While I’m not as good as you, I feel good about the deal we got last week. $950 off MSRP no add ons (I got the all weather matts thrown in) on a 24’ CRV LX. Got it at 2.9% APR
I just picked up a 2024 CRV-EX in New Jersey last weekend for $2700 off MSRP and no add-ons. This deal was done in person ..my second best deal was over the phone and it was $2000 off MSRP and no add-ons. You just have to get aggressive with them and low ball them. Telling them you'll put a deposit down by CC on a good deal gets them motivated .
Some dealerships have gone wild with the "add-ons"... my local Ford dealership is still 15k-20k over on new broncos, and they are swimming in them, aka, the have tons of them lol. But they are all getting sun tans on the lot.
you can double to triple that in my area... I paid $1100 for my tesla model 3 to tint every piece of glass and it wasn't the top ceramic but the one below and I paid cash. Would have been more paying tax.
Dealers nowadays, just seem to want to keep cars. You hear them complaining about no one buying, well no one is really selling either. Because super slow market and dealers STILL want addons, and above MSRP, lol.
This is so true. I was trying to make a deal on a truck that the dealer had sitting on their lot for over 150 days. I asked for 3k off MSRP, and they will not budge.
They won't, because folks just finance the extra money into the lifetime of the loan and not care. The only people that care are cash buyer, which are the minority currently.

So your initial 3 year Bumper to bumper would not include the paint?🤔 Also I guess this car does not come with a Key Fob, so you would really need that little patch of plastic to keep your key from scratching behind your door handle. LOL (by the way I have never scratched the door behind my door handle even before Key Fobs were invented, why ya might ask...because I know the key goes into the lock not behind the door handle😂🤣😂)
The adons really piss the public off. When we bought my wife's RAV4 there were no extra dealer adons so it was a straight forward deaL with a discount off MSRP. The next week I went to the parts desk and ordered the rubber protective mats to include the cargo area. That was 124 dollars for the set. The locking nuts for the wheels cost me 42 dollars. I also bought a cargo net and a few other things. I will never pay for them as an addendum . I will walk away.
@@BeautyandJoy-yb7ck Yes I did but if I had to replace that vehicle today (a 2018)I would not buy it . I would walk and maybe buy a real low mileage used one.
Some vehicles come from the factory with accessories installed. If you don’t want those accessories don’t buy that vehicle look for one without them. I think that is common sense.
I can understand that dealers have pushed for add ons for decades. However now it seems these add on have mostly been already added to the vehicle so you’re forced to negotiate with them. It’s awful. One more check mark on why sales are down. Personally why I just bought a 2005 for $2,000. I’m also very happy with it.
Its to create confusion and dehumanize the process. The Sales Manager can act from a position of numbers only, the sales person could be an A ole or could be a nice guy. Plus, in many dealerships Sales people make commissions, the Sales Manager makes a flat salary with possible bonus on hitting certain numbers. So there is incentive for the Sales person to sell, regardless of price. While there is incentives for the Sales Manager to hit certain price points, addons sold and so forth.
Its to add layers of obfuscation and time to the deal. The back and forth is extremely draining to the average person, to the point where once something meaningless like markups are removed, they'll take the car because they are tired of the games. Even though the market may suggest that 7-10% off MSRP is the deal they should've gotten. This is why you either call and haggle or do it via email from the comfort of your house. You are less likely to be emotionally invested when you haven't become attached to the vehicle in person.
