Hi Sweet Pea. My favorite flower. I have about 100 bushes around my garden. Make wedding bouquets with bunch of lavender on the inside and white roses around the edge. Don’t forget when you pull the leaves off the bottom after cutting they can go straight into organza bags. I also make lavender wands and tea bags for wedding favors. Make lavender shoe bags for your smelly shoes. Lavender kills the bacteria which causes the smell. Dry the flowers upside down for putting in bouquets between seasons. I could go on and on. You could have a whole new business just with your lavender 🥰💜
The ending had me in stitches 😂 here lemme add some too... Lavender paper, Lavender perfume, Lavender dried, Lavender crowns, Lavender seasoning, Lavender dyed fabric, Lavender resin bracelets, Lavender resin rings, Lavender bug spray.. That was fun tehee 🤭
Great Video I enjoyed watching it. I would like to make one suggestion drill a hole in the bottom of the pot and attache a knob or a kitchen cupboard handle to your pot it will make your job easier.
Flower Friend Nicole! Your videos are my favorite! Your energy, knowledge, creativity, and general goofiness is fantastic. Thank you for more inspiration from a beginner gardener in zone 5. Keep on digging like a mole! :)
Cant wait to see these grown up! I have always wanted a Lavender hedge ever since seeing the hedge beside Laura's fence around her vegetable garden & I finally invested in some Lavender plants to do so! I can't wait! 👏
I can’t imagine how funny you must have been as a kid…I LOVE your humor! In case you haven’t noticed, I rewatch your videos when I’m looking for specific info. I’m sure that balancing all of your responsibilities is impossible, so I’m super grateful for all that I receive from you. Stay funny and family focused. 🙏🙏💗💗
I don't think I've enter commented on your videos, but I watch them all. You're very talented and I love watching your garden(s) grow! We have a ton in common right down to the same shirts you wear- it's funny! I found myself wishing we could jump a year and two ahead so we can see the growth of your lavender plants! Keep up the great informative and entertaining videos! Thank you, thank you!! You're the best!
That is going to be an amazing lavender field in a couple years! I planted a lavender plant years ago and it didn’t survive the first year. Fast forward to 2019 when I ordered a lavender plant. Planted it right away in the fall. Last year it survived and I didn’t do anything to it except cut the flowers, but it had more than doubled in size…this year, I trimmed it back in spring and it is massive now! The blooms are about ready to pop any day now. I’m so excited, so I understand your excitement for all your little babies to get bigger.
Some find it relaxing, but this is the first time I almost felt back pain and truly realized that "I have planted 300 of this and 400 of that" is a short sentence, but long hard work! Sister love and support:))))
This is by far my favorite video so far. You are living the dream. I know it’s hard work but getting to see your dreams come true right before your eyes has got to be so satisfying and fulfilling. Thank you for sharing once again.
I have 2 lavender plants. I sometimes put a stem in tea. Love the aroma. But what does your sister cook using lavender????? Never heard of recipes using lavender.
The lavender will be so beautiful. I only have 3 plants and love them. The rabbits and squirrels stay away which is a plus. I have an unrelated question, how are your lisianthus doing? I never heard of them before watching your video planting them so I thought I'd give a try. I planted too late (end of March) they came up but eventually were a bust. I watered and had under a grow light so I don't know where I went wrong. I'm going to give another try next January but wanted to know how yours were doing. Love your videos! 💚💚💚
Give me all things lavender!!!!! 💜💜💜💜💜 I didn't realize there were so many different kinds and that it's hard to overwinter them! No wonder I've always struggled! Thankful for the tips, and I can't wait to see these plants grow!!!
Went to Laromay Lavender Farm NH today. Absolutely stunning. English Lavender Hidcote in full bloom; French Lavender Phenomenol will be in a couple weeks. Lavender ice cream-- delicious.
How lovely to plant all that lavender, thinking of the lavender fields of Provence…..I grow Munstead Hidcote and lavandula grosso here in the uk. French lavenders and white lavender seem much more prone to the cold weather. It’s so easy to grow from cuttings too. In the uk we trim back after flowering , I always wait till the bees have gone- the flowers are alive with them.
OOOHHH GIRL!!! I LOVE Lavender 💞 I only have a hedge of 5 Hidcote but they are my babies! Not that they need any attention, they just grow and are beautiful and smell wonderful and and and...lol! There is a Lavender farm down the road from us, hey...It's called Lavender Hill Farm, lol kinda cool!
It is now end of February 2023. This winter I bought some Hidcote Blue lavender from Veseys. Am thinking of starting some soon, even though our last frost is end of May.
I'm growing lavender from seed for the first time and stumbled upon this video. The last minute cracked me up, you're narration sounds just like my inner monolog while i garden lol! I subscribed and will share all the great videos I'm binging!
When I have that issue., I water them with a cap or two of hydrogen peroxide in the next watering and then let them almost dry out before repeating. Usually gets rid of any mold or root rot issues. And I have saved many sick plants! I tend to buy those sickly looking plants that are on discount 😋.. because I can’t see them and then just leave them there to die. 🤗😍 Just saved a couple of blue hydrangeas and now I am propagating from them. I Have a couple trays of new blue hydrangeas rooted up and almost ready to be repotted. Keep growing. 🌱💞😘🙏🏻
I have not bought any lavenders yet but I was told that I can only grow Munstead and Phenomenal only since I live in tropical warm zones. ❤️❤️ I am super excited to see how everything grows..🌸🌺🌻
A lavender field near me (Long Island, New York) keeps bees and sells the honey. You might like to do that. I love that they have painted the beehives in different shades of lavender.
I think the pink lavender Augustifolia Rosea is hardy and so pretty and the white lavender Arctic Snow. That’s coming from the UK but with fleece protection should be👌🏼🤞🏼I love lavender, reminds me of my mum and is just so comforting x
I am so jelly about your lavender! I sprouted about 108 plants this spring, but they are dwindling down are weather and the wind and frying in the sun sigh… survival of the fittest for my lavender lol. Blessings 💗 🌱🧩🔆
Thank you so much for these fabulous videos! You really brighten up my day! Especially when I’m at home stuck resting due to chronic pain. I love gardening and you have helped me so much in that journey. My Hubby helps me a lot with all the heavy work while I do the seed growing and designing. I’d like to grow cut flowers, so I’m interested in how you grow them. Just like you’ve grown this lavender field for your sister I’d like to put a few posy’s together for friends and family, it’s so nice to give flowers to cheer people. X lots of love Helen (UK). 🧚🏼♂️🧚🏼♀️🧚🏼♂️
In what part of the country areyou are growing your lavender? And if it's like and how are you going to water them along with the grass? I love the idea of burning the tarp fabric rather than cutting it.... so smart!!!
My hubby and I love watching your videos!! And your editing is fun and fantastic!! We just started planting a Provence lavender hedge around the center island in our driveway!! We are inundated with deer so this works out perfectly! Can’t wait to see the progress!!
You're a great educator and fun to watch. I'm planting only 3 lavender plants today and I'm following your direction. Thanks! (PS..... I just subscribed)
When you spoke of imaging yourself encompassed with lavender, I had already been thinking the same thing. When I plant my tomatoes, I always think, sometimes say out loud, OK, where are my tomatoes. If I had lavender like you have, I'd be doing the same thing, OK, I've done my part, where is all my lavender? Patients gardener, patients.
I've been starting Lavender by seed and some of last years plants survived my 3b winter. It went down to -40Celsius, which seems to be the same in Fahrenheit. Just a stupid kind of cold.

You can do a lavender themed Cut Flower Party with lavender lemonade, and/or lavender cocktails, mini lavender butter cream cupcakes, lavender scones, and much more all while folks put together a bouquet, a lavender sachet, and/or lavender rice pillows for body aches, headaches, and for a warm calming effect. I am SO jelly! Wish I was there but it is a bit too far for me to head over there for this, lol. I am in Sacramento California 😥😣. But I am always so excited to see what you are planting and harvesting. I absolutely LOVE your gorgeous bouquets and your build a bouquet porch parties. I am happy to see that you are successful and prospering at something that you truly love, that feeds your soul, helps to take care of regional pollinators, and potentially brings in more wildlife (birds, and good bugs) as a result, and helps the earth all at the very same time. I've gotten more than 5 years with mine, and I was taking it up and down a lot. I also used staples to fasten it down, so that didn't help either.

Tip... when you burn the holes in fabric maybe use a peic of plywood with a big hole in it. That way your circles will be far cleaner.
