Man. That's an awesome video! Thank you for the kind words! I really like my vest set-up.
It survived 2 canoe dunkings yesterday, and I didn't lose a thing..
I like that knife a lot. It has a really useful looking shape.
I told him on his video unpacking all of the great gear you sent that the vest looks like it would work great on my job as a fire investigator. Thinking about buying one.
@chriswilson9230 it's made with fire retardant mesh! I know you investigate AFTER the fire but still.
@@onethiefsurplusI did see that and it is a big plus. I’m definitely giving it serious consideration.
Great vest, One Thief Surplus has a great site and lots to offer. Video was great
I really like this vest setup idea. I definitely will be looking into some of these.
Awesome video and vest!Thank you!
I've always had the idea of doing this with a plate carrier. With it being molle, you can use whatever pouches you want.
Also there's a company that makes hydration packed in the shape of armor plates, and can even be frozen to act as a cooling vest.
Mine was delivered yesterday, now I’m just looking at what supplies I’ll be stocking it with, this video helps
Wendel, that's absolutely awesome!! I was looking at hunting/fishing vests to make a survival vest, but I couldn't find one that I was willing to get until now. The pouches and That larger back pouch has me sold...especially a veteran owned company!!! Thanks man for sharing this with us!!!
Thanks! Hope it works for you
I've always loved the survival vest concept since I bought my first vest back in 1980. It just makes more sense to me, and I have bought a lot of them since that time. I bought one of these same vests for my brother over 20 years ago and he loved it and used it all the time. It was different with that track system, but it has held up great with no issues, and the limited ways of configuration was not an issue either at the end of the day, considering it was a just way to replace a get home bag. Keep up the great work.
Greetings, I do enjoy your videos... I have a hunting vest that I bought in my local Marshall about 7 years ago. I substitute my vest for my backpack when I'm iguana hunting. I pack my vest with everything from pellets for air rifle to food and water, shelter and stool to sit on. I think these type of gear are a great options. My vest has a rear panel you pull down to lean on. The pilot vest that you show is fantastic with the different modularity you can wear it on a hick or on town with light gear or no no gear. Nice video...
Just received my "Grade 2" vest. Sweet, already has the snap track items sewn in place. The rear pack has official identification markings on it. Definitely gives it character but as far as wear and tear the thing is brand new
Now you need to make a video of the large backpack they sent you
Plan on it
Awesome vest , thanks for sharing YAH bless !
Thats a nice little find. 🙂
They've got the Granite Gear Chief Patrol pack too. I got one elsewhere years ago and its in the top 5 best money/value things I've got in the last decade (in general, not just outdoor type either). If you havent got one from them and have any want/need for a large ruck thats also comfy definitely check it out. Ive rucked with over 100lbs and it carried the weight way better than anything else I've ever used.
Check my last video. I got the granite gear pack then. 👍🏼
@@ThePreparedWanderer hey, there it is. UA-cam wasn't showing it for...UA-cam reasons I'm sure...
I've seen tactical vests a long time ago with systems like that for attaching pouches.
@@Manco65 snap tracks were proprietary to this particular form factor.
Hello 👋 my outdoors friend, thank you for sharing this informative video. I really like that vest. It's very practical. Stay safe out here. 😊
I couldn't pass 1 of these up. Just ordered the "Grade 2" vest and should receive it in a few days. $39.99+ shipping
Enjoy!
I am looking at the vest on the site but I don’t think it shows the grade 2 what’s the difference?
@@gearnmore91 Grade 2 was $39.99 vs $99 so it must be like new. Mine will be here Friday
@@gearnmore91 if you are not seeing it try opening their web page from a desktop browser and not a handheld device browser. But my grade 2 item is out for delivery today I'll let you know later today just how good it looks. I just couldn't see spend a $99 on a surplus vest
