly into MSP, but at least the MD-90s still do. I also love the high quality of this video!
I see tons of them down here at dfw. My favorite to watch take off and the loudest even the big ge engines don't have that same savage rumble as the mad dogs
@@deez26788 Definitely, DFW is American Airlines' headquarters, so it's always been bustling with MD-80s! I definitely agree, there is nothing like an MD-80 takeoff
All md-80 series are retired now, I will miss them. They were the last jet liner that still shook the ground when it took off, the last of the what I call vintage jet sound!
Too bad they don't come here to Minneapolis anymore, I miss them flying over me, and the MD-90's!
md 88 s are so beautiful!#!!
Joan Woods I have a 1:150 sky marks delta md 88
Live 2 miles from airport and can always tell when an md88 is taking off. Love that sound.
So many childhood memories of this aircraft type, as I boarded these a "few" times on my way to holidays in Greece with my family
Did a great job keeping up with the movement and rotation of my favorite jet!
Amazing video. Loove that engine sound!! Can't wait to be on one of these in April
Beautiful aircraft. Sad to no longer have any here in the states.
Happy to say this bird is still flying with delta today.
that didn't age well.
I miss the 88/90s so much !
Was on one for a flight from Sarasota to Atlanta... Lovely aircraft
Great capture! Miss this plane so much.
what a dream machine the most beautiful airliners ever
Love listening to those JT8Ds
I love that screaming JT8D
These maddogs climbs are something else !
amazing, so sad to see delta retire these planes :(
Was at the airport to pick up my wife yesterday and we plane spotted for about an hour. These things will make you duck and cover if you don't know what's going on around you. :)
laserfloyd I got stuck with the window seat right in front of the engine 😣
Sooo anyone else noticed the window shade opening and closing during takeoff? Count to the 12th window from the front open window.
Flew this from MPLS to dfw and it's very comfortable. A little loud at takeoff but you can get around that with a good set of headphones
The one and only low-bypass jet aircraft I’ve ever flown on, they’ll be forever missed. They cruised overhead multiple times a day and I could tell them apart form other planes with their distinctive cruising sound, now it’s silent…
I remember always getting these from MSP to Atlanta. Delta must have had a lot of them.
STL Lambert used to have a parking lot near the western end of the main runway. I used to go there at night with a date and watch the airshow up close. When things got slow we did other things.
If my date didn't enjoy watching the planes I knew it wouldn't last. LOL
Oh yeah, that parking lot was fenced off after 9-11.
This crew was ready, willing and able to commit pre-meditated aviation. And they did.
Beautiful aircraft
Mmmmmm! If I had more money than brains, I’d get me one of these and a Boeing 727 super 27. Nothing beats the sound of P&W JT8D-200s!!!
Can I use your video on my UA-cam video with proper credit and link to you? Thanks..
Some of this MD and are in Aeronaves TSM and some of the USA Jet Airlines
Love the mad dog 80
In Germany, we have one word to describe what I feel while watching this Maddog rocketing off the strip: Geil!
:-)
Listen to its full throttle power sound!
Beautiful bird!
Where'd you record this from? I'm moving to Minneapolis soon and wondering where a good place to spot is
Damn you can even hear the buzz from the outside. You can even hear them buzzing while they are in the air when your on the ground sometimes too
Hard to capture, gotta be close and in front to hear it.
N985DL.
Fly through ATL enough and you see the same planes. I've seen this one a few times, actually.
I flew it to DTW in December
I understand that some newer luxury cars have artificial engine noise piped in through the cars speakers. They should offer a jet engine sound effect.
Beautiful plane and takeoff.
A toast to this magnificent bird, a true shame to see them go
Where the hell did you get this footage from??
This spot lasted but a month or so; not to forget I was often bothered by police in this location. It's on the far north end of Longfellow Ave S.
It's now closed off.
Nice!
Can you spot on the parking deck
Those DELICIOUS LONG takeoff rolls!!! OMG I miss them. All of the AC today are off the ground in 3 seconds. BORING!
Even Passenger planes are getting boring and depressing as these MD-80s are retired As well as 717s like WTF
Like a @#$%ing rocket.
LAUNCH ..... Tired of boring eco friendly planes ..... these are one of its kind
Because I can't find any other good spots
And now they are retired
A 0 n l e
MD 90 is better.
I wish I flown on one of these
I’ve flown on the 717 which was amazing
