I was honestly only looking into growing lavender because it keeps mosquitos away.

My research suggests that running an Airbnb or VRBO on a lavender farm is a bit of a wash. Rents aren't predictably higher than other vacation rentals, however the extra appeal of the lavender fields might increse demand so you have less vacancy. I like the term "chalet", rather than the cabin I was thinking of... more romantic.

You know… the real farmers that know the topic, don’t actually write/sell ebooks. Muscari blunder isn’t just innocent error, but a huge sign of a business that revolves around YT and ebooks done by layman’s who usually know nothing and are recycling public knowledge/sources for profit, in a usually bad videos that promotes even worse books.
@@stormtrooper9404 Right. However I disagree on one of your points. Some farmers do write quality books. Eliot Coleman immediately comes to mind. I could never take horticultural advice from anyone who can't tell a rooted perennial (Lavendula) from a Hyacinth bulb (Muscari). 😄
It would appear that my life is trending up as I will be owning/farming lavender before too long...I’ve always had a penchant for all things in the garden as a landscaper...I’m anxious to get started but the land acquisition is in it’s infancy stage so, I’ll be patient...I would love to sell oils in Europe..

Don’t try to grow from seed, as it is almost impossible. Rather, take cuttings and replant them. It’s much easier...
Since it is a perennial, you can also get your own cuttings from your own plants and expand that way. Since it has about a 4-6 year life cycle, my understanding is that you should be replanting about a fifth of your crop each year anyways, and you will only be harvesting half to two-thirds.
Anyone have experience in farming lavender ? Might have some funding coming in for a farm soon.

Southern India is too hot and wet for lavender. Northern India has better soil for lavender. You want loose, sandy soil with good drainage, possibly on a hillside or slope. You want good rains in the spring, but very important to avoid excessive moisture. Careful with the mulching, and leave room for airflow to circulate around the bushes. More information is available online.
Southern India would be better for growing vanilla, a very valuable but labor-intensive flower.

Depending on the region of Brazil, it might be too warm and too wet. If it is too warm and too wet, perhaps consider growing vanilla instead.

Great vid except you forgot the how to bit
How to: prepare the soil (loose/sandy, good drainage, not too rich of mulch, raised beds okay). Choose annual or perennial (perennial is better, usually). Plant the cuttings. Keep wet in the spring, dry in the summer. Might take 2-3 years to fully mature. Cut in bunches in the late summer to early fall. Leave at least six inches above the ground to grow back next year, and if you have cold winters you can cover lightly with conifer branches over the winter, or a ground cover. Flowers can be sold fresh in bouquets, dried, or used for cooking/mixology. Oils can be pressed, and essences can be distilled. Life cycle depends on breed but tends to be about 5 years for many types, so re-plant 20% of your crop each year.
We’ll this should be easy. I just need about 9.75 million for land, a restaurant and about 90 people to run it.

Lavender doesn't like to be over-wet, but it does require water to establish itself early in its lifecycle. A good drip irrigation system would be essential.
