Me too..everything the Dr is describing is exactly what happened with me. I was alone a lot but initially uncomfortable with it. I noticed a huge change in myself. I crave it more and more… I used to be the opposite, seeking distractions through “noise” or attachment to outside noise… I still need connections but healthier ones with others that are similar. Relationships are changing and he expressed it perfectly by stating that the conscientious choice of solitude will actually lead towards the future of our connections. I crave solitude. My thoughts quiet and my anxieties lessen. I enjoy being alone…
This is going to be very interesting to me. That living alone is healthier than having a really good friend or a soulmate someone you enjoy being with someone that lifts your spirits someone that love comes naturally, but for now I’m alone and it’s extremely peaceful during these times for whatever reasons I have no desire to have any type of close relationship other than with myselfI feel like I have to have the focus on me now
Relationships with others are highly idealized. It's nice having friends, family or a partner but any relationship will inevitably present challenges. Humans are fickle beings with different temperaments and with their own energies that can drain us. Being around this energy sometimes is ok since these relationship challenges help us grow within our own lives but our lives shouldn't constantly hinge on others.
I really needed this video. I can no longer walk because of multiple sclerosis for 40 years. I am still lucky enough to live alone even though I can't walk. Solitude is so peaceful. Thank you so much for sharing this video...❤❤❤
I’m blessed to live my life the way I want and deserve single since October 2008, raised my two daughters, put them true college and now on their own and mother’s I’m so proud and grateful what I have accomplished as a single mother and single person!
Very interesting! that is what happen when you focus on the four unmeasurables! immeasurable equanimity, immeasurable loving kindness, immeasurable compassion and immeasurable joy.
This is so fascinating... ive felt so much being abandoned at birth... much struggling... and now I've learned to be healthy in my solitude and exercising my self resilience 🙏
I get it but part of me thinks... disconnection from others is part of what is wrong with the world today. Compassion and empathy are going by the way side... but he doesn't say to disconnect from society but to become stronger within yourself so you can interact in a more healthy way... yes? Or am I getting it wrong? I'm going to listen again...
Some interesting things about brain activity are mentioned in the video. How can I get more info and verify what is mentioned in the video.I see there is a link I clicked on and then asked me to sign up ?
This is really great but the images of people interacting in the video don’t make any sense to what he’s saying, images of nature would be more appropriate and less distracting.
Dear Joe: why don't you take some pauses to breath between your sentences? you talk so fast that you don't give the listener any time to process the information you are providing. it gives me a feeling of unease and emergency instead of peace. why dont you take some natural pauses to breathe and let us contemplate what you are saying? your information is very interesting and valuable, but you just rattle on and on. I notice this with a lot of podcasters. are you afraid people will stop listening when you take a pause once in while between a few sentences? this is not natural speech in my opinion. you are not a robot but a human being. and i am not a computer that is processing data but a human being that wants to listen and learn, therefor i need some time to reflect on what you are saying 🙂
This is incredible! I wouldn’t change my life for anything. I’ve been on a healing process for 5 years and I love who I have become. ❤

How does this rewiring of the frontal cortex effect someone with ADHD, those with a problem with executive function?

If someone isn't capable of having a good relationship with the RIGHT partner, that doesn't mean that being alone is better.
