Was test riding a Supercharger 2 the other day and noticed the bad angle of the Kiox display and the store told me it couldn’t be changed! Thankfully this channel is here to keep things real! I must admit I find the lack of route map logging very poor. I love seeing the route maps of rides on my Specialized Mission Control App. Many other useful functions also completely missing on the Kiox and R&M actually charge extra for having it too. For the eye watering price of their bikes they should all ship with standard Nyons.

My eBike came with the Purion display - which I never have liked (because it does not show 10ths of miles on the odometer and trip meter, only fully miles). Does the Kiox show 10ths of miles on the display (not asking about on the phone - I'm really more interested on what the Kiox display shows). Your video had the miles zeroed out, so I couldn't tell if there was a decimal reading on the miles. If yes, then what is involved in replacing a Purion with a Kiox? Clearly, this involves wiring changes, but can it be done (at a reasonable cost)? Thanks for this video - REALLY helpful, and hoping this will work for me!

I eventually did do the upgrade to the Kiox about 4 months ago - and the trip meter does show tenths (not sure about the odometer, since I don't have it in front of me right now, but I know the trip meter does, so I'm happy about that). Very happy with the new display overall - just wish it were not so expensive to buy and have installed. I did mount it differently than I received it from REI (where I had them install the Kiox) - the standard stem mount was, in my opinion, too vulnerable for damage and loss, so I created a new mount using GoPro parts to mount it off the handlebar and a little to the left and below the stem (also required making a small aluminum mounting plate). This is on a Raleigh ebike - there was no provision for a frame mount like they have on some other brands.

I also read on the manual that the kiox battery gets charged by the bike battery when you put the display back on the bike, don't remember if you need the bike on or not. Sadly the app has 2.7 stars rating on play store, it really is full of problems
Its a pretty nice display with lots of info. The app though seems next to worthless. I guess the next generation that is just coming out will let you tune the assist levels like Specialized has been doing for years but it is not backwards compatable so you will have to buy a new bike if you want it.

Hi, Propel! How firm is that magnetic mount? I'm thinking of switching to a Kiox on my MTB but would need to be sure that there's no risk of it detaching mid-bump, so to say. I don't want to use the screw since I would need to detach it daily since I live in an area where the temperature drops below -5F sometimes.
Too late for you i know, but for anyone else wondering this, the display is held REALLY firmly. It's never come off accidentally for me in 1400 miles of mountain biking, not even on black runs down Glentress.

@@NatteskoWhy a new motor? The dealership has an unlock that gets authorized by the owner, Bosch and the dealership. I have had mine unlocked at the dealership. It took them less than 5 minutes.
Informative video. Can the Kiox be purchased after market? I'd love to swap out the Smartphone Hub on my Trek. My dealer said Bosch (or Trek not sure which) would only permit that if the stock display had to be replaced as a warranty claim.
@R B you can now get the Kiox aftermarket, but the supply is very low. Your dealer should be able to just take the original display into stock, but I imagine there might be some labor involved in the swap. The Kiox and Smartphone hub have the same wiring BTW.
Can you tell me what bottle cage mount you use to get the dual water bottles mounted near the stem? I looked on your website and they aren't on there. Thanks!
@samir el-habib I don’t believe this is viewable through the Kiox. You can see what software version you have though and if it’s up to date it will have 85Nm

Hi Chris - with the latest update Bosch have said the Kiox is 'customisable' - I think on one of the screens you can choose the data fields you want to see, but I cannot find out how to do this - do you know how to customise the Kiox?
Is there a way to adjust the power to an assist level, increase or decrease the amount of assistance for a level? I don't know the amount of assistance for each level. If ECO gives 50% of assistance. Can it be changed to 75% assistance? Thanks
My Kiox run out of battery 🪫 is completely dead… does it have a built in battery to be charged by micro usb or has one of those 2032 coin shape battery?
The product announcements from the Bosch CEO suggest that the Kiox screens are or will be customizable. But I don't see this in your video or in the instruction manual. Do you have any information on this?

You will need to swap the mount, but you can use the existing wiring and thumb control. Stay tuned for a video on this soon. I think it will also support the lock function. Anything else you want to learn about the Nyon?

My Kiox displays MPH, which is fine as I'm in the UK, but my eBikeConnect App displays KPH. So, to ask the experts, please how do I very simply change KPH to MPH? Also, my clip-on water bottles provided with my new Nevo3 just last week, one of the two black plastic clips have dropped off. Tried gluing it back on but it snapped right off again. Any advice in which glue to use to avoid future brittle snap-off's?
Somone attempted to steel my Powerfly 4 with the kiox . The Kiox display now shows as locked ( I didn't have the lock function activated ) so now I can't see how to unlock and get my bike working again. Does anyone have the solution to this please
I would recommend checking your eBike Connect app. If you don’t have access to that, you probably need to go to a Shopping proof proof of purchase, and they could potentially work with Bosch to unlock it for you.
Yep me too, but I think you have to connect manually to your phone from the app so that gps is drawing the way on the map. You can also save and download the map from the places you usually ride. Thanks Chris for this very nice tutorial

Hi, Today I bought an e-bike with a Kiox display. I tried to connect my iPhone to charge my iPhone with a cable recommended by the shop were I bought my bike. It is a 8 pin to Micro-USB Lightning to USB Micro-B cable. As soon as i connect my iPhone I get the following message: Cannot Use Accessoy Bosch E-Bike HMI: This Accessory requires too much power. Could anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong?
I like the lock function!! too bad thieves doesn't know, it should be more ubiquitous among more bike manufactures so thieves know that these make them useless. Hopefully security wise the lock can't be bypassed easily.

The battery on the bike does charge the display, but you can also charge it off the bike with a USB

Turbo gives the most help byt it won't go higher than 6 kph.

Just for reference because I'm 100% sure you found out to charge it vis micro usb. It doesn't need much charging to turn on again.

Jerry, your dealer should be able to warranty those clips for you. I think there was a bad batch.

The heart rate monitor has to be bluetooth compatible. Once you put the HR monitor in pairing mode, the Kiox display will see it.
