In this video, we are going to learn about the recipe of famous Bhutanese cuisine "Jaju". The recipe of Jaju is quite easy, and people are not aware of it.
Jaju is a side dish in Bhutanese Cuisine. Jaju can be made with a variety of ingredients like Spinach, Dumroo (Elatostema Lineolatum), Bamboo Shoot, Sea Weed, Pumpkin or Bitter Gourd but the key ingredients of Jaju are cheese and milk.
Dumroo and Bamboo Shoot Jaju are the most common among the people of Bhutan and then comes the Spinach Jaju.

Go ahead, nothing can stop you. 😂
But make sure to boil chicken first and then add spinach at last because you know how fast spinach cooks. Also avoid milk.
A question. Can we use loam to make it instead of fresh spinach?
Yeah you can replace it with other vegetables like bamboo shoots, Bitter Gourd, loma and so on.
Which oil u traditionally use in joju
I've used refined oil only. You can use whatever edible oil you like! :)

I don’t know how it taste coz i m from Nepal just want to know the taste of jaju so I can try it in this quarantine.
The taste really depends on which vegetables you are using. If you use spinach you will taste spinach flavor Likewise if you make out of bitter gourd you will get bitter gourd taste. You should give a try, who knows you might end up liking it a lot. 😂 For me it works as a food appetite. ☺
Can we add buttermilk instead of milk , milk and salt reverse combination as per ayurveda

Kuzuzangpo la! Actually the main ingredients are Spinach, water, oil and salt. We add some milk or cheeses for better taste.
There is no problem at all for adding a little bit of salt in the milk la. 😅

Its not exactly milk soup, you use cheese as well instead of milk. Any thin consistency dish is called as soup. :)
