  • After going to a few lavender farms, we decided to grow our own. This video shows how we plowed, disced, and laid landscape fabric on almost acre.

Thank you! This project has taken so much of our time and energy. That’s why we haven’t had many videos for the channel.

@@josefwagner5710 We do a lot of hand-picking and we have a dr trimmer to weed along the edges. When the plants get bigger there is less room for weeds. Thank you for watching!

@@jeepadventures1339 fair play! And is replacing dead plants a must if they’re spaced so closely? Or do the others fill out the gaps?

    • @jeepadventures1339

@@josefwagner5710 We replace them because ours is spaced too much to fill in the gaps. Humidity is a big problem for us so we space them a little more for air flow.

Ah I see. Well fantastic job nonetheless! Our plants are still too small and it’s risky using the trimmer so having to do all by hand 😂 best of luck for the future!

We get some pretty high seasonal winds in our area of washington. Using the mulch layer, is the landscape fabric pretty secure? I had over 500 landscape 4" staples down and the wind gradually uprooted all of them :/ looking for an alternative.

The mulch layer works great as long as you get it set up just right. We adjusted it so that more dirt would cover the edges. We have had it down for a year with no staples and it hasn’t come up yet. It did take some time getting it adjusted. Wind is not our enemy down here it’s humidity.

@@jeepadventures1339 alright, I appreciate the insight! Had 300 feet of fabric laid down last July and the wind had pulled it up last month unfortunately. Will try either mulch layer, or 12" staples, or both, next. I do like the look of the rows. Just hard to get my hands on a mulch layer
