So much goodness in this episode! Massive takeaway for me is to keep money conversations out of emails and only in person/over calls 💯 Also that mother in law bit was amazing 😂
the guy at the end saying sadly "i mean that's my life" and looks like he's going to try this practice on his mother-in-law RIGHT NOW hahahahaha amazing podcast as always, thank you for the value you're providing! 🖤
So interesting! Someone once told me that almost everything in life can be negotiated, but in real-life practice, you need to learn what a negotiation is and what you are negotiating. 🤣 And yes, that's something I didn't learn at design school, haha. Thanks for this. Great episode!
I think the price role play dance is a bit over complicated. I think productised services is kind of a good key word here. As a motion designer you anyway shouldn't do just anything for anybody. Do specific things for certain people. You got to know what you can do and how long it takes. Product X takes me Y amount of time, so the price will be Z. You should be able to say some numbers and maybe mention past projects and in what range their budget was. But sure for more complex projects you'll need more information. And in most projects opportunities will occur on the way to offer some extra services for some extra money ;)

This an excellent video and a very helpful conversation. Great job Hayley and Kwame!
Thanks for this one. I think having the abundance mindset is a game-changer in these conversations. Need to implement it more in my own negotiations.
This interview is SO NECESSARY and soooo good!!! Thank you for that!!!!!!
Have you ever had a tough client negotiation? We’d love to hear your stories!😍

Thank you so much! Yea fascinating how even things like timeframe are also negotiable! Too easy to think of money straight away! Glad you enjoyed!
