I've had this same problem, in the same place on regular XL's. It's up to you, but I sorted mine out by pushing a little paper or insulation tape or something similar inside the housing near/above the 3D slider absorbs the vibration and reduces the crackling. I had to push it in between the two halves of the house with my nail.
@@reuvenheffernan4094 The same thing happened to me and when I read this comment I tried it and I'm sorry I don't speak English I'm using a translator right now the question here to solve this error of the horn with burned coil is simple, the upper part of the screen is disarmed and once the horn in poor condition you put a piece of paper Folded twice you place it on top of the damaged horn and arms the top of the 3DS
Cheers, ive opened up 3DS's a few times. The speakers are tiny and I believe this is a case purely of a damaged speaker cone. The good one is my replacement while I wait 7 days for the transfer lockout to end and then i'll refund the stuffed one.
Had the same problem. Returned my 3DS XL within a fortnight and got a new one. It is currently going through its first charge but the problem seems fixed. Hats off to EB games for making the exchange quick and painless!
It's likely your headphone jack itself. You 3DS is detecting something still plugged in hence no sound. Could be a loose wire on your headphone jack/motherboard. If you're brave enough then fix it. Otherwise go buy another, swap it and return it with a full refund.
@@stevenzacharakis my 3ds is having a speaker problem to. When it plays music dream mario and luigi dream team the speakers. Do exactly what the faulty 3ds did. But way weaker. Its very annoying can you make a speaker replacement video or a fix to this? Slimey _Goomy if you like taking things apart then you can just replace the speaker yourself. Look on AliExpress for one. The top cover comes off pretty easily. If you have know-how.
Slimey _Goomy try 00 or 000 Philips (cross). Essentially buy a jewellers screw drivers kit. You will also need a very sharp scalpel to remove the rubber screw caps on the top screen infront. Once you undo them just slide the cover back (towards the hinge) and the back of the top screen and speakers will be exposed.

Thank you so much for this video - I already thought the N3DS XL is supposed to sound that crappy.
mine is even worse, I can hear the static even when I am far away from it

My new 3ds does this also. It corrected itself mostly but for other parts i can still hear it.
Hey, I don't thi m you'll see this but I have a 3ds that doesn't play sound at all unless I'm typing or taking a picture, anny ideas?
Sorry for the typo and missing words in that comment lol, I'm tired.
Good luck, whatever you end up doing :)
The speaker could be old and making it sounding like that
My new 2ds xl right speaker sounds like that when its loud and when I shake it i can hear it moving around but everything else is fine idk what to do.
Sounds like a faulty speaker - if you're game enough they are easy to open and replace

Sir Stiv Do you know what type of screwdriver I would need to take the screws off on the top part?
